Simple but effective skincare routine, small social circle, 10 hours of sleep, timeless wardrobe, low screen time, reading, creating more than consuming, journaling, herbal teas, balanced diet, writing, signature scent, music, long walks, art, enjoying life and making the most of it.
Katharine Hepburn pruning a tree in Connecticut around 1980 (aged 73), being transported on a motorcycle by Nick Nolte in the movie 'Grace Quigley' in 1984 (aged 77), shoveling snow from the roof of her NYC townhouse, 1988 (aged 80),

the internet is a place for reading wikipedia articles and watching every movie for free. social media is an invasive species. never forget this
Body horror? No, Iâm sorry, I said bawdy horror. Horror with innuendo, sexual mischief, merry scantily clad wenches, that sort of thing
We never really talked about it but The Ugly Ducking that grew up to be a beautiful swan was still probably pretty fugly from a duckâs perspective
Like that story isnât about an ugly duckling that grew up sexy, itâs a fucking swan was judged as a duck and hated itself as a duck until it found out it wasnât a duck and stopped trying to be a duck.
The actual ducks in the neighborhood were probably still looking around at perfectly normal swans like âdamn, look at those busted ass ducksâ
This is pretty important, actually. The good ending is finding the other swans, not tearing yourself to pieces trying to impress the ducks.
R.I.P. Loretta Swit (Margaret Houlihan).
the concept and idea of âyou can always start trying to be a better personâ is extremely important to me both in media and irl and i continue to be deeply deeply disturbed by the trend on this site pushing that these ideas in media are bad writing or even morally reprehensible
because theyd rather someone stay terrible or just straight up die than become a better personÂ
from a compassionate point of view itâs deeply distressing and from a pragmatic point of view itâs outright frustrating
itâs fucked up.Â
What is the most important step a man can take?
The next.
I think part of the pushback about this is the idea that, to âredeemâ bad people, their victims must first forgive them for unforgivable acts.
This is false. No one is obligated to forgive you. You can learn from your mistakes and become the best, kindest person on earth, and the people youâve hurt still wonât forgive you, and youâll have to accept that. And that doesnât mean you arenât allowed to grow. Because we arenât just âpureâ or âsinfulâ, weâre complex.

âwhy are you not just spending your days doing good things for the world?â - jesse eisenberg
âGrief is a beast made of teeth and claws and misery. I never needed anything else in my closet or under my bed: grief was more than terrifying enough.â

Listen, yes you need to fight tooth and nail. You need to show up, you need to steel yourself to resist and be there for each other.
But I cannot understate this, you need more then Bread you need Rose's too.
You need beauty and art and rest.
You need friends and loved ones and good food.
You need flowers and sunrises and sweet treats and fun mugs and dancing.
You need to enjoy yourself somewhere in there.
