It still surprises me that the third DCC book loses people. I found it more fun than the first two and most of the fourth. It can’t just be people getting hung up on the impossible level design.

The book brings Katia into the main cast, has some of the funniest moments (liquid patch 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸, Donut screeching at Hekla, Mordecai’s reaction to Chaco), the introduction of the Cookbook, has the amazing dynamic of the crawlers coming together to help each other, and a kickass climax. And an entire level built around just trains going to more trains, all underground, is awesome and atmospheric!

If I were to recommend books to mgk, I’d pick Pine by Francine Toon, All the Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater, and The Lights of Prague by Nicole Jarvis. Maybe you’d like those too if you relate to his music 😊

Donut, being a cat, has limited knowledge given she only experienced things that cats experience. Her world was basically narrowed down to just Bea, Carl, Bea’s parents and the occasional appearance of cat show people or a neighbor. Her only other knowledge input has been tv, and she’s pretty lucky that she got such a wide range of stuff watched since it gave her a broader knowledge base than most cats.

I was just thinking about how if my cat gained human sentience, all she’d know about are mgk lyrics, Emily Henry books, and Brooklyn 99.

Finally started reading Dungeon Crawler Carl this week. I’m obsessed, especially with her majesty Princess Donut.
