A smell woke him, black tea... The dark haired man grunted as he sat up, rubbing his tired eyes, he caught movement towards the door and saw Jean about to leave, should I say something…?

The older man frowned as he stared at his hands, I missed that kind of contact... He slicked his hair back, “Thank you, Jean…” Levi gracefully took a hold of the cup and blew the steamy tea before taking a sip, “The tea is pretty good compared to yesterday.”

He stared at the cup and noticed a tear fell in the tea, why…? why am I crying? It was just a one time thing… I’m used to be alone…

"Eh?"  He walked towards the older man, curious and concerned. "Why are you crying?" He wasn’t sure what to do, so he stood there and then knelt down, looking at Levi’s face.

Levi was in thought and hadn’t noticed Jean being beside the bed until he heard him talk and his eyes widen, “uh?” He turned his head and saw Jean, kneeling next to him, “O-oh…!” He took the back of his hand wiped the tears away, “N-No… It is nothing… Jea-” He paused and lowered his head as he looked away from the brown haired man, “cadet Kirschtein…” He softly exhaled as he spoke with a wavering voice, “You are dismissed…”

Jean debated whether to actually walk away or not, but asking again was worth it.

"Are you sure, sir? I - uh - I can stay," he paused, considering his words, "only if you want me to."
