A call to arms by the Autobots’ face of fiery rebellion! Like Sideswipe, Hanley Riordan—codename ‘HotRod’ — was a blue-collar rabble-rouser who showed leadership capabilities before he was an Autobot, in which he ran his own gang (The Hounds of Ulster) and made life hell for Sentinel Prime in Belfast. (His affinity for fire was borne from the kindness of a nun tasked with guarding St. Brigid’s Perpetual Flame in Kildare who offered him shelter when he ran away from his sixth and final foster home).

Well, it’s both my preference and my skill limit, so I pour everything into the line art stage. 💀 Still, despite my absolutely trash-tier coloring skills, I add colors anyway because… without them, it might look like some no-lore cringe mess OC—and that terrifies me. 😭

Yep, this is the final design. No more tweaks. If I research any further, my brain’s gonna explode from diving too deep into stuff I barely understand. Fr. 💀🔫

Working on this short comic accidentally took a detour to A Day In The Senate which wasn’t too bad all things considered for worldbuilding purposes even if novice deputy Italian senator Stefan/Starscream is finding this all horribly mundane.  At least the Senator they call Shockwave (representing Pakistan) cares enough to show him around!  Dai would have because Dai’s one of the good ones too, but Dai’s currently busy trying to prepare a filibuster to combat Proteus’ bill to push the automation of mines to 50% by the end of the year (Shame about those miners but he’s sure they won’t have too much trouble finding other work, he’s got business under the table to think about). Decimus is just focused on how much he’s getting paid to visit these grotty establishments way beneath him to deliver the bad news. 

Proteus (Representing the US) and Decimus (representing Italy) get to keep their original names as surnames since it fits their general feel/background.  Dai Atlas (representing Japan) gets to keep his wholesale because it’s badass and lends nicely to his biracial background here as a Japanese-African American.

I won’t be drawing these characters a whole lot save short cameos so this was a fun exercise!
