W13. Hand in & Reflection
Since the boxes weren't put out yet, I handed in my poster alongside where the other early submissions were.
and handed the essay and digital copy at home later.
Reflection
I found this exploration of my work in relation to the creative communities I am fostering interesting. I usually look towards other work during any project to get inspiration or a look at what I am heading towards - it also helps explain my concepts before I am actually finished. Exploring that in-depth was enlightening, It also led to me discovering creatives I wasn't aware of before this class but I can see myself following and referencing them in future work as well. I enjoyed the research and writing process as none of my other classes gives me the opportunity to do research and form thematic connections of this sort and be so 'open' with how I want to research. There weren't any obvious challenges during this process from the perspective of the tasks set out but I found how unsure everyone was of what was allowed and what was not in our poster to be limiting initially. It was hard to design my poster when I wasn't sure if I was able to format it how I wanted to (across two pages, with elements mixed), and with no clear instructions it was allowed. It delayed the writing and designing process at the beginning of the second term but once it was more set in stone it was easy to pick up work and start iteration cycles. Generally, the brief changing throughout the term was confusing but towards the end of the semester, it was relatively easy to follow along and get my deliverables ready for submission. I think the connections I have made in my work regarding themes; girlhood, psychogeography, storytelling and conventions; collage, photography, and handwritten type will relate to my future work and have made my past 'graviations' more clear and meaningful.
