Someone on the internet asked me for a breakdown on my process. I didn’t take screenshots of my thinking process (trying out the original type, different type colors, and the color tweaks I had done along the way) so the jump is kind of large.

Originally Raichu was inside the wave, surfing normally. But, I had opted for a cooler looking albeit kind of unrealistic choice. If you must rationalize it, it’s doing a floater and it’s also a psychic rat that levitates.

Everything was hand-drawn with Manga Studio and touched up in Photoshop. The typeface used is Leckerli One, free for commercial-use.
