Week 3 Day 2

We had a little boy (age 6) break down into tears today. it was home time, the time when everyone plays in the gym till their parents come to sign them out. he burst into tears for the second day in a row because he missed his mom. I love these kids but sometimes...

Week 3 Day 1

We're at almost the halfway point of our day camp. So we have a bunch of new kids for this week. We had a kid start crying as a combined result of him getting into a bit of trouble and him being homesick. He cried for a good 20-30 mins. And then he was perfectly fine. Sometimes all you need is a good cry.

I might get set up

One of our LITs said to me out of the blue that she was gonna try and set me up with her sister. Which is confusing because I’m now wondering if she had this same conversation with her sister. She described her sister as “blonde, blue eyes, curvy, I think you’d like her” But now I wonder how I was described… What can you really say about me. I’m a nerdy camp counselor with too much time on his hands. Most of my free time is spent between anime, video games, and my track club. Aside from that I’m average in just about every way possible except that I’m good at school. But what else is there to say about me. I’m more nerdy than I am a jock, and I’m pretty sure that being nerdy doesn’t really help much.

Short Shorts

My sister is always complaining about how hard it is to shop for girl's clothes. She complains that she can't find any shorts long enough or jeans that aren't too tight. If it's so hard to find girls clothes and guys have such an easier time picking clothes then just shop for guys clothes. It's not like anyone will ever notice that you're wearing a pair of guys shorts while out on the street. For fuck's sake people life isn't as complicated as you think it is...

Day 4 of Week 2

We had a camper today cut himself on grass. Not the prickly weeds that you find sometimes, just grass... This was at the same time as one of our campers was picking flowers and found a zucchini. I kid you not, she found a zucchini in a fenced in field. All of our campers are super surprised that I can jump. We have basketball nets out and on good days I can dunk on 9.5 ft. Which isn't half bad. For whatever reason though the campers love it.

So this girl I've asked out a couple times now, and who's turned me down both times, still talks to me regularly. I was trying to explain this anime that I was watching (the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya) and said that one of the characters is more-or-less God. She said that I should try dating her instead. I replied with, "I already tried, but you said no." That by far was te smoothest shit I've ever said...

This Day Camp

This would be the 2nd day of the 2nd week of this camp. For whatever reason one of the campers from the previous week came to the conclusion that me and one of the female counsellors were dating. He said that we were because we "talk to each other." If only dating were that easy
