Gender

Blog 9 Gender identity has been a big issue today. People are finally not afraid to "come out" or to tell their friends and families that they like the opposite sex. Normally, back in the days being "gay" was not allowed. So people did not want to disappoint let alone get treated differently if they gay. The articles that we had discussed in class are based on gender identity. One of the Articles which is called " The Rule " by Alison Bechdel. In the articles Alison directly gets to the point on how their are many action movies that are out in which males play the main roles in them. Both of the women she drew are trying to figure out what movie to watch. One of the women say that she has three rules which "one has to have at least two women in it", "two, the women has to talk about something other then three, men" them she says "last movie i was able to see was Alien" she infers that basically all movies that are out only pertain to women and men talking about each other. I would not have looked at the movie titles as being so sexist if she would not of pointed it out. It is quite sad that a good movies these days has to include women and men body types and how we prey on each other. There are very few movies out there that talk about a mission or a goal throughout the entire movie. I believe Alison has made a good point about these gender identities but i also believe that we are in a day and age where people will speak out on what they believe in I would personally give it some time because sooner or later there will be a speech or announcement about gender identity roles. This article also is related to sports because men have said at least a million times that "a women could not play that sport". The reasoning behind this dumb founded theory is that many men believe that us women do not have the skill, drive, strength as men. Women have proven themselves a lot on what we could do and how we could beat men in different sport events. There should be more abroad leagues that show what us women can do like NFL football leagues for women that are played on television so every one can see. We have proven our selfs in the NBA basketball leagues we have our own women's basketball teams that travel all around the world and compete in different games. We have proven ourselves somewhat but like i said in the future their will be more to come.

Last Blog

Taking this course and completing all of the blogs was a challenge for me at first. Creating or researching a new topic every week was harder then I expected it to be. This has taught me how to complete stressful work quickly when assigned it; for instance at a job in the future your boss might make you do as much or more work like this every week and learning this new skill has taught me to use my time wisely and more efficiently. I am sure many other students taking this class has took this learning abilitity with them. The black history month assignment was the best project to me because I learned a lot of new information on African American women who were not given the proper credit they rightly deserved. If this were never assigned I would not have learned that and shared it with my class mates. During that month we also had to read everyone else's research projects. I never understood Scientology until I read it by a classmate. She wrote a lot about the origin and what people thing of it. I also learned alot about Meals on wheels and how Donald Trump was going to take the funding away from the elderly. Trump was also talked about during a presentation about pollution. He does not want the funding to continue any longer. I learned a lot when we did our presentations in class and read the blogs off tumbler from my classmates. My work has developed in a massive way. I was use to just researching and gathering information but the blogs that were assigned helped me put my opinion in my work without using I, me or my. This learning technique in the beginning I thought was going to be all fun and games because the use of social media and how I never had a tumbler account before but I was so wrong about this being easy. I did enjoy the discussions that took place in the classroom where the professor would ask us which topics should we talk about or what events are going on, on the news. This kept everyone aware of what was going on in the world and attentive. Some discussions even when on for two or three class periods because the students cared so passionately on what were being talked about. I would say Im am glad I took this class and would recommend others to take this class just because I have learned so much and will take this knowledge with me. I would say my strengths this semester has been and will always be sharing my opinion with others I am always passionate about my work that I present when I am able to share my thoughts with others.

Miracle’s presentation was on helping the pollution funding organization that Donald Trump is going to take funding away from them. He is going to let millions of dollars go to waist if this comes to pass. This interested me because I care about the environment and what being put in our air. Many particles are causing sicknessess and diseases. Donald Trump should find another way instead of taking this funding away permanitly. He should figure out what are the most expensive funds that the pollution businesses need and try to replace their expenses by combing other Go Green Organizations. Donald Trump is not completely wrong when it comes to taking the mone from this organization because he is trying to get the United States out of debt and he believes that this is an unnecessary business which to him is one step closer to hopefully getting America out of the trillions of dollars we owe. However the pollution businesses can find another way of helping the air if he takes away the funds. Maybe if the organizations come together and protest at the White House or in some professional manner that would get his attention and would hopefully change his mind or might make him come up with another solution to find this project. This is a good topic because others should be aware of the pollution business and how they help try to protect the air. If miracle did not present this project I would not even know what the funding issues were and how we could help.

Blog 10 A young lady in our class whose name is miracle did a great job on her presentation which was on helping the pollution funding organization that Donald Trump wants to get rid of. Reading all the research that others have begin to tell made me rethink a lot about our world. In which starvation places an important part. Or on another reason why Trump to me is crumbling dreams. Maybe just to learn something knew that can change the way we see the world. I narrowed it down in seeking to learn how we could help starvation around the world become minimized. This is overall the most important discussion because one could not think about Scientology or Meals on wheels is they are constantly thinking about will tomorrow ever come to them and their children. Like i said before instead of just listing ways we can help them how about we actually do something to help them. I do not know it all that is why our class should come up with ways we can donate our help and money into making these starving families eat.

What is Scientology?

Scientology is the study of the spirit in relation to itself, universes, and other life. Scientology beliefs are built upon the fundamental truths about life; that man is good and his spiritual salvation depends upon himself, his relationship with his fellow peers, and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe. Furthermore, scientology is a religion that is concerned with the full rehabilitation of Man’s capabilities, awareness, and his own immortality.   

Scientology was created in 1954 by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard. Hubbard originally developed a program of ideas called Dianetics, which was defined as a spiritual healing technology and an organized science of thought. Hubbard promised that the Dianetic treatment would release and erase psychosomatic ills, painful emotions, and leave the individual with increased powers of rationality. Hubbard stated that Dianetics “was more accessible to the average person, promised practitioners more immediate progress, and placed them in control of the therapy process.” Unfortunately in 1952, the foundation soon went bankrupt  and Hubbard lost all rights to his semi publication Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. He then recharacterized the subject as a religion and renamed it Scientology.

The beliefs and practices of scientology are based on research, and its doctrine is equivalent to scientific law. Many describe scientology as a civilization without insanity, criminals, and war where the world can prosper, honest beings can have rights, and man is free to rise to greater heights. Scientology does not impose or preach about the idea of God, but the people are expected to discover the truth through their own observations as the become more aware. In scientology there are two major divisions of the mind: Reactive mind is thought to record all pain and emotional trauma, while the analytical mind  is a rational mechanism that serves consciousness. The reactive mind stores mental images that are not readily available to the analytical mind; these are referred to as engrams. As engrams accumulate, people move further away from their true identity. These beliefs are revolved around the immortal soul, the thetan. Scientology teaches that the thetan is the true identity of a person. Hubbard taught that the thetan brought the material universe into being largely for their own pleasure.

For many years, people are argued that scientology is cult-like and is dangerous, and by definition scientology is a cult: “a small religious group that is not apart of the of a larger and more accepted religion and that has beliefs regarded by many people as extremely dangerous. It is dangerous in the sense that Scientologists believe that Scientology is vital to themselves, mankind and the universe and it’s success right now is more important than anything. In the eye of a scientologists tarnishing the name of scientology is the worst crime you can be accused of, and this idea allows real problems to be overlooked by members and kept in the dark from the public for the greater good. Protecting the image of Scientology leads them to hide things like death, suicides, child molestation and neglect from the media and its members.

Im not really familiar with the concept of Scientology but i would like to understand it more. Is a religion or is it not. Is it a popular belief system because one should be aware of this scientific discovery. I like learning new things that could help me in life. This should be discussed in class because i would like to hear everyones response on to their liking of Scientology. If they would personally use this method to ease the brain in some sort of way. Meals on Wheels

 Meals on Wheels America is the oldest and largest national organization supporting more than 5,000 community-based senior nutrition programs across the country that are dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation. Established in 1974, it has provided funding, leadership, education and advocacy support, Meals on Wheels America empowers its local members to provide services to their communities.More than two million volunteers deliver the nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks. And those who are more ambulatory are fed at local community and senior centers

 President Donald Trump 2018 budget could slash some funding for a program that provides meals for the older. Programs across the country are serving fewer meals and are waiting to join Meals on Wheels because of how much it’s growing. Jenny Bertolette, that’s in the communicating and marketing team at Meals Wheels says “The Older Americans Act, as a function of the US Department of Health and Human Services, which is facing the specter of cuts itself, covers 35% of the costs for the visits, safety checks and meals that the local agencies dole out to 2.4 million senior citizens,” This is an issue if President Donald Trump cuts the budget for this organization. Even though 3% of the budget for Meals on Wheels’ national office comes from government grants. Each state allocates this funding differently, so it’s difficult to summarize the total impact on the nationwide network. For Example City meal on Wheels has 15,412 New Yorkers whose dedicated volunteers that delivers food and connect with the elderly people in the neighborhood.

 If President Donald Trump has a tight budget why cant he cut an Organization that doesn’t have involves elderly?

 How many Americans have a disability that counts on Meals on Wheels?

 If President Donald Trump cuts the budget, will Meals on Wheels ever overcome there lost?

 Are Elderly citizens important to America Society?

 This is something that we should educate ourselves with because this is a current event issue. And that will impact many elderly Americans. Also the community service that the dedicated volunteers receive will get cut. Some of these elderly people are veterans that has served this country and fought for our safety and freedom.  What will happen to those that can’t walk and make their food, they just going to order food for rest of their life.

The job i work at now, i have to basically care for an elderly lady. Shes 88 years old now and shes parshly blind, has aAlzheimer's and is pretty weak all the time. Everyday I usually answer the door to the meals on wheels people. They give me the meals for her and most of the time they are pretty good. In fact every time I feed her some how her memory comes back and she begins to laugh with me and tell me stories of her past and her as a child. Being not able to remember is basically the death sentence to the brain. She really hates the fact that she can not remember because she gets afraid or worse. If meals on wheels could bring her memories back while shes living her last few years on Earth why take that from her. If this food really is a treatment for her brain i would hate being the one reasponsible. This could be an important topic to discuss in class but only if we had a way or a plan to stop what Trump is doing to this business.

World Hunger

World Hunger is an extremely important issue that I believe is not discussed enough in our society. World Hunger and Starvation is an epidemic that is far too often overlooked by people in our country. Hunger is a term which has three meanings (Oxford English Dictionary 1971): the uneasy or painful sensation caused by want of food; craving appetite. Also, the exhausted condition caused by want of food, the want or scarcity of food in a country, and/or a strong desire or craving. In 2013, the world hunger organization reported 6.3 million children under the age of five died, approximately 17,000 children a day in Africa died from starvation. The fact that this epidemic is a social norm and the enormity of innocent children having to go to bed and not have enough to eat every single night and tomorrow not being promised is a heart wrenching and surreal. Poor nutrition is approximately 45% of deaths in adolescents and children who are poorly nourished will suffer five times more illnesses than the average child.

World Hunger does not just affect children it affects adults as well. Worldhunger.org stated that “The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that about 795 million people of the 7.3 billion people in the world, or one in nine, were suffering from chronic undernourishment in 2014-2016.” This implies that one out of every nine people you possibly know are suffering from undernourishment. This is still a very real issue right now in developing countries. Somalia is going through a severe drought right now and it appears that no one is discussing this in any news or media outlet. Over half of their population is still waiting on food and have no water, this is being described as one of the worse famines and droughts they have been in almost a decade. The people of Somalia have not received any governmental assistance or food aid yet and the temperature is only rising.

Just last week the Somalian Prime Minister said that in a weeks’ time one hundred-ten people died from starvation and drought related illnesses just in that week alone. This is a state of emergency and it appears that they are being neglected once again just like in 2011’s famine. As one world, we must look after and out for one another despite that we are on different continents this is the only earth we know of and we are responsible for each other whether we like it or not. So, the next time you suggest that you are “so hungry, starving” just realize how blessed you really are and know it could always be so much worse as compared to developing countries who go without eating for ten days or more.

This has always been a touching suject to me because as a child me and my family and my church family use to go out street to street, shelter to shelter and try and find homless people who are hungry and who has no place to go. The look on their faces when they saw us bringing warm bags of soups and spaghetti just was unbearable for me. I would become really sad and i would almost cry because i was never in that position to know what starving really is. People now a days do not know how painful it is to starve its not just being hungry all the time, theres a pain in your stomach because your body is not given the proper nutrition. This should absolutely be discussed in class and we should find ways to donate money to starving families besides just talking about how bad their situation is.

Intersectionality

A few years ago the word intersectionality was create. My view on intersectionality is basically a form of discrimination toward individuals whether it's about their skin color, belief, or gender group. "The Matrix Of Domination" is what's going on now in society, predominantly when these different social standards bring issues to the public eye which in some cases causes chaos. What I define myself as, people don't understand, they just judge. I am a believer of Christ known by many including my "friends" as a Religious, Christian, wanna be church girl. I am strong and I do have self confidence but, a girls who smiles every day with no problems. I am an advice giver and I care and try to help people with their problems whatever the circumstances may be but I get "she acts like she's perfect and she hasn't gone through any of this" but I observe people and seen what problems they have had and learned from them. I am a smart, skillful and talented person but people tend to get jealous, even my friends and they try to "outshine" me whatever that is. I am a young, African American teenager who doesn't mind being referred to as Black but, to many she's not even that dark to call herself "Black" or She's pretty to be dark skinned. This may not be how people view me intentionally but this is how I see it. This word is very important because it helps others understand how to view themselves and how others have viewed them. We should talk more about intersectionality because people in class might not understand what being different actually means so the class discussion should help them have a better understanding of the word.

Random thought

Failure is apart of development. When you fail at certain tasks or goals it only makes you stronger because you know all that you need to do to achieve your goals next time. The feeling of failure is pain. It hurts to fail because you feel as though you put your hard effort and time into something just to know that you did not do good enough to achieve it. My past experiences have not been quite successful which has for sometime now has been very depressing. This reminds me of middle school. In middle school fitting in was a problem for me. I didn’t know how to make decent friendships with the students. I was often saw myself being used. The other kids would use me for school work or just to do things for other them. I wanted to change this. I wanted to be and feel appreciated. So my goal for the following year was to make friends and feel appreciated about who I am. In the beginning, it felt nice to have real friends who I thought would be there forever but that quickly failed. My so called “friends” betrayed my trust and all went down hill from there. This failure had transformed me in several ways because I gave my all trying to change my surroundings and gained people’s trust and they let me down. The ways it transformed me was it made me vulnerable and the failure broke me. My mom couldn’t help me even help me when she saw me down all the time. I had put up a shield around myself, to protect myself from others and from the hurt I had been through. In the end I forgave and moved on. I learned that through forgiveness you can move on past the things you need to but It took forever for me to gain the trust of others. The failure made me grow in ways I did not imagine. For others this might not be a great failure but for me this experience has been a change for me. It made me see how people in life can be and how they can treat you which is if you let them. For example let’s say you had lunch money for school and a bully came to you bluffing saying if you didn’t give them the lunch money then they would beat you up. Then you would be scared and give them the money because they intimidated you. Even though that was a childish example I’m sure you still got it. The moral of the story is you should not be afraid of people’s hurtful words or actions. Their idiocy should make you want to stand up for your self instead of being run over. I could never let that happen again. I had to stand up for myself and it finally had payed off.

Black history month is a month to honor all the Africans Americans who helped bring our culture and get recognition for what they did for the African community.Black History Month began as “Negro History Week,” which started around 1926 by Carter G. Woodson. He was known for being a African American historian, scholar, teacher, and author. It became a month-long celebration in 1976. The month of February was picked because it had people who had to do with helping African Americans culture to be treated equal. February has birthdays ofFrederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.

Some of the pioneers that paved the way for African Americans that are recognized during this month would include Harriet Tubman for the Underground Railroad, Martin Luther king jr ,Gandhi and Rosa parks for their non violent approach to get equality. While Malcom x and the panthers use a violent approach to try and get change and equality. Jackie Robinson was the first African American to play in the MLB. But do you know Ben Carson ? Ben Carson was a neurosurgeon who was most known for being the first separate two combined twins. By him doing this and many other accomplishments, he made a big name for African American doctors In the 1950s. A few holidays that help celebrate the African American culture would include Juneteenth, kwanza and Martin Luther king jr day. Juneteenth is celebrated in June and it is a fun and good time to learn about the African American community. If you are in buffalo during this week and you can go to Martin Luther king jr park and watch dances and learn about the culture. Kwanza takes place the day after Christmas and it’s goes until the new year. This is a time to bring African American families closer together and honor ancient African American cultures and help focus African Americans striving for goals and practice. Martin Luther King jr day is a day to honor a African American man who used a non violent attempt to create change and equality for the African Americans in the 1900s. His life was taken too soon so in order to pay homage to him, he now has a holiday to help with that. I never knew that Black History Month was at first a week. The growth African Americans have accomplished is astounding to me. I wonder next what we're willing to accomplish. Also learning about our Juneteenth. My parents hasn't even educated me on it's cultivative development. Do you think that our towns history and holidays should be taught in our school. Why or why not? I believed it should because it can help others accomplish and it's always good to have knowledge of our history. To be formal, I wanted a little of your opinions to be stated in this post because I wanted to know how you felt about it or what you think should be changed?

<p>Dorothy Height born March 24 in 1912, not only a civil rights activist but, also a women’s right activist. Her main focus was claiming rights for African-American women. She was president of the National Council of Negro Women. Height was born in Richmond, Virginia but her family eventually moved to Rankin, Pennsylvania. She grew up there going to racially integrated schools. Height was accepted to Barnard College. Before she could start the college took back their acceptance because they had made their quota for black students. She then applied and got two degrees from NYU. After meeting Mary McLeod Bethune and The First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt she began volunteering for the National Council of Negro Women. She also began getting really close to McLeod Bethune. And soon became the president. After this she became a leading figure in the Civil Rights Movement. She even worked with Martin Luther King Jr. Dorothy Height was one of the organizers of the March on Washington. She stood next King as he delivered his I Have A Dream speech.</p>

I love learning about new African Americans empowerment. Let alone it being an Black Women. It is so irritating to have never heard of her before. She seemed like she did a lot. Especially being friends to Dr. king. Since they were somewhat close why do you believe she was hardly mentioned in our history books. Many important activists such as herself have been spoken about in our history books and definitely on the internet. To be formal is this in chronological order? I would love to know more about what tasks she did and how she developed her yearnings for helping the civil rights movement.

James Farmer (Freedom Rider)

Black History Month or National African American History Month, is an annual celebration of achievements by black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African Americans in U.S. history. Director James Farmer is a civil rights activist. Civil rights leader James Farmer headed the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) and organized the historic Freedom Rides of 1961.

James Farmer worked on launching the Freedom Rides with the intention of challenging segregation on intestate bus travel, which had technically been declared illegal in 1946 and which CORE had taken action upon previously. The Freedom Riders consisted of both women and men, black and white who traveled on bus routes through Southern states. On May 4, 1961, a group of 13 African-American and white civil rights activists launched the Freedom Rides, a series of bus trips through the American South to protest segregation in interstate bus terminals. 

Departing from Washington, D.C., and attempted to integrate facilities at bus terminals along the way into the Deep South. African-American Freedom Riders tried to use “whites-only” restrooms and lunch counters, and vice versa. The group encountered tremendous violence from white protestors along the route, but also drew international attention to their cause. Over the next few months, several hundred Freedom Riders engaged in similar actions.

Farmer’s main colleagues in the civil rights movement were the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference; Farmer himself risked his life in several demonstrations. In 1963, Louisiana State troopers armed with guns, cattle prods and tear gas, hunted him door to door when he was trying to organize protests in the town of Plaquemine. Farmer went to jail for “disturbing the peace” in Plaquemine, and At one point, a friendly F.B.I. agent told Farmer that an informant had infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan in Louisiana, and had reported that the Klan had voted to kill Farmer the next time he set foot in Bogalusa. 

John Farmer was an important asset to Black History month. He challenged the Jim Crow Laws so we can all be equal today anywhere we go in America. Him and his colleagues made big sacrifices and for that I am thankful for their belief of change.

James Farmer's story is very significant. It's surprising to me that he is not in our history books. His accomplishments are astounding. His recognition should have been Inputed at least in our history teachers because he helped African Americans tremendously like Martin Luther King and so forth. It's a shame the respect is not given to him to honor him in his good deeds. Why do you think that to most he wasn't remembered? His importance is as good as any African American Activist who had faith in us. So I believe we should spread his message around so people could still know even though it's many years ago.

REMY MA VS NICKI MINAJ

First off let’s just say that TO BE THE QUEEN OF RAP YOU GOTTA ACTUALLY RAP! When I say that I don’t even understand why Nicki Minaj brought this on herself because this is literally what Remy Ma does and she has always been about this lifestyle. It is not about who has more records, plaques, awards, or net worth at the end of the day it is strictly about who spits the bars the best and if you have any common sense or brain then you can clearly see Remy did just that. Nicki Minaj is a great mainstream artist but she cannot go bar for bar with Remy so making a diss to come for her was idiotic and stupid especially when she was screaming “FREE REMY” but you want to come for her because you assuming that people talking about you and they have said over and over that they are not rapping about you or dissing you. Nicki Minaj out here taking L’s like her ex-boyfriend Meek Mill, I am going to need for her to do better. And for Nicki to be the queen she hasn’t responded yet looking real suspicious so I just saying Remy did not come to play with anybody she came to get in her bag and REP for the rap game!

First off I love how you brought music artists to the table when most of the class did historical activists, very creative. This feud is literally the bloods vs the crips. People making YouTube videos and all describing how Remy Ma "came for" Nicki Minaj. Now when you said "TO BE THE QUEEN OF RAP YOU GOTTA ACTUALLY RAP" what does it that really mean. To ACTUALLY rap?? Does it mean you have to rhyme? Or talk fast? Honestly I don't really listen to rap music but I know Nicki Minaj is a rap artist? Right? So why according to you does she not actually rap? Do you think it's because she didn't "come for" Remy Ma or her family? I just want to get a better understanding of this feud that seems to be going international??

Black history

Black history month has for some time now been a month where African Americans who fought for our liberties and justices had the opportunity to be acknowledged and respected. So we celebrate them to give thanks. Of course it also refreshes my mind on what MLK, Harriet Tubman, Rosa parks and many others have did and the pain they went through to help us get to where we’re at now. A couple days ago it came to my attention that Rosa Parks was not in fact the first African American woman to refuse her seat on a bus. As stated in many articles, Claudette Colvin, at the time 15 years old and Mary Louise Smith also 18 years of age was the first young women of color to bring about the issues of bus segregation. These young ladies however was never credited for their bravery. Hearing this shocking dishonor made me angry. This was outrageous because for many years Rosa Parks had been recognized and awarded for her accomplishments but yet the original speakers weren’t even given an article.

The so called reason for this treatment was because Claudette, the 15 year old had gotten pregnant and was looked down on as stated in Montgomery articles 50 years ago. Nine months before Rosa Parks uprising, Claudette had already been recognized as being a rebel for her refusal of her seat. Especially when reporters found out that the baby’s father was a older married man which in the press eyes would not have sat well. They felt as though the unmarried, pregnant teen was going to obtain notoriety. Mary’s reason for being unnoticed was not because of her actions it was because of her father reportedly being an alcoholic. His actions was a good enough excuse for Mary’s name not to be mentioned in any report. This act was proven untrue. Months before Rosa Park’s case, members of the NAACP had already been on the search for who had the right “face” that should stand for their civil movement. It has been a proven fact that Claudette’s own mother had been the one to point out that “Rosa Parks lighter skin color and likable personality” was the reason for her to be perfectly chosen to that case, as stated in Montgomery articles years ago.

This unjust act did not sit well with me because to find out that others had known about the first uprisings yet, had steered clear from it because the other woman’s “skin color was not light enough” to bring about a case was just sickening. Back in those days kindness could not get you anywhere. You had to be nice and light skinned.

This historical moment should have also been mentioned in history books, articles or even novels as well as Rosa Parks and her doings because it would have shown some type of justice for other colored people. Especially people who were ashamed of being dark skinned because of how it was looked on. This maybe would have helped someone become proud being African American. People should still learn or be taught the knowledge of these young ladies because even though they were not acknowledged for their doings, at least we would be because it would have been another way of giving thanks and celebrating these women for their bravery.

We have to remember that we are enslaved by our own actions so now it’s up to us to lead this generation on.

Since the beginning of time women have always been compare lower to men. Women have been degraded for being who they are. Women and men are not equal if that was so then woman would have the same respect, earnings, and would be judged the same as men. Is that because men believe that Christ was a man which makes men more powerful? Everyone's opinion is different when it comes to the treatment of women and men some believe women are treated equal compared to men others believe different. According to many women they believe men are more superior. Woman can never have as much as men. Sourjerner Truth A women's activist leader grew up as a slave. She eventually escaped and lived her life trying help other slaves. She was known for her powerful speeches and poems which impacted many people. She believed that woman has always been degraded compared to men since the beginning. Most of the time it's a learned behavior. Men was always taught to be the supplier of their household in the protector which in some cases may make them seem more powerful. In today's society men get paid more than women. The reason for that is still unknown. Men and women have different strengths. A man can look physically stronger than a woman but but a woman can be mentally stronger than a man. Strength comes in different forms. A woman could also work as hard as a man and still earn much less. In "society" women are supposed to stay at home and be the housewives while man go out and make the money which to men may seem like women are more inferior. In the poem " I Anit A Women" Sourjerner talks about slave women being lower then regular white women. They were just the lowest of lows. Although the answers are unknown, women will continue to receive the title of being compared lower to men. This is why women today protest for equality.

So there's a new word maybe 4-5 years of being used which is still new to me it's called intersectionality. My view on intersectionality is basically a form of discrimination toward individuals whether it's about their skin color, belief, or gender group. "The Matrix Of Domination" is what's going on now in society, predominantly when these different social standards bring issues to the public eye which in some cases causes chaos. What I define myself as, people don't understand, they just judge. I am a believer of Christ known by many including my "friends" as a Religious, Christian, or a "wanna be church girl". I am strong and I do have self confidence but, to others a girls who smiles every day with no problems. I am an advice giver and I care and try to help people with their problems whatever the circumstances may be but I get "she acts like she's perfect and she hasn't gone through any of this" but I observe people and seen what problems they have had and learned from them. I am a smart, skillful and talented person but people tend to get jealous, even my friends and they try to "outshine" me whatever that is. I am a young, African American teenager who doesn't mind being referred to as Black but, to many she's not even that dark to call herself "Black" or She's pretty to be dark skinned. Today the world always judge a book by its cover. When I was younger I was always taught that judging a book by its cover is rude and selfish because everyone has a story whether they share it or not people hide and expect others not to see their flaws or where they came from. Why...? I understand people have scary, dark, manipulating and shameful pasts they try to forget but the thing is if you believe it or not those events make us who we are. I don't care how bad they are we have a CHOICE to do good , inspire, give hope , overcome or to be negative, put others down, and not care about nobody but yourself. Basically what I'm trying to say is stop judging, labeling people to make them feel bad about themselves. Why do you want to break someone or have them commit suicide for being human they were made for a reason. Honestly do you ever stop and think about how theirs millions of eggs in your moms uterus and YOU was chosen out of how many....... I don't care what people say. Everyone has a purpose. This may not be how people view the world intentionally but this is how I see it.
