Abby let out a nervous chuckle. "I could say the same for myself. Strange, isn't it? I mean— nobody seems to have any idea what happened the other night, and now the whole town has been covered in debris. Any idea what it could have been?"

"it is" she agreed with a nod of her head "they're saying it was a sudden storm, a squall that spiralled into a full on storm. not much more information than that right now. it's not uncommon for us to see some rough weather around here but that one has been the worst one in a long while."

"The best part is he made extra so we get to keep the top layer of the cake to eat for the next five days straight," Tina beamed. "And! We made sure that the wine we picked goes really well with it too, so they aren't, like, competing flavours." Tina spoke as if she was, in fact, a flavour connoisseur (when in reality, James had done much of the real decision-making when it came to the levels of taste (physical and metaphorical)).

"By the way, how are you enjoying your table guests?"

"that was kind of him. and what a great perk for the bride and groom to be able to keep a chunk of cake for themselves. smart" she grinned "listen to you, you're a proper connoisseur now." tina looked radiant and like she was on cloud nine, like a new bride should be.

"it's a fun table, they've been great company. i don't envy james and yourself having to organise all these tables"

Abby was as perplexed by the Halloween storm as everyone else, and she couldn't help but wonder what exactly had caused it. It seemed... almost supernatural in nature, but she couldn't prove it. So, she essentially decided to drop it, and move on to just helping clean up the aftermath. Of course she'd offered to help in the aftermath. Even though she was smaller, she could still carry a decent amount. The problem was that she got a bit ambitious, and couldn't see that she was about to bump into someone until it was almost too late.

"OH— So sorry, that could have ended terribly... I didn't bump you, did I?"

like the majority of the town, jessie had volunteered to help with clean up duties. carrying some of the broken fences to the designated area, she was unable see if anyone was approaching it and in turn it became too late when she almost crashed into someone, dropping what she was carrying

"sorry! no, it's my fault. i should carry things that i'm able to see over"

"No," Tina replied bluntly. "You don't have to do that. If he isn't here, he isn't here. I don't want people talking about it." None of this would truly hit Tina until further down the line. Today she was going to choose to ignore the feelings that were bubbling under the surface.

She was so relieved when Jessie suggested cake that her shoulders visibly dropped an inch. "Yes! Cake! Terence made it for us. It's genuinely the best cake I've ever tasted in my life. Let's go!" With the impatience of a toddler, she linked arms with Jessie, pulling her toward the cake.

she understood why tina didn't want to go into, not today of all days. it was her and james' day. once all the celebrations would calm down they could talk about it if tina wanted to.

"it's a beautiful cake and with terence's baking skills i have no doubt that it will be the best cake we've all ever eaten. only the best for you on your big day" she grinned, linking arms and letting tina drag her towards the cake table.

Either answer would have made Tina feel some type of way. Peter's attendance felt like a great big cloud, looming overhead for days before the wedding. Now that the formalities were done... her worries hadn't left. Tina had tried to mentally prepared herself for anything, but it stung all the same. He wasn't there.

"Oh, I don't care anyway," she replied quickly. Too quickly. Her shoulders shrugged, her brow furrowed. Tina looked elsewhere, the usual sign that she wasn't being wholly honest. "More cake for everyone."

"sorry, t. if he was around i never saw him. i'll ask around to see if anyone has seen him here today" it was the least she could do. hopefully peter would be mature and put his differences aside for tina's day. it was her wedding after all.

she cared. tina cared and jessie didn't blame her. tina and peter have ben two peas in a pod their whole lives, having it fall apart over his stubbornness would be heartbreaking for anyone. "speaking of cake, how about we go grab a slice?"

Tina paused for a moment, debating whether to ask the question running through her mind or not. It had been on the tip of her tongue all day, and Tina, ever the glutton for punishment, couldn't hold it in much longer. She leaned in close to Jessie, lower her voice so no one else could hear. "Did you see Peter?"

jessie was dreading the question that tina asked her. she didn't want the bride to be upset on her big day and she wasn't sure how tina was going to take the news. jessie sighed and softly shook her head "sorry tina, i didn't. i hoped he would show for you but if he did, i didn't see him"

Honeymaren hated being an inconvenience. Normally, she wouldn't take a phone call in a public place like this unless it was an emergency. She always wanted to remain as considerate of others around her as possible. "Are you sure? I don't mind, really. I'm sorry, they're having issues at the college for the science department, and I was supposed to help one of the professors with their dissertation that is due soon, and just... sorry, it's just been a lot," she let out a nervous laugh. "Wow... talk about over sharing, I apologize." Honeymaren stepped to the side to allow the line to keep moving, holding a hand to her forehead.

jessie didn't mind waiting around, she was in no rush to get anywhere today and someone being held up by an important phone call wasn't something jessie was ever going to take issue with. "it's okay, please don't apologise. it sounds like you've got a lot going on, do you want a coffee?"

Honeymaren's face reddened, completely embarrassed. "Oh, gosh... I'm sorry about that. Uh, here, what's your order? It's on me, I promise." She turned to the cashier, and gave an apologetic look. "I'll just have a black tea, with milk, please, and a bit of honey. And, whatever they're having. So sorry about that."

"no, it's okay, you're all good. you don't need to do that. it's not your fault a call came though to you" she tried to convince honeymaren that it wasn't a big deal. the coffee wasn't running out any time soon. after honeymaren sorted her order, jessie placed her own.

Tina clapped her hands excitedly, a vibrant giggle escaping her lips. Then, as if keeping herself grounded, she grabbed Jessie's hands. "They did! I don't think it could have gone any better." Part of her wondered if she was dreaming, frankly, because it was not like Tina's life to allow her very many good things without something going wrong. "Like... no one bit anyone. No one died. I don't even think anyone was gently escorted out the back."

she was over the moon that the wedding had happened she tina and james without any issues, especially any issues from peter pan. she knew tina and him hadn't been on the best terms and she would've been lying if she said she wasn't a little nervous at how he would play out the day "everyone was well behaved, even the lost boys."

"Yes, I understand, but I can't talk about that right now... I have to go... okay, bye." Honeymaren hung up the phone, and sighed, putting it aside.

"Oh, I'm sorry— what were you saying?"

jessie was waiting in the line of impatient customers for coffee. the cashier was calling the next person in line but honeymaren was on the phone. not to be rude, she tapped her on the shoulder to try and signal that she was free to order but it never transpired.

when she got off the phone, jessie took her opportunity "the cashier is calling you to go order" she smiled "i didn't want to barge in on your call"

Tina did not let go of Jessie's arms for a good five minutes while they screamed. There were so many feelings to let out, it was no surprise it lasted so long. "Thanks, I really needed that," she said, finally letting go. A sigh of relief followed but it was obvious that Tina was utterly vibrating. "Is it just my imagination or did things go, like, weirdly okay?"

jessie was happy to continue screaming until the air in her lungs ran out. once they got the screaming out of their systems, jessie nodded and regained composure "good, i'm here to help" tina just got married, no wonder she was bursting with excitement. "they went great! they went perfect for you both"

Tina was currently cycling through every single emotion known to mankind (and then some) and she seriously needed a moment away in a quiet room to just scream at the top of her lungs with a good friend. She grabbed Jessie, whisked her away to a secluded area and breathed a sigh of relief. "Jessie, please scream with me before I burst."

jessie was in conversation with some of the guests when all of a sudden she was yanked from the crowd with a yelp. it wasn't until she clocked who had pulled her away "you got it boss" she simply answered before she started screaming for tina.

patrick looked over at the old man that looked like he'd seen a monster emerge "i- uh- sorry old guy" he apologised to the elderly man and looked to jessie for approval that he did good by apologising.

jessie looked to see if the old man would accept patricks apology and lucky for him, he did. she gave a nod to the man and let him carry on with his day "you did good, patrick. maybe next time don't go startling old people?"

it was a rare occasion that eilonwy had a day off, and she was spending it doing as little as humanly possible. this morning, she’d had a lazy morning consisting of a long lie in bed and then a leisurely breakfast. continuing on with her day, eilonwy found herself sitting at enchanted rose café enjoying a coffee and pastry. she’d popped by to say hello to babette and victor but given the fact that the café was so busy she didn’t want to interrupt them.

“excuse me, could you please pass me one of those napkins?”
