THE CUTEST
why are you people like this
Stuff like that is just not okay…seriously… i mean that is a serious and emotional video and…just no.
So. God. Damn. Much. Facepalm.
Let me explain you whiny little shits a thing Yaoi means “boys love”. It IS NOT INHERENTLY SEXUAL. IT’S JUST A GODDAMN TERM FOR GAY. Stop your fucking whining and let people fanperson over shit the way they want to without your whiny bitch opinion bringing negativity into it. Jfc.
Hey there! I’m usually one to pick my battles, but this error here is so egregious I felt a need to speak up about it. You don’t have to read this if you don’t want to, but, in fact, yaoi does not mean Boy’s Love. It is inherently sexual and it is not a “goddamn term for gay,” as we will see subsequently.
“The term yaoi is an acronym created in the late 1970s[1] by Yasuko Sakata and Akiko Hatsu[8] from the words Yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi (山[場]なし、落ちなし、意味なし) “No peak (climax), no fall (punch line/denouement), no meaning”. This phrase was first used as a “euphemism for the content”[9] and refers to how yaoi, as opposed to the “difficult to understand” shōnen-ai being produced by the Year 24 Group female manga authors,[10] focused on “the yummy parts”.“
Tl;dr: Yaoi is a Japanese word about equivalent to our phrase “porn without plot.” Of course, porn is necessarily inherently sexual–a genre that serves only to objectify the characters portrayed in it for the gratification of the consumer. It is not a term for gay. To my knowledge, in Japanese, that would be “gei,” which… literally is just the English word “gay” written in katakana. Additionally, according to Wikipedia, gay comics produced by mlm are literally called “gay comics (gei comi)” or bara. So your post is wrong on two points here.
BL and yaoi are also not synonymous terms. BL, or Boy’s Love, is an umbrella term encompassing genres such as yaoi and shounen-ai (another similar genre that is essentially softcore yaoi, focusing more on fluff than sexual activity but always in a more-or-less objectifying manner.) It does not include gay comics. Why? Because while the target audience of gay comics are actual real-live gay people (shocker), the target audience of BL is cishet girls and women.
Originally branded disparagingly as “fujoshi” (rotten girls) for “corrupting” pure friendships between male characters, this subset of people now wear the label as a badge of pride, in the same way that cishet girls in Western fanfiction circles often refer to themselves as “dirty sinners” for drawing two men kissing or holding hands. Why the motif of corruption? Because this consumer base sees same-sex interaction beyond the purely platonic as inherently dirty, sinful, shameful, and kinky. (This can be seen not only in the community’s moniker but in the genre’s conventions as well, as it relies heavily on tropes of rape, abuse, manipulation, etc, and essentially zero genuine depictions of earnest love.) This is denotatively and inarguably homophobia.
Thus, this is why you cannot call “In a Heartbeat” yaoi:
Its producers are all Western. It doesn’t even use an anime art style.
It is not sexual, or PWP. Its characters are not only children, but characters developed as people with which the viewer may empathize, and absolutely not objects for the viewer’s gratification.
It was a short produced by and for LGBT people.
Now I may be a little out of my lane because I am not Japanese–I just consume a lot of anime and manga and read a lot. But I believe the information I have presented to be factually correct and I hope it is clear now why one cannot refer to this short or any other LGBT productions as yaoi, not only for reasons of social justice, but sheer linguistics as well.
Stop fetishizing LGBT y'all
As long as it’s not hurting actual gay men you can like yaoi. Women (some guys) just want to explore their sexuality in different ways and more “safer” ways. And if men can watch lesbian sex so can women watch gay sex. But yaoi isn’t gay. It’s just Japanese porn about men with no women in it. Just porn for younger people so to say. I’ve read some yaoi mangas that are actually good and better than most of the “representation” in animes (*cough* Doukyuusei *cough*). But most of the time the BL games (even the +18 ones) and movies in Japan are actually better. Yaoi helped me in finding my sexuality and gender so I am gonna give it some points for helping me get into the LGBT+ community and learn. But I know the difference.
reasons to keep eating
🌸 your body needs nutrients to help it cleanse yourself of nasty toxins and function regularly
🌸 eating will allow you to grow healthily and live long
🌸 it’ll help reduce your risk for chronic diseases and other health issues
🌸 if you don’t eat carbohydrates, protein from your muscles will be used to fuel your body instead (reminder: the heart is a muscle! Please don’t destroy your precious little heart, you need that to live!)
🌸 also, if you don’t eat enough carbohydrates your blood sugar drops and long term deficiency can result in hypoglycemia
🌸 fainting, problems sleeping, loss of energy, irritability and digestive issues are also more likely to occur when you starve yourself
🌸 there are other alternatives to losing weight like running or yoga or just figuring out a healthier diet (a good start can be cutting out soda, it’s pretty bad for you)
🌸 you NEED calories to SURVIVE
🌸 you are already so beautiful, even if you can’t see it now, and you deserve to eat
🌸 think of all the yummy foods you’re missing out on!!! the tastes!!! The smells!!! Don’t deny yourself the luxury of a good tasting meal
Do’s and Don’ts of shipping REAL people
Shipping is okay with real people when it’s done respectfully. Here are MY do’s and don’ts of shipping real people:
DO: make fanfics and fanart. It’s a great way to improve your writing and drawing skills and it’s a fun way to express yourself.
DON’T: send the people involved in the ship said fanfics and art unless it’s ASKED for. It can make them uncomfortable, and put a strain on their friendship, which no one wants. (Especially you!)
PRO TIP: If you have fan art that is all friendship and not romantic/sexual, send it to them! Everyone loves a drawing of themselves!
Examples: Minicat, H2ovanoss, and Phan.
DO: Spread positivity! Compliment each others fanfics and artwork. Support each other’s headcannons and opinions!
DON’T: Hate on someone’s fanfic or fan art if it display’s something you’re uncomfortable with, such as smut and/or triggering content. Although, said fanfics should be tagged accordingly and given the proper warnings.
PRO TIP: If you see fan art promoting any vile and inappropriate issues, REPORT IT. For example, a fanfic that someone wrote for a fandom I was in, was promoting Pedophilia and that IS NOT OK. Please take proper measures to get the fanfic promoting serious issues such as pro-rape, pedophilia, romantization of self-mutilation, and etc. removed.
Examples of this are in banana bus squad EVERY FANDOM.
DO: Send sweet tweets and comments that contain something along the lines of; “You two are so cute!” “I love your friendship!” and other sweet comments like that.
DON’T: Send tweets and comments that say something like, “They’re definitely fucking” “Are you two dating?” “Are you guys gay?” “I bet they secretly like each other! Look at all this evidence!” “You and your girlfriend/boyfriend need to break up so you can date [insert name here]!” and other comments along the line of those. It’s rude and disrespectful and makes them feel uncomfortable.
PRO TIP: If someone in your ship starts dating someone else, DO NOT ATTACK THEM. It’s rude, awful, and down right just nasty. It’s an extremely childish thing to do. Respect their partners like you would your favorite person.
Some examples of ships that have grown apart in real life because of excessive shipping and hate being sent their romatic partners are: Troyler, Septiplier, and H2ovanoss.
DO: Make friends within the fandom and have healthy discussions about other ships, headcannons, and posts.
DON’T: Attack someone if your OTP is their NOTP. Do not put hate on headcannon’s and fanfic about how “They would never do that in real life”. Fanfiction and headcannons are suppose to be fun. The way people write their fics are their own choice and maybe be inspired by things they have dealt with in the past. I know that when I write fanfics they can get a bit ooc because I focus on the story line, rather than the people I’m writing it about.
Some examples of shippers that have hated on others for the reasons above are: Destiel, Phan, and Jaspar.
Above all, keep the shipping, the fanfics, and the romantic/sexual fan art in the fandom. If they wanted to see it, they would ask for it, or find it themselves.
Also have fun and ship responsibly/respectfully!
Okay so I didn’t want to resort to this, but I don’t know how much longer I’ll survive in my current situation. I’m really desperate from some money and I barely even have enough to pay bills. Sometimes I go days without eating, and only manage with what I can…I know my art and my writing isn’t the best, but anything you guys could help me with I’d be extremely extremely grateful and thankful…Please please please help me out if you can. I guess you ccan say they’ll be art and writing commissions??? I don’t know how this stuff works at all, but I’ll figure it out.
I’ll be taking bts writing requests with any ship and you can be as specific as you want and the same goes for drawings!
Help me spread this out guys! And thank you for taking the time to read this

im sick of the fake deep namjoon jokes. the jokes about how he’s oversharing.
do y'all have any idea how hard it is to come to terms with your depression and work through it on your own? how amazing it is that he opens up to us, and not selfishly, but so to inspire fans who might feel the same as he has?
namjoon suffers from depression. namjoon wanted to die. he’s told us. and on his own he worked through it. he got himself through those times. if you suffer from depression you should fucking understand how hard this is, esp in a country that really disregards mental illness. and how brave it is that he’d speak up about it so fans won’t feel like they’re alone.
fake deep? fake deep is yalls dumbass tumblr posts with the weird ass poetry that ends with the initials of some irrelevant poet to make it seem like it’s something important. fake deep is the kid in ur class that questions everything in the dumbest way in an attempt to sound smart. that’s not namjoon.
namjoon talks to us about how to find happiness and beauty in our lives bc he once lost it to the point of wanting to die. he tells us about believing in a future bc he nearly abandoned his own. he talks to us about dreams bc his were nearly not enough to hold him to this earth. he talks about feeling alone bc he, in his depression, felt isolated despite being surrounded by six close friends. namjoon opens up to us because this is his experience that he had to suffer to get, and furthermore, this is the experience that inspires him to do what he can to help ppl who feel the same.
namjoon knew damn well he’d be criticized for opening up. he knew that telling the world about his insecurities and depression and suicidal thoughts would result in mockery. but from his very own fandom? namjoon, the foundation of everything army loves? to think this fandom, without a damn care in the world, would be the biggest perpetrator of the mockery?
idc if it’s jokes. y'all wouldn’t dare mock yoongi for his depression, so I don’t understand why you think it’s okay to do the same to namjoon.
I really love Lian’s design. < 3
🚨 The internet needs you 🚨
You’re up again, Tumblr.
Back in 2015 you demanded that the FCC adopt strict net neutrality rules and establish a free and open internet. And you won.
That should’ve been the end of it. But apparently not.
The new head of the FCC wants to undo the net neutrality protections you fought so hard for.
His proposed changes open the door to your web traffic being slowed down, or even blocked altogether. You could be forced to pay extra to use your favorite apps. You could even be prevented from getting news from the sources you trust.
Title II protects consumers and democracy by ensuring all voices can be heard.
You know the drill. Here’s what to do:
The FCC is taking comments from the public, and dearfcc.org is making it as simple as possible for you to make your voice heard.
Go there now 👉 dearfcc.org ✌️
You’ll just need to provide a name, an address, and then say a little bit about why rolling back Title II protections is a bad idea. If you’re not quite sure what to write, here’s something to get you started:
I’m writing to urge you to keep our Open Internet rules based on Title II in place. Without them, we could lose the internet as we know it.
The proposed changes to FCC rules would allow fast lanes for sites that pay, and force everyone else into slow lanes. We’ve already seen access to streaming services like Netflix, popular games like League of Legends, and communication platforms like FaceTime slowed down, or even blocked. Conditions like this hurt businesses large and small, and penalize the users who patronize them.
The changes also open the door to unfair taxes on internet users, and could also make it harder for blogs, nonprofits, artists, and others who can’t pay up to have their voices heard.
Please leave the existing net neutrality rules based on Title II in place.
Thank you!
If you need more ammo, feel free to quote these experts from our net neutrality Issue Time. TechCrunch and Battle for the Net also have some good starters.
Everyone is counting on everyone else here. Do your part and tell the FCC to keep a free and open internet under Title II.
