Listen I know adding Tauriel and having Legolas in The Hobbit movies is somewhat of a controversial point but it makes me sooo happy and not in the sense of "yeah I missed orc-killing elf backflips" or in a "dwarf-elven forbidden romance we love to see it" or even in the sense of "cool to know what Legolas' relationship with his dad was, that probably being at least part of the reason why he is. Like That." Though I do love all of these points.

No, I love this addition because I know in my heart that somewhere someday, Gimli and Legolas are going to be in the middle of an adventure and Gimli's gonna get captured and Legolas is going to have to explain to Tauriel that she has to release him because he is, in fact, his dwarf.
