Consumers' Mannerism
People need to learn and be trained on how to be a good consumer or customer. Let me tell you something, customers are NOT always right. And whoever put this statement in consumers’ head is truly a dumbass.
Those impolite, ignorant, and cheap people need to realize that they are the worst part of customer service. You people make me hate my job and hate people as a whole. I don’t need your rude comments, your eyes-rolling, you telling me how to do my job, or your suggestions on how to run the company I work for. I have to deal with you plus hundreds of others who feel like being a brat today.
Foremost, I don’t own or run the company. I work for it. So I do not have a say on how they policy goes or about their products… I don’t really have much of a say on anything of that nature. So guess what… I can’t change the prices or company policy. If it really matter to you, write to the company. Because bitching at me... isn't going to change anything. Matter of fact, you are just wasting our times now. If you really don’t like something… then don’t ever come back. It’s truly that simple. I believe you should spend your money where you feel great at.
Just because you hate your life, you don’t need to take it out on me. I do my best to provide you with what you need and some more. You are paying for a service or a product. Not for me to bow down to you and kiss your toes.
Because I am working in customer service, I am vulnerable to the rude attitude, hate, and any form of bitchness that comes out of people. And guess what? I have to deal with it. You can stand there on the other side of counter and call me whatever names you want. And I simply just have to deal with it. That is a form of bullying. I'm sure your mother has taught you better than that.
What does that negative attitude do to me? It fills me with anger and the sudden need to grab you by the throat until you turn blue. But no, I don't do that. Instead, I stand there degraded as a human-being and bullied by someone who I cannot talk back to. I’m not sure what is worse, being disrespected by another adult or not being able to stand up for myself. Somehow, consumers believe they have the right to do this to people and treat others like garbage.
What happened to people with manners? I understand, people mess up or you’re in a rush. I’m sure people who are working customer service feels bad and does not want you to be upset with them. We all want to feel like we are capable of doing our jobs. There is no reason for you to get feisty, raise your voice, or call me names. Just know, if I was not on the clock… the conversation would have gone much differently.
Working in customer service has taught me a lot about respecting others. If I am friendly and respectful, I am requesting for you to provide me with the same mutual respect.
