She knew exactly what to do then, like it was second nature. Right now, it only made sense. After all the time they spent together, everything they went through, and the way he made her feel like she could be completely herself; it was like it’d been written that she should come closer, take his face in her hands, and kiss him. She didn’t let go, and for the first time since Rosalie, she actually felt like she was whole again. All the missing pieces came together, and she pulled away, breathless. Her brown eyes fluttered open to meet his blue ones, and she smiled. “Hint: I like you.”

It was a kiss that part of him had been waiting for. He couldn't help but smile into the kiss. "Hint: good." He whispered against her. Long arms slowly found their way against her thin waist. The little tuxedo cat jumped out of her lap as he pulled her close. Ace pulled them back so he was in her lap as he kissed her and held her close. Finally, he pulled away. "God I missed you."

Silence. Long silence. The butterflies were back again, and for a few moments, she had no idea what she was going to ask. Her breath caught, but she forced herself to look up at him. A small nervous smile placed itself on her face. “Say a girl has a crush on this guy. She knows she can’t do anything about it anymore, though she’s tried. Should she tell him?” Speaking about it metaphorically almost made her feel better. She drew a short breath, hoping she hadn’t made him feel weird.

Well he did feel weird, like she was reading his mind. But, he didn't want to read too much into it and risk his own feelings. "I say she should just tell him, be upfront. If he's cool it shouldn't be a problem." He just smirked and rolled his shoulder. Though it effected him he didn't let it show on his face.

Avery felt an overwhelming sense of relief once she was finally able to see and hold him again. He wouldn’t let go, which was more than fine with her, because she wouldn’t have either. She needed to find a way to tell him now, because there was no way she could keep acting like she was only his friend. She sighed happily, giving him a smile and settling cross legged on the couch. The cat jumped up, curling on her like always. “It was fun up until my phone dropped in my lemonade, and my dad shut up after I told him a thousand times that you’re only my friend.” She met his eyes, and they were memorized clearly now. She was calmer then, trying to figure out how to tell him what she wanted to. Biting her lip, she looked away, unsuccessfully trying to hide the pink on her cheeks. “Can I ask you something?”

Ace felt surprisingly awkward. He swallowed nervously and decided to get them drinks. After bringing the cups back and placing them on the coffee table he sat next to her and reached over to pet the cat. "Yeah sure, what's up?" Way to sound eager and nervous. Idiot.

Time seemed to go by slower than usual. Avery hadn’t even enjoyed her trip while she was away, because all she thought of was Ace. Seeing him again made her happier, and that was when she knew she was in too deep to try and get out. The two weeks she’d been gone were her hardest, and every day she’d had a battle with herself about going back. She gave in when her parents thought she was being too ridiculous about everything, and running away from your issues didn’t solve any of it.

Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath through her nose, then tapped lightly on his door. Excitement and nervousness filled her stomach. He wanted to know why she left, and she still didn’t think she’d be able to tell him. She took another deep breath before stepping back a little.

Ace didn't want to act too stupid when he found out Avery was back. He had no idea why he was so jittery. He had cleaned up, even put on a vest and a shirt with no holes. Batman was resting on the couch and Ace tried to keep his knee from shaking as he sat there. When he heard the knock he shot up as if it was the cops. He brushed through his growing hair a few times before going to the door. With a calming breath he opened it. 

He didn't say anything, just smiled and reached out, pulling her into a hug. It was odd, Ace didn't let go and just held her tight for a while. "I missed you, come on." He gestured into the room and closed the door behind her. "So how was your trip? Your dad bug you about me?"
