Okay - I know nothing about the next season. Dropping some totally uninformed thoughts here. - The basketball player guy, ughghghg. I hated this guy so much, so freaking obnoxious, and with none of the fun. Why? Outside of being large, what does he have to offer? Especially when the games seem to increasingly move away from athletic ability having any bearing on the outcome of the game as the seasons went on - The poker player... is that Steven Yea? He seemed technically competent, but he also had such poor social play. Though he made it to the semis which isn't really dying early. Actually, maybe there was another poker player that I'm forgetting about, but a cursory DDG search didn't turn up anything - Mr. Dirty Politics... Hm. not sure about this one either - Jinhyeong (the winner no one cared about?): Eh, I'm mixed on this one. I really could not stand him, but he did seem the most technically skilled. I suppose there is hope that he took his early humblings to heart and improved. I guess there's a reality where that happens and he matured, leveled up in the interim and could at least cause some trouble Yeah... that's... a rough lineup to put it mildly. I hope the game developers have something in mind for this not to be a complete steamroll

the season 2 team is seungjin (basketball guy), sungjoo (the poker player who i legitimately did like but was eliminated early on), yunb (dirty politics), and jinhyeong! i don't really hate jinhyeong specifically but he was definitely an anticlimactic winner and a great example of the winner of the season not necessarily being the defining player(s) of it. a lot of people were hoping for dex to be a part of this team, maybe replacing yunb, but i don't think that saves this team from a wreck compared to the others :/

but at least they'll have team rookies giving them company as a fellow coughing baby? but i mean who knows, it's bloody game. kyunghoon may be team challengers' biggest strength but he's also their greatest weakness. slide him $50 and he might blow up his own guys for fun lol

#yunb is mr dirty politics to me because he was doing wayy too much against xitsuh and pi for me LOL #and his 'survival show addiction' doesnt help he was crazy in queen bee game too #i dont hate it for him bc that's showbiz baby! but he's kind of crazy #bloody game

the "empathy fatigue" stuff is also very revealing because when you examine health professionals' self-reporting on the matter there is a specific type of person they describe losing empathy for- unsurprisingly, it's people with particularly chronic health issues and disability, drug users, people who "refuse to take care of themselves" and especially anyone with a health condition perceived to be "their own fault". very often what they describe as "empathy fatigue" is actually just the mask slipping on the seething contempt they already held

don't really have the words for how hurtful this was tbh. i have never considered myself a nice or kind person but shit like this makes me think i have been way too tolerant in my life maybe i need to be crashing out at least half as often as the ppl around me do
