CONCEPT

Step 2/3 is the second part of Gemi’s multi-part project, THREE. While strong vocals were anticipated, we couldn’t image the all-star list of features for this release. Seojun of CO:HRT, Bin of OK:GO, E:JEI and Cosmo of UTOPIA, as well as Basick, Bang, and Saint, all contributed to vocals and raps, as well as gave a helping hand in production. Step 2/3 focuses on the aspects of both love and loss within a relationship. From a love that has reached it’s climax, to love that only continues to blossom despite looking into the face of adversity, Step 2/3 conveys it all in four tracks. Gemi’s strong vocals are well matched with each featuring artist on this project. Each song seems to be just right for each artist, and no track is worth a skip.

Currently, TQ is undergoing some changes, old members returning to us and cleaning out of dead groups, leaving us with plenty of places for new members! As far as members are concerned; we are currently open to new groups. We are looking to add groups to our rosters that have at least 2 members in their roster already. The bakery is closed for the evening, and the pair has taken residence in the back of the shop which held the kitchen. It’s a quiet place after closing and has everything they need. The kitchen itself is organized and labeled, allowing the other to easily find all the tools. When the idol had approached her, it wasn’t something she could say no to. There were two things she could easily talk about, and those were books and baking- so being able to express her love of it through teaching made her happy.

As he gathered up the materials, she flips through one of her mother’s binders filled with recipes to make sure she was remembering all the proportions correctly for the different cookie recipes. Placing the binder to the side as he speaks, her thoughts begin to turn, walking through the process in her head. “Well there are two decisions you need to make before we start. What kind of cookie do you want to make? And do you want to make drop cookies, so just plain circles, or cutout cookies, any shape that isn’t the standard circle? The dough composition is different for flavors and shapes.” 

As questions are thrown his way, Seojun could already feel himself getting puzzled over the apparent decisions he had to make. What kind of cookies he wanted to make? He didn’t even know there were different kinds let alone which ones he wanted to choose to make. “Uh...” He had started to speak but without the ability to make a choice, he could only shrug his shoulders with a look of hopelessness on his features. It donned on him then that he wasn’t even sure is his girlfriend had a specific type of cookie she liked-- he assumed this whole time they were all the same but with different flavours. “Whichever you think is better?” He seemed to think that trusting Eunseong would be the smart choice, since she was the baking expert between the two after all. 

He then busied himself with looking through the recipes she had been looking at just before, trying to find a certain recipe he would want to bake. Pictures was really all that Seojun was looking at, he assumed that as long as it looked and sounded good, it would be good! Perhaps he should have been looking at recipes that were on the more...simple side but that thought didn’t seem to cross his mind at all. It was then that he stopped flipping the pages when he landed on a recipe that looked rather promising. “Is this one easy?” He gently pushes the recipe binder towards the female, finger pointing at the recipe on the left side of the binder. “Mint Chocolate Chip cookies...” His voice gradually grew quieter as he read the recipe from top to bottom. He assumed it would be fine, but then again, what did he know?

“…I guess that’s one way to avoid embarrassment.” Seojun gave the tall male an amused look, trying his best to control his laughter but to no avail. He brought the back of his palm up to meet his lips, attempting to at least silence his laugh since he wasn’t able to avoid it. He had seen what happened and as embarrassing as the incident was, he wouldn’t go as far as hiding from the world. The other had to be exaggerating but even if he wasn’t, who was Seojun to care? The only real thing he was curious about was how the male had managed to land himself in such a situation. “How did that even happen?” He asked, with a raised brow and a curious tone.

A faint laugh slipped past her lips as she read over the message flashing across the screen. Rolling over completely to lay on her stomach, getting closer to the side where her charger was plugged into the wall. Her fingers pressed against the characters that formed her reply a small smile turning up the corners of her lips. She wasn’t one for a lot of the romantic comedies that so many people gobbled up lately. Yet, the scene was faintly visible in her mind as she replied. Honestly, some birds were extremely ugly, but maybe they meant to be the nicer looking birds? Who knows. Why be a bird in the first place?

[ sms: 3day oppa ] why are you even watching it? I would think you would be out celebrating or something?

[ sms: 3day oppa ] What other movies are you torturing yourself with? 

The movie was still playing on the television after he had set a sporadic message to his same-aged friend (who he liked to tease by calling her ‘dongsaeng’ as a joke). Seojun wasn’t really paying attention to it, only looking up every now and then when he heard the characters say something idiotic. Exhibit A: just a few minutes ago when the main characters were comparing themselves to birds. It wasn’t his choice of movie, he blamed his artsy indie-music loving friends, the type of people you see around Hongdae late at night. They were all supposed to be celebrating the release of his solo album and though they had gone out for a good round of dinner and drinks, somehow they were cramped up in the back of one of his friend’s cafes watching the movie through a projector. So when his phone buzzed and notified him of Zinnie’s reply, it was almost instantaneous that he reached for his phone and quickly typed up a reply. 

[ outgoing sms to: 3day “dongsaeng” ] I was out celebrating but now I’m here with my idiot friends -__- 

[ outgoing sms to: 3day “dongsaeng” ] If I had a choice I would much rather be somewhere else where this dumb movie isn’t playing.

“you think everything i say is fake so i’ll just let that be.” she says, completely tired of his attitude whenever she says something. seojun had always been like this and yet she has to be patient with his annoying ass for the sake of work. “can you just tell me what you think so i can leave?” she says in a huff, pushing her phone towards him. 

"Not tru--” He was about to fight back but he realized fairly quickly that maybe, just maybe, Dylan had a point. Could she blame him though? There were more times than not, that the female had chosen to pull one over on him and he wasn’t so sure this time would be any different. He was one to take his work seriously and the same couldn’t be said for the female-- at least in his eyes. But he took the phone from her anyway, not before giving her one last suspicious look. Pressing the play button with his thumb, he was surprised to hear an actual tune sound from the speakers. “Huh, this isn’t half bad actually. You actually made this?”

` ❀  ─ “ Eh. ” Solbin pursed her lips. “ Well, you didn’t ask. So I figured you knew about it. ” The corner of her lips curled into a smile. “ You are one of those guys that happened to know things even without anyone telling them. Walking encyclopedia sort of thing. I guess, that’s a good thing. ” With a firm nod, she burst into laughter. “ No, seriously. I really thought you knew because I swore I mentioned it once. But hey, now that you know, please support me on Idol Party! ” 

He was one of those guys that knows things even without people telling him? ...Surely Solbin wasn’t talking about Seojun because he certainly wasn’t anywhere near being like that. He was someone that showed slight disinterest in things that don’t concern the people he cared about and sure he hears things from the people around him about others, but he just can’t seem to make himself care. With a shake of his head he refuted her statement. “I didn’t but I do now. I don’t remember you mentioning it but nonetheless, congratulations on Idol Party!” He showed a genuine smile towards the younger female, knowing just how hard it is to do well in other people’s eyes these days. “Learn lots from the seniors, okay? I’m sure you’ll find it useful later on in your career. Mention me sometime on the show.” He laughed, nudging the female with his elbow.

“Do I? I’m sure there is no correlation between us because I’m normally not this clever with words.” Taehyun flashed a crooked smile as his hands slid into the front pockets of his pants and shrugged his shoulders ever so slightly. He wasn’t sure if it was just him, but the werewolf could hear a sense of wistfulness in Seojun’s tone as he spoke, almost as if he was remembering something from his past. Truthfully, he didn’t know the other male that well to confidently say they were friends, but Taehyun did know he enjoyed the latter’s presence. It was fascinating to listen to Seojun express his passion towards music since it was something Taehyun himself lacked. Sure, he was competitive when it came to running, but he wouldn’t call it a passion. Side glancing at the other male, he clicked his tongue trying to recall what exactly brought him to speak. “Well, think of our lives this way. If nothing interesting happens in our lives, it’s a boring story, don’t you think? Seeking thrill and the unpredictability of life is what makes an interesting twist to a person’s story.”

“I figured that much out on my own.” There was a quiet fit of laughter from the idol because it was true, of all the times the two have spoken, this may be the first Seojun had ever heard anything as philosophical from the other. But with that being said, the pair were only mere acquaintances and he couldn’t say much about Taehyun’s character nor intelligence. The only thing he really knew about the other, not counting that Seojun didn’t actually mind having him around, was that he was on the track team at Seoul national University. That was where the two had met in the first place. The two were in different majors, with Taehyun pursuing Sociology and Seojun taking classes in Communications-- well, if one could count attending class twice a month as taking classes. As of late he had to resort to online classes and he hardly appeared on campus, only showing up for important exam dates and if it was necessary to speak to his professors. Today was one of those days, for the latter reasoning that is. Shifting his position as he stands, he leaned his back against one of the walls of the hallways before glancing over at the other. “Yes and no. It might be boring but at least it’s stable, but then again I do hate surprises so these twists in life you’re going on about? Not really for me. I prefer knowing what’s going to happen but it doesn’t always work out that way.”
