No gag manga has ever gagged harder or longer than one piece. Oda started with a main character that was basically Goku crossed with Bugs Bunny and given Mister Fantastic’s superpower and then drew 1200 chapters of slapstick about him (and once an arc one of the funny haha joke side characters is revealed to have the saddest backstory you’ve ever heard and now Luffy has to punch somebody about it).

The truly hilarious thing about One Piece is that 'funny haha side character is revealed to have the saddles backstory you've ever heard and now Luffy has to punch somebody about it' could literally be half the arcs in the series
Other reasons this show is so stupid and so good:
There's this woman with 85 kids who rules over a group of islands made almost entirely of food and her and almost all of her children are named after different types of food
One of the major antagonist groups is made up of members who are each based on a different famous Japanese actor and are all their own unique type of completely batshit insane
Arguably the most psychotic character in the series is based off a fucking flamingo
All of these characters are absolutely terrifying and should generally be avoided at all costs
There's a character whose name is just. Limejuice. Like that's his first name
One character is just Garfield if he was insanely strong and he ruled over a kingdom full of furries
This kingdom is on top of a giant elephant
There's another character who has three heads and none of them agree with each other and it's later revealed that they are in fact three separate individuals who pretend to be a single person. The only explanation given is that they are just really good friends
Arguably the scariest location in the series is ruled by a guy who spends most of his time on the toilet due to constant diarrhoea
This is completely self induced and the character is still shown to be completely terrifying and is in fact never defeated by the main character
Near the bottom of the prison there's a secret area of escaped presumed dead prisoners ruled by and mostly populated by ✨the queers✨
Their leader is one of the most important members of a revolutionary militia and is in fact strong enough to deflect cannonballs by winking at them
This is never explained and they are still not powerful enough to be considered a top tier
One of the main characters wields three swords (one is in his mouth) and is seen as completely terrifying to most other characters
Most of his attacks are sushi puns
One of the characters is just an insert for every fanboy under the sun
