I just became an F1 fan due to the ships and now I want to understand how cars work, don’t judge.

Okay so, I been sharing ideas about carcar, but I have a lot more, and I need an idea of what to post after I finish the Landoscar fic I have.

So, here you go. A Master List of all my Carcar ideas.

1. Super power AU where those with powers are hunted and killed because they “are dangerous”.

Carlos is a hunter, but he gets powers after a traumatic experience, so he’s scared someone will discover and kill him. And Oscar is a “guardian” (someone who protects those with powers because they have a bunch of abilities).

So, when Carlos discovers Oscar’s safe space while Oscar identifies Carlos has powers they need to learn how to help and trust the other one while they’re protecting their own friends and families in the process.

2. Beta Oscar (actually an Alpha) discovering that his omega mate and partner for life is Carlos and having to deal with the idea of being the only one between them who knows this is happening.

Usually Omegas are the ones with the ability to “find” their alphas, but Oscar was raised by and with Omegas. So, instinctually, he knows how to find his other half. But he pretends he’s a Beta because it’s easier for his career.

While Carlos was raised by Alphas, so he doesn’t understand a lot of his Omega instincts and abilities. This, of course, includes his understanding of his feelings for Oscar.

Featuring Lando having the time of his life after discovering Oscar’s secrets. Carlos having mixed feelings about the Australian due to the closeness he has with his (previous) teammates. And Charles, Logan, Max, and Mark trying to help Oscar.

Of course, this idea includes them sharing heats and ruts because I can.

3. One version of my Red string of fate AU (the other version can be read here but it’s a Carlandoscar version) with Oscar discovering really young his soulmate is Carlos Sainz Jr. but not saying anything once they actually met.

After Spa 2023 Oscar loses his ability to see their thread, which usually means their destiny together has crumbled into pieces and the universe has decided they should not be together. So he starts to pretend it never happened and he never knew about it.

But, instead of the world deciding they should no longer be together, Carlos gets Oscar’s ability and now he’s the one who is pushing everything to make Oscar look on his direction (His last attempt is Miami and we know what happened there)

For those expecting angst from this one, this idea is not so sad in my mind because it’s like an immediate change. Oscar decides to give Carlos some space so he can move on and Carlos goes obsessed with Oscar because “Oscar and him are soulmates! Lando! Your muppet friend finally found his other half!”

(After Miami both see the thread so they decide to talk about it when they have the time. That’s why after Monaco they are so soft around each other)

4. Oscar as Alonso’s adopted son who had a crush on Carlos since he was little. He was adopted by the Spaniard after some traumatic experiences for the Australian, so, when Nando finds the kid walking alone in Asturias (and after a lot of legal investigations) he adopts the boy and starts teaching him everything he knows about karts.

And Carlos, how grew up admiring Alonso, meeting the young boy he adopted and having the same crush but being too scared of Fernando to even think about making a move.

Carlos, of course, is Oscar’s first everything (friend, crush, loml, rival, sports enemy, frenemy, situationship, fwb, and so on), so Oscar is always scare they are not going to work. While Carlos is having constant meltdowns because he wants Oscar so much it scares him.

5. Hidden relationship, where they accidentally got married in Las Vegas after 2023 race and now they need to keep it in secret until they find the way to get an annulment.

When I say “secret relationship “ it’s their marriage. Before that they were in a… mess, because it was not even a situationship, but too much drinks and now they’re married.

I don’t do comedy, but this is basically, everything that could go wrong, goes horribly wrong.

6. Oscar being Mark and Fernando’s daughter (she transitioned from male to female) and was adopted by the Piastri family a year after she was born. +20 years later, she’s a motoGP driver instead of a F1 driver.

She, of course, is still Logan’s friend (and sister thanks to Jenson, but that is another can of worms, part of the fic drama), so she goes to a F1 race after having a bad incident with Marc Marquez and Carlos is like “Marc could have won and she is the one to blame.”

Then Carlos crashes with Logan and Oscar is mad because “this was Logan’s race, everything in this sport is so unfair.”

So, when they met both are mad with the other (yes, it’s Spa, but with different flavor). They don’t fight because they’re not in the same sport, but “fuck him/her. They are so bad they should retire.”

(Cut this to both being drunk in the same bar by accident and having a one night stand both “regret” and praying to never met the other again. Just for them to meet time and time again because Fernando is a little shit and enjoys the drama they do each time they are together.

Of course, he doesn’t know Carlos is “doing” a lot of things to his sweet baby daughter every time they are alone. But Logan swore he would never say anything).

7. 2021 Prema Oscar ends up playing “Marry, Kiss, Kill” with his teammates during and he picks Carlos, Charles and Seb as his options for the game. (They’re playing with Ferrari drivers only)

Carlos heard him and it’s been hanging over their heads the fact that Oscar jokingly (but also seriously) said he would pick Carlos, but Carlos never heard for what because he had a meeting so he needed to leave.

(This was based on the lyric of “so high school” from TS, where she says that she bets on all three for her and her lover. And Carcar definitely gives me those vibes)

8. Prema Oscar meeting Carlos in 2021 and getting to date him. They keep their relationship hidden during 2022, but it’s harder for them to ignore each other once they’re together in formula one. So they decide to “beef” with each other to keep the other close without anyone noticing it.

The only ones who know about them are Charles, Logan and Fernando. Charles because Carlos is his teammate and it’s his fault (and Arthur’s) that they met. Logan because he’s Oscar’s best friend and knows him more than anybody else. And Fernando because him and Mark are like Oscar’s grid parents, and he knows Carlos too well, so he knew something was up (it’s not because he found them making out after Oscar revealed his contract with McLaren. Not at all.)

9. Chatfic with Nico R. as Oscar’s adoptive brother (but more like a father figure) and Lewis as the “fun brother” (also Oscar’s father figure). And both of them panicking after Oscar starts to get the attention from different drivers.

Brocedes fixing their shit because they can hate each other, try to kill each other, but they will never allow their (son) sibling to be in a relationship with another driver. They know how messy that goes.

(Of course, Carcar is the endgame ship here)

10. Modern Royal Prince! Oscar and just some guy Carlos. Carlos is just some guy how knocked up Prince Oscar (they were already together) so now he needs to show everyone he’s worth of being Oscar’s future husband.

(Carlos knew Oscar was a Prince but he thought it was a joke. That’s why he’s not mad with Oscar but with himself)

11. Past lives AU. (Thanks to @carcarpodium)

Oscar and Carlos, always different lives, always different people. They are not lovers, never were. But they always cross paths somehow and Oscar is the only one how knows they do. He can feel Carlos’ presence when they are about to meet, so Oscar always know when he is back into his life.

People would call them soulmates. Oscar prefers to say they’re two dudes bumping into each other’s lives once per life. Of course, he doesn’t want to call what they don’t have like that.

Because Oscar always feeling when Carlos dies, he’s always at the scene, but never able to save him. Not even driving as fast as a plane can Oscar save Carlos. And he’s there, and he is always the first one to know, and how can he act like nothing if his heart is broken every time he sees Carlos die and someone dear to Oscar crying for him?

This life is no different, Oscar can feel him, all his emotions and thoughts are there for Oscar, but instead of letting him go, he decides to change things.

Oscar learns how to make Carlos feel better (using Lando or Charles at the start, because they’re not friends, but Oscar wants to make Carlos feel better all the time), and then Miami happens, and Oscar can feel Carlos wants to apologize but they’re not friends, so he doesn’t know how. So, Oscar is the one who does the first move.

This idea includes Senior mentoring Oscar so he understands this “power” and how to use it to protect Carlos.

12. Carcar fluffy wedding AU. (This idea came to me thanks to @drsbutmakeitspicy )

Oscar asking the whole Sainz family for their blessing so he can propose Carlos first, because he knows Carlos will do it in a big fancy restaurant and will get down on his knee in the middle of it, capturing everyone’s attention. And he wants something private, only for them.

Then, after Oscar has their blessings, they have a family reunion with both families in the Sainz family’s farm and Carlos is unaware of what is going to happen because Hattie keeps showing him photos of baby Oscar.

Carlos and Oscar are rivals but are also in a situationship after Spa 2023. But the swap doesn’t happen until after Miami and they have 1 week before the next race (Imola).

While they are trying to change back both start exploring their new bodies and lives, trying to find something to use against the other. Because they can be a lot of things, but are rivals hungry for a win first and lovers/FwB/situationship second.

Oscar was a karting driver and got into England following that dream, but has an accident during a kart race and due to the injuries she cannot drive again.

In the middle of her pain she starts to play music, someone records her and she becomes popular really quick. So she decides to follow this new passion.

She invites Logan to one of her concerts and he brings Alex, who brings Lando and George, and Lando brings Carlos. And when they meet it’s like there was so much magnetism in the air. But then they say something that makes the other mad and they fight.

But destiny keeps bringing them together.

17. Sad Mpreg One-Night-Stand Carcar

They had a one night stand and Carlos left before Oscar woke up. And when Oscar tried to talk to him Carlos acted like nothing happened between them, so Oscar goes away.

Then, Oscar feels sick during one of Logan’s visits when there’s no Indy race and they go to the doctor. They discover Oscar is pregnant and Logan has to promise he will not say anything to Carlos until Oscar is ready (if he ever is)

Then, during the Spanish GP (yes, it’s intentionally there) Oscar loses control of his car and has a bad crash. They take him to the hospital but some hours later the Australian is dead.

After the funeral Logan has a meltdown because he hears Carlos saying something to Lando about Oscar. He’s so mad with the Spaniard. His anger is not related to his lost seat or anything related jealousy. It’s related to his friend, his brother, his everything but lover. This is about Oscar’s sadness and heartbreak. About the nephew or niece Logan will never meet.

(This one has a good ending, believe me)

18. Carlos as webbonso’s kid, being jealous of his father’s new favorite kid, Oscar.

Carlos was always closer to Nano, it was part of him and his favoritism for Spain. But, when Mark brought Oscar to the house, Carlos lost it. Why this kid was trying to take his father away from him!?

Meanwhile, Oscar is panicking, because “what do you mean the handsome guy I met years ago in Australia, who (by the way) was my bi awakening, is my boss’ son?!”

Featuring Logan as the worst best friend “So, instead of taking Mark’s offering of becoming his son, you can marry his son and become his son-in-law. Foolproof plan”

so let’s begin with some general omega lando headcanons!!

-> As the only omega between his siblings, he grew up very spoiled. I mean- they all grew up very spoiled by Adam and Cisca, but his parents were simply unable to deny their little boy anything.

So, now he’s simply used to having people do things for him and being bossy about it. He’s no defenseless and useless omega, but it’s nice not to having to worry about his paddock pass, having always someone to open a doors and packages for him, or having special treatment whenever he is.

-> Momma’s boy through and through. Loved spending time in the nest with her, all cuddled and soaking in her scent, surrounded by their family’s clothes and smell. Not having the comfort of the family nest always available to him when he was having a not so good day was the worst part of starting his racing career.

-> Definitely had a puppy crush on Alex when he was younger, and on Carlos and Max when he was a little more older, before and during his first years as a Formula 1 driver.

-> Smells like strawberry shortcake, a little too specific I know, but to me his smell would be the perfect combination of sweet, fresh and with a warm creamy undertone to it that would mix well with chocolate (aka Oscar’s scent). So therefore, strawberry shortcake would be the best description of Lando’s scent.

-> Very possessive and territorial about his belongings and protective and clingy to the people he cares about.

Do not enter in his bedroom/hotel room/driver’s room without permission, that’s where he builds his nest and he’s very territorial over who gets to see it.

Do not let him catch you speaking badly about someone he cares about or scenting someone he sees as his, or you will have to deal with a very snappy and growly omega.

-> Despite being born and raised in the UK, never learned to be used to low temperatures and is always running cold.

-> Loves stealing clothes from his friends to put in his nest, he knows he could easily have it them if he just asked but he likes being a gremlin about it and finds more fun do things this way.

-> Not a conservative or traditional omega by any means, but would love to be courted by someone in the traditional way… despite his lack of shame, he’s a romantic at heart.

now speaking about romance, let me talk about some of my omega lando headcanons with the landoscar spice to it!!!

-> Lando was a little wary about Oscar in the beginning, after all he was someone who was coming to replace Daniel, someone who was very dear to him. He also didn’t know what type of alpha his new teammate would be, if he would be a good addition the team, and sincerely, Lando was too hurt about losing Dani to get attached to a rookie who might not be able to live up to the hype.

-> But Oscar is so sweet and hardworking that Lando can’t resist him for long. Even before half of the season, Lando’s omega had already taken quite a liking for the Australian alpha, especially because he’s sooo funny to tease and loves to indulge Lando’s whims.

-> Once Lando warms up with him, he’s strangely protective and eager to share his personal space with him. He doesn’t mind Oscar entering his less intimate nests like the ones in his driver’s room and likes discreetly scenting him a little, just in case someone in the paddock tries to mess up with him.

-> He’s absolutely delighted in bossing Oscar around, he just can’t help the giddy feeling he gets from having Oscar wrapped around his little finger.

-> Feels like he’s becoming insane after Oscar comes into the 2024 season all big, beefy and more confident in himself, and all Lando can think of is how he wants to climb him up like a tree and never get off his lap ever again.

-> Has a propensity for “forgetting” his hoodies sometimes so he can borrow one from Oscar or go to his driver’s room to snuggle discuss strategy with him.

-> Lando becomes weirdly obsessed with Oscar’s chocolate scent once he catches a whiff of it during one of their cuddle individual strategy sessions. Then, he keeps coming up with the most ridiculous excuses just to get scented by him and Oscar goes wiggling because having Lando walking around smelling like him just feels right.

-> Having pups was always a distant dream of his, but Oscar makes it feel not so distant anymore. Sometimes when Lando is close to his heat, he just wants to get bred with his pups sooo bad.

-> When they officially start a relationship, after the 2025 title fight, Lando’s favorite pastime is teasing Oscar hard enough so he can use his alpha voice on him. He trusts Oscar, and knows he would never take it too far, and he just looks so hot like that, all broody and commanding, putting in he in his place when Lando is behaving like a brat,that he can’t help himself.

A very self-indulgent 3k word blurb. Basically, Oscar is a demigod child of Aphrodite who can only appear to be who each person would desire. Yes, this is set in the PJO-verse.

For as long as he can remember, Oscar Piastri had never looked like himself. His mother, Aphrodite, had thought to 'bless' her son with the ability that made him appear to be who each person would desire. While every Aphrodite kid was very attractive, for some reason, Oscar wasn't allowed to to keep his real face.

The first time Oscar realized the 'blessing' was in middle school. He was sitting with his friends during lunch when the girl he was flirting with commented on his black hair. Oscar had frowned and told her he had brown hair but she just laughed. None of his friends bothered to correct her. They brushed him off with glazed eyes when he would insist.

When Oscar looks at the mirror, he sees his pale skin dotted with moles, brown swoopy hair, and brown eyes. But apparently, when other people see him, he looks different. He doesn't look like Oscar.

Before, he would feel flattered when people confess their feelings for him. After all, who doesn't like compliments? But now, he knows it's not because of who he actually is. He knows he has an okay personality but it's normal to want people to like you for how you look.

His dad and Chiron had called it a blessing. A direct gift from his mother. Oscar just thinks its a curse.

Thankfully, the curse doesn’t work on Oscar's siblings. He was immensely happy when he realized that the other Aphrodite kids just see him normally.

His older brother George rubbed his back when Oscar confessed that he was terrified he would never find love because he would always be guessing if someone sees him for him and not just how they want him to look.

His other brother, Charles, told him that he felt the same way with his charmspeak. Back when he didn't know how to control it, he felt like he was manipulating everyone to like him or do his bidding.

"Maybe you could learn how to turn it off?"

Oscar tried. His first summer at Camp Halfblood, the one after discovering the curse and subsequently opening the doors to monster attacks, he poured over every book in the library and storeroom in hopes for a clue. He prayed to his mother every night. He even mustered up the courage to ask Mr. D who told Oscar to get him alcohol and he'll tell. Alas, Oscar never got answers and his hair smelled of sulfur the whole day.

Oscar shook his head. "I don't think I can."

And so, Oscar just learned to deal with it. He brushes off romantic advances and resigns himself to a life of never being truly loved. It's fine. It's a bit of a rebellion against Aphrodite too; the Goddess of Love's son not finding love because of a 'blessing' she gave him. She never even interacted with him aside from birthing him 18 years ago and when she claimed him when he arrived in Camp Halfblood with a seashell shining above his head.

There was an attempt to make the gods be more present in their children's lives but of course, gods will be gods. At least Oscar gets yearly birthday gifts which is more than what other kids get from their own godly parents.

In Oscar's final summer at Camp Halfblood, before he leaves for New Rome, Logan, a son of Aeolus, approaches him as he was polishing armor with Yuki, a child of Hestia.

"Hey, Chiron's looking for you."

Oscar and Logan make their way to the Big House, chatting as they walk. Logan had been Oscar's first friend outside of his cabin. Oscar arrived a week after Logan did and they've been close ever since. They've even decided to room together when they attend New Rome University in the fall.

Oscar had asked how Logan sees him when they were 14. He'd been harboring a small crush on the blond and wanted to know if Logan truly sees him before making a move. Logan described Oscar as having brown hair- Oscar's heart soars- green eyes and tan skin- and immediately drops.

Oscar forces a smile. Logan drags him to an Apollo kid to try and sketch what he looks like by Oscar describing himself. It doesn't work. Logan holds him as he cries.

"Why's Chiron calling me anyway?" Oscar asks as they near the Big House.

"Who knows? Maybe you've been chosen for a quest," Logan teases as he bumps Oscar's shoulder with his.

Oscar just laughs. For the six years that Oscar has spent in Camp Halfblood, no one had been called for a quest.

In fact, the last quest had been given ten years ago when Lewis Hamilton, a son of Hermes, was prophesized to stop a war between the Greek demigods and their Roman counterparts. After that, it's been peaceful. Well, as peaceful as it could be for a halfblood.

And besides, a child of Aphrodite being chosen for a quest? Especially one who's been cursed by her? Hilarious.

Chiron probably just wants to ask him to teach Pegasus riding again. Oscar's the best at camp.

But then Oscar finds himself in the attic, breathing in the smell of mildew and rotting wood, and staring into the eyes of Fernando Alonso.

Fernando had hosted the Oracle of Delphi for a total of 24 years. For the 10 that no prophecies were made, no demigod currently in camp had ever seen him. Everyone just assumed he retired. Others thought he was dead.

"Did you live here all this time?" Oscar couldn't help but ask.

Fernando rolls his eyes and leans back on his lawn chair. "I am only repeating this once so listen closely."

"Choosing to be mysterious, I see," Oscar mutters to himself before Fernando's eyes glow green as his jaw basically unhinges and green mist pours out with a hiss.

The child of love in a masquerade

With air and missives in his aid

In the search for Leo's armor

Freed by the hands of the smooth operator

"What the fuck does that even mean?"

Fernando, coughing from either the mist or his old age, Oscar can't tell, just shrugs and smirks. Oscar shuts the attic trapdoor, leaving Fernando humming Sade to himself.

"The prophecy is quite easy, Oscar. I was correct in deducing that it was you being talked about," Chiron says as Oscar recounts the prophecy.

"Because who else is a child of love with a permanent mask, basically?" Oscar says wryly.

Chiron ignores him. "The prophecy says that you will be aided by air and missives. Any idea what that could be?"

While Oscar was researching on information about the curse, he read about Orestes who, in order to end his House's curse, went to trial before Athena. Oscar had the idea that if he were sent on a quest, and if he did well, someone would take pity on him and remove his curse.

Despite summers going by without a prophecy to fulfill, Oscar read up on everything that can help him in the unlikely scenario that he was sent on one. The hope dwindled to almost nothing as Oscar grew older but on the bright side, Oscar's really good at critical thinking now.

"A quest is usually taken by three people. The air and missives should be my companions."

Chiron smiles. "Very good. I assume you already have your companions in mind?"

"Pretty much."

Ten days later, Oscar finds himself in Madrid. What is he doing in Madrid? Ask Liam.

The quest started off rockily. Oscar chose Logan, as a son of Aeolus, and their other friend Liam, a son of Hermes, to be his companions. Considering that they're his closest friends in Camp Halfblood, Oscar was pretty sure that they were the air and missive in the prophecy.

Figuring out the latter part of the prophecy was trickier. Chiron refused to give them any hints. Logan then brought up an absurd idea.

"Oscar, you said that Fernando was humming the Sade song when you left, right? What if that was a hint?"

With no more ideas or suggestions, the trio decided to start there. Chiron stopped them from attempting to go to Nigeria, talking ominously about other gods and deities. They decide to start with England, where the singer currently lives.

Liam was the only current Hermes kid who had the power to teleport. However, he can only do short distances and needed recovery periods in between each journey, especially when teleporting with another person, let alone two.

Oscar, Logan, and Liam had to figure out a way to get to England. Since Logan was the son of the god of wind, they figured that they could ride a plane. However, after a series of monster slaying and chases, and Liam being transformed into a sweater by a pissed-off goddess, the arrival of the last prophesized hero, Lewis Hamilton, basically saved their quest.

Liam was starstruck meeting his older brother and practically vibrated with pride when Lewis was impressed with his teleportation ability.

"I flit from New Rome to England when needed. Roscoe and Coco can help you out." Lewis says and whistles. Two giant winged bulldogs zip out of the sky and land next to Lewis.

Oscar has never read about winged bulldogs but with Lewis' success in his quest, the gods agreed to grant him a wish. Roscoe and Coco were probably it.

"Our names will be written in history." Liam says as he holds onto Coco as they fly over the North Atlantic Ocean. "We're the first heroes to ride flying bulldogs for a quest."

England was trickier. Shit weather, accents thicker than Oscar's or Liam's, English food, oh- and two chimeras in Sunderland.

Oscar felt the heat of a chimera crowding him in a corner. His sword was on the ground 3 feet away and he had no way of getting to it without going through the monster. Out of the corner of his eye, Oscar sees Liam and Logan running towards him, the other chimera in hot pursuit.

Oscar reaches out a hand, fingers grazing Liam's, as the chimera bellows fire in the spot Oscar used to be.

The trio stumble out into a park, the climate immediately different from England's. Oscar had no time to figure out where they were before Liam collapses.

Oscar and Logan shove ambrosia down Liam's throat and hope he doesn't choke and lay him out on a nearby bench. Joggers and passersby don't pay them any mind, though they look at Oscar, but they steer clear of these teenagers who look like they were homeless.

Only Logan had his backpack; Oscar's was burned by the chimera and Liam left his in England so they only had the money Logan brought.

Logan left to buy clothes for them to change into and some food and Oscar stayed to look after Liam. They had deduced that they were somewhere in Spain, what with the weather and language around them. Oh, and the Spanish flag waving from a nearby building.

The sun was beating down so Oscar moved Liam under a shady tree, propping his jacket under his head for a bit of cushion and leans back against the bark. It had barely been ten minutes since Oscar closed his eyes when-

"Hello. English?"

Oscar cracks one eye open when he sees the most gorgeous man he had ever seen in his entire life. And he knows a lot of gorgeous people.

The guy only looked a few years older than him, maybe about 21 years old. His hair was majestic and his bone structure borderline regal. He looked like he would be on the cover of a romance novel. The top three buttons on his white linen shirt were also unbuttoned.

This must be a trap. And Liam is still out cold.

Oscar narrows his eyes and feels the shift of the dagger he strapped on his leg. "Australian, actually."

The guy smiles, amused. "I meant the language." He clears his throat and hands Oscar a piece of paper. "Um anyway, I hope you do not find this weird but I saw you from the bench and drew you. I hope you do not mind."

Oscar's eyes widened. The sketch was good, amazing even, but what surprised Oscar was that he was staring at himself. His swoopy hair, his moles, even the soot on his face and the tear on his shirt.

It was Oscar.

Before Oscar could reply, not that he had anything coherent to say, the guy's phone blares Smooth Operator by Sade.

"Ah, I need to meet my family. I have to go. You can keep the drawing."

He was a few steps away when Oscar had the mind to call out. "Wait! What's your name?"

"Carlos." He grins and winks. "But you can call me smooth operator."

"Oscar."

After Carlos leaves, Oscar bites back a grin and looks down at the drawing. The paper had clearly been torn out of a sketchbook. Oscar was in the middle of the page, legs stretched out as he leaned back against the tree. His neck was bared; Carlos even got the moles on his throat.

Oscar wasn't the only subject Carlos drew. On the bottom right of the page was a sketch of a fountain. In its center was a woman on a chariot pulled by two lions.

Lions.

Leo's armor.

And what did Carlos tell Oscar to call him?

When Logan came back, shopping bags in hand, Oscar gripped his shoulders with a wild look in his eyes. He rapidly told Logan about what happened and how it aligned with the prophecy.

They look at Liam, still passed out but looking better than he did.

"Liam, you lucky son of a bitch."

The quest was a success. Leo's armor was actually the Nemean Lion's pelt. Heracles had apparently lost a wager against Cibele and had to give her the pelt. Oscar challenged her to another one to win it back.

Oscar wagered that a mortal will pick him over Cibele no matter how much she changes her appearance.

Logan and Liam both cringe. Everybody knew about the story of the Apple of Discord and Oscar was basically recreating it.

Oscar and Cibele both flirted with the same person at different times. In the end, Oscar was one picked by the mortal to go on a date with.

Cibele was thankfully in a good mood when Oscar won and cackled when Oscar told her about his curse.

"Dear boy, your mother gave you that blessing to make sure that only one who can love and is worthy of you can see you."

Oscar was taken aback. "So this really isn't a curse? My mum doesn't hate me?"

Cibele leans towards him. "I think she's just very protective of you." The goddess shrugs. "I'd wager that you'll be able to control the blessing once you kiss the worthy one."

She eyes the pelt in Logan's arms. Logan holds it closer to his body as Liam frantically says, "Nope. No more wagers."

Heracles was delighted when the trio returns the pelt. He brushes Oscar off when he tells Heracles not to enter any more wagers. He sends them back to Camp Halfblood with a snap of his fingers in thanks.

For the first time in two weeks, Oscar could finally sleep in his own bunk. Logan and Liam were great friends but Logan snores and Liam was particularly bitchy when woken up.

The high of a successful quest lasted all throughout summer. But as one quest ends, another begins.

Oscar finished folding the moving boxes in his new apartment. It was barely furnished, and there was only a mattress on the floor in his bedroom but once Logan gets there tomorrow, Oscar wouldn't feel as bad because Logan most likely doesn't have a bed too.

He decides to head out and explore New Rome before the sun fully sets and get a bite to eat. The apartment he and Logan chose was right next to a park. As he walks through the path, the peace and quiet allows him to think back on that summer.

Oscar survived to adulthood as a demigod. Once he graduates from New Rome University, his scent is barely noticeable enough for monsters to continue coming after him. He can live normally out in the world like Lewis. And, Cibele told him that he can control his curse/blessing when he kisses the worthy one.

Oscar feels his face heat up. With all the excitement of finishing the quest, enjoying the last weeks of summer as a camper, moving to a new city and starting university, Carlos had carved a small space in Oscar's mind.

Oscar smiles. When Oscar's older and safe enough, maybe he could book a trip to Madrid.

Oscar had walked a loop around the park when he realizes that he left his wallet back in the apartment. When he unlocks the door, Oscar almost thinks that he went to the wrong place.

The apartment was fully furnished, all the junk and trash Oscar accumulated while unpacking was gone. The apartment looked like something out of a magazine catalogue. On the walls were framed pictures of Oscar and Logan, their families and friends and framed posters of the racecars they bonded over.

Oscar opens the fridge in the kitchen and found it stock full of all of his and Logan's favorite food and drinks. Before he opens his bedroom, he peeks into Logan's. It was bare but there was a bedframe.

Finally, Oscar opens his bedroom door and almost chokes.

When Oscar was seven, his babysitter brought him to play in the park. He was thirsty so she went to buy a drink from a nearby food truck and left him on a picnic table to draw while he waits.

Oscar remembers the scent of roses and the loveliest woman he had ever seen smiling down at him. He had been taught about stranger danger but this woman wasn't a stranger. He didn't know who she was but she was safe.

She sat with him and stroked his hair as he showed her his drawings.

"Why are the animals angry, cupcake?"

"They didn't want to be drawn, mum."

She giggles when Oscar shows her his 'masterpiece'- a page completely covered in black paint.

"And this is my room! Or what I want it to be." Oscar flips the page to a floorplan of his dream bedroom. He points out the massive tub in the en-suite bathroom.

"It needs to be shaped like a seashell because you were one, mum!"

She puts a hand to her heart dramatically. "I was a seashell?"

Oscar nods and points out the other features in his room. "There's a giant window on one wall and my bed is a racecar. And my lamp is a kangaroo because I'm Australian."

When Oscar's babysitter gets back, the woman is gone. But Oscar knew she was real. He could still smell roses.

His room was exactly how Oscar wanted it to be when he was a kid but more grown up. The giant window, the shell-shaped pool he could see from the open door of his en-suite (An en-suite! There wasn't an en-suite in his room when Oscar left!)

His bed wasn't a racecar but carved in the mahogany were racecars, pegasi, doves, and seashells. Oscar laughs when he sees the kangaroo lamp on the nightstand.

Next to the lamp was Carlos' sketch and beside it were two coupons for a bakery a few blocks away and a small pink note.

"Thanks mum." Oscar smiles and pickets the coupons.

The bakery his mother got him coupons to was a small quaint one with French architecture. It was right across a small courtyard with a fountain in the middle. Children ran around playing, a faun sang for spare change, and lares floated and roamed about, the glare of their ghostly bodies hitting Oscar's eyes when caught by the rays of the setting sun.

When Oscar finally rubbed the sunspots out of his eyes, he sees a guy with a sketchbook in his hand gaping at him.

The guy only looked a few years older than him, maybe about 21 years old. His hair was majestic and his bone structure borderline regal. He looked like he would be on the cover of a romance novel. The top three buttons on his linen shirt were also unbuttoned. But this time, he was in blue.

"Oscar?"

"Carlos," Oscar breathed out. "What are you doing here?"

"I live here."

"You're a demigod?"

Carlos shakes his head. "Let me introduce myself properly this time. My name is Carlos Sainz. I am a legacy of Neptune." He rolls up his sleeve to show a tattoo of a trident and ten stripes on his arm.

The tattoo just makes Carlos even hotter. Oscar tamps down the voice in his brain begging him to jump the guy.

"I'm Oscar Piastri. Son of Aphrodite. Or Venus, I guess."

Carlos smiles. "Ah, so that is why you are very pretty."

Oscar rolls his eyes, ignoring the heat on his cheeks. "Very smooth, smooth operator."

Carlos just laughs. "It is true!"

Oscar stares at Carlos. To ask or not to ask? "Hey, when you drew me back in the summer, is that how you actually see me?"

Carlos' eyebrows furrow. "Of course. I am not very good at drawing things I cannot see."

Something starts growing in Oscar's chest. "Carlos, can you tell me what I look like?"

Carlos pulls off the confused puppy look very well but complies. "You have brown hair, very swoopy like swoosh. And you are very pale and you have moles here, here, here-" he points at every mole Oscar has. "Your eyes are brown but they are like honey with the sunset. And you have bunny teeth. Very cute."

Oscar feels himself tear up with relief? Overwhelm? Maybe. Oscar just knows that he is so, so happy right now.

"Are you okay?" Carlos asks in alarm.

Oscar sniffles and grins at Carlos. "Yeah. Yeah. Hey, how do you feel about cupcakes?"

Carlos cannot help himself, his eyes are focused on the man who is carefully taking care of his injury on the neck. It was not a joke what the pretty boy mentioned about nearly chopping his head off. If he was not a race driver he might not have the reflexes to prevent that.

It didn’t matter, when Oscar saw the cut he took him by the arm, sat him and started treating his wound, while talking with Lando, who looked like a kicked puppy. A minute later, his uglier version appeared and was mad with him and Oscar, so the older McLaren driver took him and walked as far away as possible.

The Spaniard didn’t really mind, he was able to spend more time with his angel without being lectured by the ugly older man. He noticed how his god felt uncomfortable around his older version. So, if all these things kept that Carlos away, it was better for both of them. Oscar had peace, and Carlos had him.

The older boy (was he really older or was Carlos older because he was from the past?) inclined himself into the table that was behind him to accommodate the medicines he had just used on Carlos. The Spaniard kept his position on the sofa, acting like everything was fine, but his hands pressed the fabric with more force than necessary.

Look, Carlos was young, but he was a man, and he knew people have… assets that were more attractive to some people. And Carlos was a sucker for a good ass, he enjoyed the feeling of carrying his partner while he massaged that area of their body.

So, he couldn’t do anything but notice how Oscar’s ass was filled perfectly for him to touch, to massage, even to bite. Not even his past partners ignited his lust like Oscar and his ass did. Carlos wanted to keep quiet, so his angel could defend him, but he noticed how his older version smiled slightly at the attention he was getting. This bitch! That was always the plan!!

-Cariño, Can you help me? It hurts so much!

-Let me go for a package of ice. And stop calling me Cariño.

-Okay, Tesoro.

-God dammit. Why do I even try?

Once Oscar was away from them, Carlos turned toward his uglier version, who looked as pissed as him.

-Stop trying to take his attention from me.

-Stop staring at his ass.

-It’s a great ass, if you don’t want to enjoy it I will. And I will taste it for you too, so come back to me when you want me to tell you how does he taste trembling in my bed.

Carlos just heard Lando laugh and he smiled feeling victorious. He knew why he was here, and he was going to get it no matter what.

Didn’t Fernando and Mark say he was here to make a life-changing decision on this time Carlos’ life? Well, for him it was settled. He was going to marry Oscar, if he needed to drug his older version for that, so be it.

Oscar is embarrassed that he didn't realise. But he’s mortified that he’s FaceTiming Hattie when she unknowingly calls him out and causes an epiphany.

“Okay, who are you and what have you done with my brother?” She interrupts him, halfway through a story about McLaren’s social media team, and a ridiculous video for the feed.

Oscar scrunches up his face in confusion. “Huh?”

“Oscar, are you being held hostage?” She mock whispers, “Blink twice if you need me to call for help.”

“What the fuck are you on about?” Oscar wonders if Hattie is having a stroke and maybe he should be the one calling for help.

“You’re tidying up.” Hattie says bluntly, and Oscar looks down at his hands, currently folding the pile of clean clothes that had taken up permanent residence on his couch.

“Yes?” He doesn’t know why she’s acting so weird.

“Mate, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you clean up voluntarily before? I reckon maybe once or twice?” She leans forward closer to her camera, her face filling up his entire screen. “Are you sure you’re feeling okay?”

“Yeah, Lando is just coming over to play some games.” Oscar feels like this was the wrong thing to say when Hattie narrows her eyes at him.

“Since when do you care if Lando is subjected to the pigsty you live in?”

“I don’t, but-“ Oscar cuts himself off as he realises what he’s about to say. Carlos is coming too.

He cares what Carlos thinks.

“Sorry, gotta go!” Oscar ends the call, frozen in place with only his heart racing, as he’s confronted with the horrible realisation.

Carlos had signed a contract with Toro Rosso, his dream of becoming a Formula One driver were finally his. He had drove a couple of races already and was so excited to be a driver for the team that nothing his father said to him about rivalries and beating teammates could bother him.

So, when he opened his eyes and was in front of a bunch of people dressed in blue and white he was so confused, but nothing prepared him to see what apparently was an older version of himself dressed on a white T-shirt, with no team logo, standing in front of him, with confused and worried eyes.

-I need to take him somewhere safe. With no history that can change his life.

-Carlos.

-He doesn’t need to know anything that could affect him. So he cannot stay here.

Carlos was mad with this fake older version of himself, specially when he was pulled up from the floor and they started to walk around the paddock like Carlos was some kind of secret whore, even if the team behind him looked at him with worry. However, he couldn’t keep his thoughts there as his eyes focused on the man with the number one attach to his photo on some big screen.

Max, his teammate.

Did he become a world champion? It looked like he was in Red Bull and won. He probably fought for the title once Lewis lost it, maybe to Rosberg or to Sebastian again. It was incredible that he managed to win one championship in that car.

Maybe Carlos was also in the Bull and was able to fight for that title? Was he also in the blue team? It looked like it, even if Carlos was not the happiest with the idea. He didn’t want to be a second driver to Max, not to the young boy who was a second away from punching someone, even if he was really sweet deep down.

He wanted to prove himself, and if he was a second driver that would never happen.

The young driver hit himself with the back of his uglier older version and cursed while touching it carefully. He was so mad that he had to deal with him without knowing anything, but he couldn’t curse as comfortably as he wanted. Not with the older cursing under his breath.

-Tom! I need to talk to Lando, or Zak, or Andrea.

-They are not here, but Oscar is around.

-Tom, please, it’s urgent… I need to keep this thing hidden. Oscar is not an option for that.

Did this uglier version called him a “this thing”? With what right?!

Carlos heard a soft voice that took him by surprise, and looking at the tense back of his uglier version, the other was not happy with the development. So, of course, acting like the little shit he was, Carlos decided to look to the direction where the voice had come from.

An Angel

Carlos gasped when he saw the man of brown eyes and constellations around his neck. The boy looked young, close to Carlos age, with a dark blond hair that seemed soft, like a Disney Prince hair. And his posture was relaxed but contemplating, like he could read anyone in a couple of seconds.

Carlos was in love.

And he fell even further when those eyes were on him, analyzing him without showing anything on his face, but saying so much with his eyes, and the Spaniard loved that he could see that. Maybe they were meant to meet here and now.

-Come to my room, Carlos. We need some privacy.

-Usually that comes after a coffee. But for you, I don’t mind skipping some steps.

His uglier version and his angel looked at him like he was nuts, the other him was a second away from killing him, and his new god looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there, but there was a soft pink on his neck that made Carlos know that his approach was not incorrect.

-You cannot shut up, Can you?

-It’s not my fault Oscar, not like I wanted him here.

-We really need to keep him away from public eye, and maybe Mark knows how to send him back.

The uglier version hit him on the head while cursing him in Spanish, but he didn’t care, he wanted to see if his angel reacted in any way that would give him a chance. Seeing his ears pinker than before gave him hope.

His angel was going to be his sooner or later, a ring was going to be on his angel’s finger before Carlos woke up from this dream.

Even if he didn’t want to wake up as long as his future husband was there.

God. Oscar didn’t want to talk about his father-in-law, but the thought just came out of him in that second. He had a good relationship with Carlos’ father, but he knew his lover valued his father’s input as much as his own. And probably, a small part of him, felt uncomfortable dealing with this. Maybe it felt like he was dealing with a child’s tantrum.

Like he could read Oscar’s mind, Carlos pulled the McLaren driver's hair to take him away from his hiding spot so they could see each other. His brown eyes were full of love and understanding, making the younger boy feel naked and vulnerable. Which, wasn’t uncommon between them.

-Yes, papá said that but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t value feelings. This was an important event from you, amor. Of course, you can be sad, even mad. I am, and it’s not my home race.

-It is… kind of.

The McLaren driver wanted to crawl into the ground, hide in the center of the planet, and never come out again after saying that, but the Williams driver looked shocked and moved due to his words, so he tried to be as brave as possible.
