“rufus and lily came from different worlds, they weren’t meant to be together” no!!! they were able to bridge the gap between their worlds the same way their kids did years later, which was why their reunion made so much sense— they found their way back to each other despite their two worlds trying to pull them apart! rufus was more than happy to become a part of lily’s world for two seasons until the writers decided to suddenly and haphazardly make it an issue at the last minute just to save a couple that lost all of their charm in the show’s second season. rufus and lily were the most well-written, well-planned-out love story from the very first episode. he remembered her coffee order! he could only write songs when he was writing about her! she took her best photos of him performing! stop trying to justify shitty writing decisions!!!
