Mini rant: I hate when people blame Jamil for enabling Kalim’s incompetence, like he wants Kalim to be helpless so he can control him or whatever. He has to do that because that’s his job. Jamil very clearly does not like being a servant to Kalim, (I’m not saying he doesn’t care about Kalim himself) and he wouldn’t want to increase his workload. Blaming him for something he is being forced to do just rubs me the wrong way

Jamil has always been forced to constantly cater to Kalim but while they’re at NRC there’s no one to enforce it, so as long as Kalim doesn’t tell his family Jamil can get away with pretty much anything. However pre book 4 he is still stuck in a (literal) slave mentality preventing him from being directly rebellious, which is why he resorts to backhanded schemes.

He also maybe didn’t trust that Kalim wouldn’t tell his parents about any efforts at decreasing his burden. We all know Kalim ignores a lot of things Jamil says. Telling Kalim not to tell his parents would also let him onto the fact that Jamil is doing everything against his will, which was something he was hiding.

After Book 4 Jamil lets himself push his limits and get away with whatever he can get away with, he also trusts Kalim a bit more. That’s why he starts letting Kalim be more independent, because he realizes that he can, it’s nothing to do with Kalim himself.

In conclusion, Jamil doesn’t enable Kalim because he wants to, he enables Kalim because he thinks he has to, and he thinks he has to because before coming to NRC he actually had to.

Kinda got off topic there and there’s probably typos, I’m writing this at 3am. Please give me any thoughts or comments

Maybe im crazy and blinded by nostalgia but Toby is literally a dweeb, and like socially awkward. It's like both fanon Toby’s are slightly canon in there own way but for the wrong reason. And i do believe it stems from ableism because he's genuinely disabled with several disabilities. So it went from infantalization and acting like he's dumb, which is ableist. And then you have the opposite side which makes him this abusive guy which imo is also ableist and mischaracterization.

Like the mf was abused and treated like shit, he's not abusive, but he's also not a baby yknow. To sum Toby’s character up in the most canon way I can is to say, he's an asshole. Straight up, he's a jerk lol. He's this socially awkward, hyperactive guy who struggles with handling his emotions and can have extreme mood swings, though he can also be caring and nice to people he knows well and cares about. He's also delusional.

And where in that bunch of disabilities and personality traits do people find extremely childish or abusive to be... right about him?

But also canon is such a loose term in crp and a lot of shit isn't canon at all. But i also don't think it gives people the right to have pretty much ableist headcannons.

Obviously i never really batted an eye at the infantilization stuff when i was like 12 in the fandom. I mean i was literally 12😭😭 but its so obvious now

But at the same time the crp fanbase is sooo fucking boring and serious right now. You can't do shit in this fandom without people being like omg thats so corny. Or omg thats not canon. Or omg you're a larp cuz you didn't know that jeff the killer farted at 5:18 pm, august 21st, 2015. Like some of yall are so damn entitled and boring as FUCK.

I like realism, but I feel like people mistake it for dark, gritty, horrible, everywhere, all of the time. You know what happens in real life? People having fun and having good cherished experiences in between the crashes. You are much more likely to have neutral to pleasant moments rather than never-ending inceasing suffering. Life is a roller coaster, it goes up and down and has time in between. And that time isn't any less important.

You know what else is in real life? Multifaceted people. Just because someone could become or do something doesn't mean it fits with the decisions they would make as a person with things they hold dear and a worldview shaped by their experiences and predisposition.

Just because someone abused could become an abuser, doesn't mean they're guaranteed to. Likewise, they aren't guaranteed to break the cycle, but they could.

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse with this part, but I think I should include it. Yes, they're fictional characters, some may have multiple versions of them, there are also individual aus and iterations to take into account, but if their portrayal goes directly against what the original character was meant to represent and the message or core of their character, then it's not the same character. That's a whole new character or a doppelganger now.

None of this is to say you can't write horrible people, as long as the narrative doesn't treat their wrongdoings as a good thing or something to be overlooked, that's great! What separates depiction from endorsement is accountability.

Like what do you mean Toby would never love anyone??? Have you SEEN how much he loved his sister and his mother? Theres literally no mention of him being unable to feel love. I get some characters such as Jtk wouldn't really reciprocate, but you can't tell me Tim Wright wouldn't be able to love anybody.

Sure some creepypastas/Slenderverse characters would feel love differently than most people, but still.

And you can also NEVER convince me they would hurt their partners, and especially not on purpose. In what world would they amputate their partner.

Anyway I get that we're talking about killers but you gotta remember they still got feelings for the most part.

idk why some people in the Creepypasta fandom are so fucking obsessed with making the characters pedophiles, rapists, and even writing INCEST about the characters. I keep seeing blogs that write about incest between the Creepypastas, I understand the point of writing is to express yourself and what you like but it is absolutely disgusting to see those kind of fics.

and I know some people are going to be like “don’t like dont read” and I get that but that shouldn’t excuse the incest and pedophile fanfics. I 100% believe that what you write shows how you think and feel about certain stuff—so seeing people write those kind of fanfictions is absolutely fucking disgusting and you should be disgusted with yourself, because why are you so drawn to writing incest? There is so no reason for you to be writing about incest between characters (I just saw a blog that is called the-woodcest-guy and he writes NSFW INCEST ABOUT JEFF AND LIU, I blocked him)

it’s also especially worse when people write characters that ARENT related to be related in order to write incest fanfics. For example, dad Tim wright and son Tobias Rodgers, I SAW A DRABBLE WITH THIS! And it is absolutely disgusting and you’re disgusting.

Im sorry im gonna rant and it's about Jamil because when it wasn't... But ... I saw someone say Jamil's family position is just a job and that Jamil saying "i cant put my family in the street out of my selfishness" as in LITERALLY be in the street because it is a job and their house is in the Asim property so like .. the streets as in outdoors 😭. Im not saying that's a wrong interpretation, Im saying that's reading what is on the screen and then not thinking. Also, yeah, what's up with this fanbase and downplaying basic security in this economy? This is the second time i saw the whole "he could leave if he wants to because it is just a job" i wouldn't want my family to be homeless either nor jobless??? 😭 Do you want to? Homelessness? In this economy? For your entire family? There ain't noway y'all being fr.. i saw them point out that "if Jamil's situation is THAT constraint then his character arc about finding his own freedom makes no sese" and yeah, it wouldn't. IF YOU'RE THIS LITERAL ABOUT EVERYTHING. His arc is closer to "doing your best despite your circumstances" which is similar to Leona's and Idia's arcs. .. i cant . I really cant. "Jamil is just working a job. He did put his feet down to Kalim and nothing happened" .. to Kalim. In the school. Where no one knows. To Kalim. I can put my whole foot in Kalim's soup and nothing would happen because the PROBLEM ISN'T KALIM. Jamil got scolded as a child for winning in games against Kalim you think everyone would be nonchalante if they knew what happened in book 4 ? Actually the way Jamil behaves in book 7.5 aligns more with him trying his best in this reality he is in. There ain't no way , aint no way ......... Someone pointed out that a lot of things are IMPLIED in twst. Like, Leona's depression, Idia's suicide attempt in book 6, and Cater's depression. But of course IMPLICATIONS would not exist here if we're just reading the text and going " aight". Guess Azul is also so benevolent cuz it's said so right here. Gotta go get a shift in the Mostro Lounge then. Im not done. I lied. I got MORE TO SAY. So, it is easy to sympathise that Minajael is basically in a golden cage and that being a royalty is not all that great, so if i said he is the first prince he can change the law once he is in control you'll say— If you're smart—you'll realise systematic changes are not done by the snap of a finger and it's nearly impossible... BUT SUDDENLY WITH JAMIL IT IS "BUT, IF, AND" 😭 i dont see WHY .. it is not like his arc is uniquely his either. Almost all of the overbloters have the theme of "i was dealt a rough fate, put in positions out of my control but im going on" just in different forms.
