The sam & robby hate in s6 is insane, sam did NOT lead axel on she literally saw him getting abused by his sensei and wanted to be his friend this could've reminded her of Kim & Tory and hawk calling him a "monster" Similar how people called tory a "psychopath & crazy" when they are js misunderstood

Robby did NOT cheat on tory he was sa'ed , Tory also didn't cheat on robby kwon was js flirting with her and messing with robby , Zara and Kwon never had any "good" romantic moments with tory & robby.

the thing about writing powerful rivals, rick, is that you need to actually show us that they have equal amounts of power 😭 especially when the rival is the son of the king of olympus.
you can't make percy magically one up jason, randomly knock jason out in every fight so that he doesn't get to use his abilities, and shoehorn every character commenting on their "rivalry" and call it a day.
even little things like percy getting the gorgon's blood and jason not getting his memories up until very late in the books show preferential treatment
jason was considered percy's "competitor" yet it felt like he was only there to show us how ridiculously OP percy was. what was the point of making them roman and greek representatives of eachother if you don't let jason unleash his full potential intentionally because you're scared the fandom will like jason more?
people hate robby for still hating miguel after the school fight but like. ok pov. your absentee dad has been out of your life for like sixteen years and finally is kind of a little bit trying to make an effort, so you think okay how about it and you go and try to find him only to find out he’s hugging some other random kid. and then in retaliation you go work for/become the student of your dad’s decades-long karate rival, and while you’re tangled up in this scheme you go to a party with your boss/sensei’s daughter who you’re like kind of into and then that other kid is there and he's also her boyfriend. and he’s super drunk and possessive and tries to hit you and ends up hitting her and you’re like wow he’s kind of an asshole. and then not too long after, your scheme has been exposed, you’re at the tournament, you’re fighting this guy in the finals after your shoulder just got busted by his buddy. he’s really coming after you and targeting your shoulder but after you land a hit you think what the hell and offer him a hand, and he attacks your shoulder instead. and then he beats you and you go home second place and he goes home with your dad. and then his friends and dojo spend the whole next summer coming after you and trashing your dojo, except then one day he shows up on your doorstep (well your boss/sensei’s doorstep) to return the medal his dojo took and he’s actually being kind of not terrible. and maybe you think it’s a fluke or maybe you think he’s changed but either way it’s not your business, you don’t tell your girlfriend, you move on. then there’s a party. your girlfriend gets way too drunk and cheats on you with him except you don’t know that yet. his girlfriend starts a massive fight at school over it, and now you do know. she was drunk, though, so you think maybe he took advantage of her. you’re genuinely trying to break up the fight and then he comes out of nowhere and attacks you, and now you’re in an all out school brawl, and he throws your dad back in your face. and then he shows you mercy. but it kind of feels like pity, and you’re thinking of him wrenching your arm, so you kick him, but it goes way too far, now he’s falling over the railing. the fight stops. everyone’s looking at you. you run. and you do feel bad about it. like, really. but then you’re in juvie and your dad doesn’t show up to be with him. then you get out of juvie and go to the one place where you’ve always felt safe, and you find him with your (ex?) girlfriend. and he looks fine. and it looks like he won. he got the tournament, and your dad, and your girlfriend, and your dojo. so fuck him, right? maybe you’d do it again.
Some glazers will really say Percy had it so much harder for having to fight his way through to get to Camp Jupiter.
The same glazers will then forget the fact that throughout Jason's childhood, he never had a Sally Jackson, he never had a Grover Underwood, he never had the amount of emotional support Percy had. Sure, he might have had some friends but they were also expecting him to be a leader of Camp Jupiter and so on.
Jason's childhood is so much harder because he didn't have a place to rest back on. His only safe space was a camp that wanted him for his abilities and forced him, knowingly or unknowingly, into the mold of a leader. And that says a lot about how relaxed he could be as a kid.
Sure, Percy and Jason had equal feats but Jason still had it harder because he had next to NOTHING TO FALL BACK ON.

my roman empire is that jason thought he was good friends with hazel, considering that jason probably welcomed hazel when she first came to camp jupiter, but in HOH hazel said she would rather be in a room with anyone else but jason.

I absolutely love this article, and find it very touching. So today I’m going to go through and touch on some of my favorite parts of this one!
Spoilers for the Heroes of Olympus and Trials of Apollo series.
I’ve loved Jason Grace since I was in elementary school. Even though my old elementary-middle school didn’t have TLO in the library (it being the only book of the 10 in the main series it lacked, sadly), it did have the TLO graphic novel adaptation, which cut some things out most likely but was a fun read because of all the pictures anyway.
But that is partially beside the point—by the time Jason’s character was killed off in the 2018 TOA book The Burning Maze, I was completely attached to his character. I got to know all of our favorites originally through the HoO series (before I read PJO) and I never quite have forgotten the feeling I felt the first time I read Chapter One of Blood of Olympus, in which Jason met a mania of his mother and we get more Jason backstory lore than the three previous books combined.
So I loved Jason’s character. I loved the Roman camp and I loved Jason for all of his self-sacrificing, loyal, childish ways, and I still do, so of course I wanted to go through this article for funsies and point out my favorite parts and points.
And with no further ado:
Introduction
This article is already off to a good start to me! Some things I noticed:
It tackles the “boring” accusations that people have been throwing around basically since the first HoO book came out in 2010 (about 15 years ago now).
“The friend you know will always be there for you, no matter what you’re going through.” 🥹🥹🥹 Jason really is that guy.
This just reminds me of how much I relate to Jason because I am that friend in the group chat.
IMPORTANT THING TO NOTICE: no mention of Jup*ter (🤮) here.
I like how they emphasize that we need to move forward and carry Jason’s story on. I’ve found (and participated in) a lot of ignoring Jason’s death in the fandom, which of course is perfectly normal and acceptable fan behavior, but I also do believe that his death plays a big role in not only the Trials of Apollo, but also Jason’s character arc. It gives us a look into his past and shows us how he was never really afforded a future. It reminds me a bit of the line in the new Percy book (which, admittedly, I have not read yet) that talks about the “debt [demigods] owe for existing.” How heartbreaking—but important for the narrative. We as readers must remember that the foundation of this world is not meant to be one that treats our characters well—that is why they must be heroes in the first place. They certainly didn’t choose to be.
I’ll admit that I was hoping for some elaboration on Jason’s backstory (pre-TLO) in this article, but it does only include things that occur in the books.

Do we need a tally of how many times Jason gets brainwashed into fighting his friends? 😭 It seems like we have a theme going here.
I love how they emphasize the title “Champion of Juno.” That’s a really important part of his character that I feel we overlook sometimes.
On a more serious note re: the previous point, I actually do think that this represents Jason’s lack of autonomy in his own life. He’s never been able to choose something for himself—he was given to Juno as a sacrifice at age 3; was sent to Lupa; somewhere down the line ended up at Camp Jupiter, where he earned 12 stripes by age 15. (PLEASE remember that Jason is younger than Percy, guys. PLEASE.) Then, Jason’s memories are wiped, his new friends get fake ones of him where they remember him as a completely different person (a more “fun,” version, notably, which might be one of the starting places of the “boring” accusations). Jason still has no autonomy, and honestly, that’s by design—his father never wanted him to have any, and neither did any other god or goddess. Jason is a victim of the narrative, forced to serve people and positions and put his true self aside—resulting in him “not having a personality.”
I’ll move on so to not clog too much.
I love the acknowledgement of Jason having Absolutely No Idea what is happening throughout TLO. Bro is completely lost.

Grace vs. Jackson
I like how they emphasize how in the times that they do willingly fight over things in the series, it’s not super serious. They’re not battling it out to solve a serious moral difference or anything: they’re just two teenage boys. 🤣

camp jupiter is BUILT to make children into machines. work as a machine, work with the group to be a machine. or, be spare parts. it is rigid. it is unforgiving. it is built to suppress individuality. the MOST autonomy jason grace got was joining the lower end of the cohorts of the legion, was a failing petition against a traditional board.
jason grace grew up in camp jupiter. not like hazel, frank, percy, nico, etc., who were only there for a year or two at MOST. he grew up there. if i had to guess, i would say age 5 through age 15-- roughly a decade. everything he learned there is going to be DRILLED into him.
yes, he is going to seem boring.
the whole POINT of it is so he can have his character arc of "i dont really want to follow the rules..?" that he doesn't want to be praetor, he just wants to be a normal kid at camp half-blood and live with piper and leo. and thats what MAKES him a character that ISNT boring.
