btw hughie is just as much a hero as annie and i think that’s a big part of s3 but like he saves people just not in the way of saving them from a burning building he saves them emotionally. he’s partially saved butcher from going too far (in early seasons), he saved annie when he reminded her of who she is. hughie campbell IS a superhero

I understand the sentiment here but I would say Hughie is that type of hero as well and has ran into the proverbial burning building multiple times. With no powers, he saved MM, Frenchie and Kimiko with his retainer. With no powers, he administered CPR to A-train when had his first heart attack. And with no powers, he convinced Lamplighter to help break into Vought Tower to save Annie. He just needed to be reminded that he didn’t need powers to do accomplish any of these things.

edit: hey y’all I just wanted to make an edit to this bc @lovewaterforthesoul rightfully corrected me that hughie DOES save people in the burning building way, too. I was more so trying to make the comment that hughie and annie both have very narrow definitions of what it means to be a hero and think of it entirely as the more stereotypical view we having of being a superhero. like, for example, the scene where hughie tells annie she saved him and she’s very confused bc all she did was go bowling with him, even though that was enough to save him. anyways, sorry for the mistake!

The beautiful thing as you get older is that you realize so many “rules” are made up and you can just do whatever. Posters can go anywhere in the house not just my room. I can sit down while cooking a meal or taking a shower. I can make the same thing for breakfast lunch dinner for a week straight. I can roam around the house shirtless. I can wear a dress with jeans. The world is my oyster key word my and I can live as I please embracing little things such as this

Butchie and Starbell Moots

I would like mutuals who ship Butchie (butcher x hughie) and/or starbell (annie x hughie) from the boys. pls read my dni first on my carrd first. a lil about me: I’ve been into the boys since 2023 when I stumbled across gen v not knowing it was part of the boys universe and then watched the boys after. I’m 22, i use she/they pronouns, and im bisexual, autistic, and bipolar. I’m also a self shipper. within the boys, i self ship with both hughie and annie (sometimes together). my favorite characters in the boys are annie, hughie, mm, kimiko, and butcher. gen v wise my favs are sam, emma, marie, and jordan (i do like cate but she’s not a fav). some of my other fav medias outside of the boys are supernatural, haunting of hill house/bly manor, pretty little liars (the og but also the reboots), austin & ally, the little mermaid (1989 and 2023), and the perks of being a wallflower. anyways im excited to get to know y’all :) im trying to be more active on tumblr over twt

I am still going to publish the fanfic I wrote for @carry-on-sapphic-week but it’s going to be a bit late. I ended up spending all day writing fic for another ship so…

cancelling gen v, a show with a diverse, interesting, and deeply endearing cast, in favor of a show that will be dripping in hatred and poorly thought out jokes, just shining more light onto perspectives that do not deserve to be platformed/sympathized within such a terrible political climate.

gen v would’ve been a much better investment, and you can’t deny the blatant racism in cancelling an unfinished show with a black queer woman as the lead, while platforming a very famous white male actor instead.

eric kripke’s lame ass cope is not going to absolve the blatant abandonment of a massive set up to events in the story for no good reason. unless somehow this show sets up a bunch of narrative foreshadowing to marie’s existence and sets up an entire new show w the gen v characters then i rlly don’t want to hear it.

so disappointed, i really loved this show, i hope this spurs creativity in myself and the fandom, its what it deserves :)
