Spaceship sketches.
Done with pencils in my sketchbook. Digitally colour using Krita.
WIP Deinonychus. Trying to decide the length of the primary and secondary feathers; I want enough space to depict the iconic sickle claw.
Any kind of criticism is more than welcome.
Progress update, including the ROM pamphlet that I based the pose on.
A bunch of drawings of different theropod dinosaurs, mostly their skulls. I do these so I can have references physically on hand, and not have to look at pictures on a screen all the time. Hence drawing the skulls of Spinosaurus so I can exactly understand the difference between the two species.
For Erlikosaurus and Segnosaurs, I wanted to get an idea of what the head of latter might've looked in life. The only part its skull that paleontologists have found is the lower jaw.
With Giganotosaurs, in addition to understanding what parts of the skull is actually known, I included a few notes about possible soft tissue anatomy.
Depiction of Brachiosaurus altihorax done in my sketchbook.
The shape and distribution of the scales was based on diagrams created by Tess Gallagher. Her research also informed the colour of the dinosaur as well.
Below are a few WIP pictures.
Drawn with pencils on paper, digitally coloured in Krita.
The drawing of Anne Parillaud was based on a shot of her from the 1983 film Le Battant. The drawing of Myriem Roussel was based on a still of her from the 1985 Goddard film Hail Mary. I also experimented with a different way of digital colouring on Krita.
Digitally coloured on Krita.
Three very old pieces, each given a fresh coat of digital paint.
Digitally coloured some previous posted artwork.
Anicee Alvina based on her appearance in the 1975 French film 'Playing with Fire', directed by Alain Robbe-Grillet.
Character facial and hand expression studies.
Portrait studies from photos found online, and other doodles.
Inked and unfinished coloured versions of the 1st page of a dinosaur comic I’m creating. Any input or outright criticism is welcome.
Carnage fan art. Drawn with pencil crayon on paper, then scanned and 'refiend' with a few digital colours.
Simplified drawings of very specific semi trucks (top is a Peterbilt 379, bottom is a Western Star 5700 XE) and a 2014 Pagani Huayra.
I drew these on separate pages in my sketchbook. I ran out of room on the page when drawing the side view of the Huayra.
Caricature of Andrea Rau from the 1971 film "Daughters of Darkness". Inked in my sketchbook, coloured digitally with Krita.
"Freckled Woman- Gustav Klimt homage"
A rather spontaneous and very experimental piece. Done with graphite pencil and colour pencils in a standard size sketchbook. Then digitally coloured in Krita.
My submission for the @poketcg-art Johto redraw challange. This was based on a Mantine card originally illustrated by Yukiko Baba.
Inked on paper, digitally coloured using Krita, and then slightly adjusted in Mac Photos. Drawing an underwater environment with coral was quite outside my wheelhouse, but I'm quite satisfied with the final result.
