Jeff thumped up the stairs with Kelso on his heels behind him, glancing back over his shoulder to Jared.  “Doubt you’ll find any this time’a year,” He pointed out, but still added, “But if you do find any, then tell me if nothing else, so I can have fun not starving to death.”

He opened the hatch to the bunker and climbed through, squinting in the sunlight.  Standing up on the other side, he took a few steps back to wait for Jared.  Kelso crawled out next, shaking his fur out and taking an obedient seat next to Jeff.

“Follow us,” Jeff told Jared, already making for the woods surrounding them.  “I’ll show you our path.”

Jared nodded, blinking rapidly to keep try and get used to the bright sunlight “alright boss, lead the way then”

“Neither do I, not anymore.  But you know, memories and such.”  Dante let out a sigh and turned a bit in his stool to look out over the rest of the establishment, everyone sitting quietly at their tables and sipping their drinks so politely.  

Last he was here, he fell off the bar in his stiletto boots, and he still had the scar on his forehead to prove it.  God, Remiel laughed all the way through his concern for him, and so did Dante, even with blood trickling from the cut.

Still gazing out over the tavern, he murmured, “Though it appears things have settled significantly since last I was here.”  He smirked, and looked back to Lucifer, asking, “What say we ruffle some feathers, hm?”

Lucifer smirked, downing his second drink and nodding “that’s what I do best, what do you have in mind?”

“Blue?”  Dante blinked and shook his head, his eyes still on Lucifer as he took off his trench coat and draped it over the back of the stool he sat on.  “No, no, I just-”  

Lucifer’s drink caught his attention as the bartender set it down, and he ordered another glass of whiskey for himself, waiting until it was given to him before continuing.

“It’s nothing, I was supposed to meet someone, but–”  He took a sip from his glass and set it down with a shrug.  “I don’t think he’s coming.  Typical of him, really, but even so-”

“I don’t come here often, actually,” Dante admitted, but looked around with a small, nostalgic smile. “I used to, though, back when I was younger, back when…when my friend and I saw each other more often.”

He was thankful for the subject change, and quickly finished his drink. After ordering another, he told Lucifer, “I’m a doctor, actually, hence why I moved to the Ninth Ring. Education opportunities, and all that. Most jobs in the Seventh are either family-owned businesses, or manual labor.”

“A doctor!” Lucifer repeated with some admiration “It’s a fairly new practice down here, isn’t it? where do you normally practice?”

“Oh–as I said, in the Ninth Ring,” Dante said with a nod, carefully stirring his drink in his hand.  “I have an office only about an hour away from the Palace, can you believe that?  Such a valuable spot-”

“is that so? It’s quite a remarkable spot, yes” Lucifer absentmindedly ordered another drink, not even looking at it before taking a sip from it “I suppose it was rather expensive”

“Well–not as expensive as one might believe.”  Dante shook his head, giving a humble shrug as he explained, “I rent the place; now, if I owned it, then that would be another story.”  He smiled a bit and finished off his drink in a final swig before ordering another; subconsciously keeping up with Lucifer and his own.  “Is there anything you like to do in taverns like this?  Any games, or things of the like that interest you?”  He laughed under his breath, adding, “Last I was here, people would collect all together and sing drinking songs with one another, that was a blast; people dancing on the bars and all that.  Definitely nothing you’d see in the Ninth-”

Lucifer smiled, amused but also slightly surprised, didn't this guy know who he was talking to?  Seeing the fact he hadn't left yet, obviously not

“I never find myself engaged in such situations, honestly, I mean, I don't come around often...”

Jared awoke next morning, feeling the beginnings of a headache beating at his temples, he sighed, rubbing his face as he sat up, how long was he asleep for anyway? did it matter at all? 

He looked around a bit disoriented, the happenings of last day finally catching up to him. so that’s why his head hurt

He looked around more carefully this time, laying back down once he noticed Jeff still asleep -or at least still laying down- on his own cot

Jeff had barely slept, on the lookout for Jared getting up to anything strange overnight.  As things were, he knew it wasn’t wise to trust someone–no matter how desperate they seemed–so readily.  

When Jared stirred, Kelso looked up from where he lay curled up at the foot of Jeff’s cot.  Jeff he went still, listening intently for anything off-kilter, but was able to relax a bit when Jared lay back down.

So he sat up himself, Kelso standing upon his movement, and tossed his worn-out blanket aside as he stood.

The fox followed Jeff as he made his way across the room, his only interaction with Jared being a heavy tap on the side of his cot.  

“Come on,” He told him, pulling his boots on next to the entrance to their sleeping quarters.  “Time to check the traps.”

Jared rubbed his face as he got off the cot, catching up to Jeff after pulling his shoes on “alright, I’m right behind you, did you manage to sleep at all?” He asked, still groggy, trying to get a conversation going to fully pull himself to his senses

“Some.  How ‘bout you?”  Jeff kept things short, turning to a set of hooks on the wall next to the entrance and pulling down a camouflage vest.  He put it on, pulling at the hem to show Jared and telling him, “Bulletproof.  Stole it from a hunting section of a wholesale store before everything went to shit.  Maybe we’ll be able to find you one at some point.”

“Maybe so!” Jared pulled his jacket a bit tighter around himself, never losing the smile though “I slept well enough, honestly, almost forgot about the mess I would wake up to…so, where are we headed this fine and perfectly zombie free morning?”

“Yeah, let’s hope so” Jeff muttered, without much semblance of said hope.  He passed Jared to go for his crossbow in the corner of the room, and once he’d picked it up, he did the same with a tin bucket, thrusting it into Jared’s arms.  “You don’t got any weapons, do you?”  He asked.  “‘Til we can get you some, your job is to collect any edible plants you can find; berries, roots, that kinda thing; got it?

Jk, this bitch can't live without some attention, I mean certainly he would not DIE like Tinkerbell, but what is the fun to be on earth if no one is going to notice him!!Second is some good whiskey, again, not vital, but he does get antsy when he hasn't drunk anything in a while, he loves plain whiskey as much as whiskey soursThird is some entertainment, He personally finds humans AMUSING and will get in their affairs as much as possible, I mean ages of just living around demons certainly made him want to die of sheer boredom at times

Jared was never one for superstitions? Sure he had some things he would do before a mission that stuck to this day out of usage, like sitting by the door before leaving for a little while after fully getting ready in wait of any ill luck that might be lingering outside to go away as well as tap the barrel/scope of whichever weapon he was holding for luck, he believes if he does that he won't miss a shot

Darcy would like her Father back pls, not that she is ungrateful for what she has now or the support Jared gave her during her teens, but she does get melancholic at times thinking about how he never got to see her marry or meet the girls at all. She is sure he would have loved them and Ingrid.

Tight Space: Does your muse ever feel that they’re not living up to their own potential?

Shannon is very convinced she is using her whole potential to do what she loves most, that being said, she does think the would have made a killer (snrk) ballerina, but she was never allowed to pursue that path, she also hates that she cannot play violin as well as she would like to, but being as busy of a woman as she is, she hardly has time to practice

Since she was the only female on the team when their...business got started, she often was used as bait, once she was actually taken before the team got there and was waterboarded she was in the ICU for a couple days after they got her back with high risk of dry drowning, amazingly, she came out with just some minor damage from it (she broke her arms in two sections trying to break free from her restraints))
