“Who said you had to be?” he asked, furrowing his brows at her words of having to be human. He let up a half grin, biting his lip as his eyes traveled down her lean frame, but soon distracting himself with wanting a drink, walking around the couch toward the coffee table that held display of a few of his favorite alcohols. Take a clean glass, and dropping in a few cubes, he filled his glass half way with a liquid that matched the color of his eyes exactly, swirling around the liquid as he listened the girl’s words, agreeing, he took down a lot of the strong drink, “mmm,” he started, starting to hum before he’s even swallowed it all, “I beg to differ. I’ve seen one sick girl that looked like she was on her death bed, and another just plain ugly and in her 40′s. I put her out of her misery of course, her life was over anyway, but I regret how fast it went. Can’t get off to ugly, but surely can eat it.”
“Well, I don’t think you could claim a vampire the way you’d claim a human, now could you?” Jessie replied, a hint of amusement in her voice. When he walked away to get a drink, she decided to flop down on the couch, crossing one leg over the other -- still watching him intently. He was definitely attractive, and she found it odd that she’d never spoken to him before -- or at least seen him before. “Why would they even bring a woman in her 40′s? I’d at least like her to have a little life in her before I eat her.” She commented, grimacing -- glad that she hadn’t seen anybody like that yet. “What’re you drinking? Care to share with a lovely lady?”
