Wildstar Model Rip Tutorial

Because I’ve wanted to learn how to rip models for EIGHT YEARS NOW. I want to share what I learned yesterday in like a 4-5 hour trial of confusion.

HUUUUGE Thanks to @badaxefamily for helping me learn! Everyone go give them a high five!

These are the steps *I* took to rip my characters model. I can only get you as far as getting .OBJ files. But you can open and edit those in almost ANY 3D Program!

Here’s the GoogleDoc tutorial! It has pictures if you’re like me and easily lost, and a link to a set of four short videos of what it looks like to rip a model and shove it in a 3D program. It’s not perfect, I’m just one guy as confused as you who loves topology. Forgive any spelling errors, I made this at 3am-5am.

Suggestions and better versions of this tutorial are welcome!

ooc; After months spent deep in research to investigate the disease that has inflicted so many of those he loves - and himself - Alexei aided some of his friends in their exploration of an abandoned Eldan system.

They met a mysterious Eldan AI named V.E.L.A. who had created horrific metallic amalgamations of false creatures to keep her company while her programs degraded over time. They sought to absorb the genetic material of those who trespassed to make their incomplete bodies whole.

Only time will tell how much of the data they extracted will be useful, but Alexei is grateful for any medical advancements they can find.

Wildstar Directory of Housing Awesomeness

Hello Nexus Housing!

Do you have random player names written on scraps of paper littering your desk so you can remember places you want to revisit? Do you think it would be helpful to have all that clutter gone and have access to one searchable document for easy referencing? Well, that is what I finally did after years of being too lazy to type it all out! I have started a searchable/editable housing directory for NA and thought that I would make it open to everyone!

My hope that we can all maintain the list as a community by entering plot information and updating it as necessary. This list is for any NA plot that is public (or accessible by comm entry). Plots do not have to be “finished” to be included.
