Im really conflicted at the moment, I unsubscribed from Jack but im still kind of lurking in the community because i really dont want to fully leave and I saw he teased possible ego stuff on twitter and im just kind of disappointed in my self for being excited about ego stuff because i know I'll just get sad again when i realize he's not going to do anything with it.

In terms of the ego stuff on Twitter - is it possible you saw the edited tweet? I don’t believe he’s teased anything at all recently.

I used to get very excited about Ego activity, so I get where you’re coming from. Don’t be disappointed in yourself, you can’t help it if you’re still excited! It’s frustrating to see all of his teasers for things that have ultimately led to nothing so far. As a creator, he should wait until he has a better idea of what he wants to do, if anything. I’ve often said that if he doesn’t have a story yet or if he doesn’t want to do the story, he should just let us know rather than keeping us in the dark like this.

Thank you for the ask, love, and don’t worry about whether or not your reactions to things are valid. They are always valid. A lot of us are in the same boat as you; we desperately want something Ego-wise to happen, but it looks like we’re not going to get that for a very long time, if ever :c

Honestly, I think it’s extremely telling that just because you asked for people’s opinions, suddenly there's an onslaught of defensive maneuvers in the comments. People cannot have slightly negative (or even neutral) opinions about Sean and his content anymore without others getting on their case. It’s childish :/

Okay so both the server and blog for jse-communi-tea vanished. I can only assume the owner ditched it. Figures right? I also can probably guess that some fight ensued in the server. Which is of ZERO surprise to me, not trying to sound bad or anything like that or mean! (Sorry if I do.)

Hi op! I’m gonna comment on this a little bit. LGBT people are allowed to be upset by this. When someone apologizes, it doesn’t mean they have to be forgiven. I’m a member of the LGBT community and I’ve forgiven him, sure, but there are other people here who feel hurt and betrayed by the jokes he laughed at. We’re allowed to be upset when he employs a homophobic editor, plays this type of game, and makes really gross jokes about AIDS.

Also! Jack isn’t exempt from change! He’s changed the way he addresses his audience, he’s changed the way he presents himself in videos. And you’re right! We don’t know him personally! But it’s not unfair of us to note changes in his behavior when we watch his videos.

I see the argument that “he’s only human”, and while that’s true, I think it’s honestly a shoddy argument. Just because he’s human doesn’t mean we have to let stuff slide. 

We said, “hey Sean, maybe don’t promote a transphobic and homophobic video!”

And Sean said, “oh, I didn’t realize! My bad. I’ll take it down.”

We said, “Thanks! We’re glad that you can recognize your mistakes and make efforts to fix them.”

We’re not saying he’s a perfect being. We’re not saying he’s a god. We’re not saying he’s better than us. We’re simply noticing problems and bringing them to light. If we were to coddle and baby him because he’s a celebrity, that wouldn’t be fair to him or to us.

Y’all, there’s a simple distinction between what Mark did and what Sean did. Notch is an out and proud transphobe. People are generally okay with their favorite Youtubers enjoying Notch’s creation, Minecraft, because those views are in no way present within the game. However, if Notch made a game called “Beat The Homos” and someone plays it, that’s completely different. Y’all know that but act like you don’t.

With making a statement on the issue, its less about 'fixing her', and more about establishing a line between what is and isn't acceptable content/jokes. As for feeling angry about it, i think its perfectly understandable to be angry with him for not making a statement, but I understand if you don't feel the same.

No I do see what you mean. It’s alright we don’t see it the same way! People disagree on stuff lol, I’ve met people who think they had to agree on everything all the time.

But even though I really really hope that your intentions were perfectly innocent, seeing a game with such overtly homophobic and transphobic messages up on the channel has made several queer people here feel unsafe around you, and I really hope you can rectify the situation, cause it sucks. I’ve taken down the video. Wasn’t aware just HOW bad it was and especially didn’t know how shitty and awful the developers were outside of the game. Some of it seemed like dumb teenager edgy humour but I didn’t realise that it stemmed from the devs having pretty awful mentalities IRL too. That recontextualises a lot of it and isn’t something I want to endorse. 

I’m sorry that this happened at all.I don’t want people to think that I align with that behaviour and think it’s “cool”
