Good Omens Theory: Crowley was Baraqiel

I want to talk about this moment for just a second.

When Crowley and Aziraphale are being threatened with legions of demons for consorting together, Furfur takes out a little booklet of names.

And one of those is Baraqiel.

Now obviously I cannot say for sure that this is who Crowley was. No one can. But I ended up doing a little digging on the name. And here's what I found.

1.Baraqiel is the archangel of light and lightning

2. He was in charge of the guardian angels in Heaven (any guardian angels come to mind...?) and helped them with their blessings on Earth.

3. He manifested in both male and female form.

4. He is associated with the archangel Raphael, who made the stars, working alongside him to craft the universe ("I didn't make it," said Crowley to Aziraphale at the beginning. "But I worked very closely with the person who did.")

5. He is often seen to represent planets and stars.

6. He is the protector of children.

Now, again. I can't say that this is for sure. Not at all. This could be completely and utterly wrong.

But I am saying that the Clues with a capital C are very much pointing towards this being a possibility.

I watched all of Good Omens season 2 last night and I AM IN SHAMBLES JUST LIKE INEFFABLE HUSBANDS IS. TUMBLR YOU'RE NOT HELPING. I never saw the spoiler, so I went in totally blind, and I was so happy seeing Ineffable Bureaucracy was canon and they got to be happy, BUT THEN I WAS CRUSHED BY THAT WHOLE SCENE. AZIRAPHALE. "I FORGIVE YOU"?? REALLY?? CROWLEY LITERALLY WATCHED HIS FORMER BOSS GET THE LIFE HE'S ALWAYS WANTED AND THEN IS TOLD "I FORGIVE YOU" WHEN HE KISSES AZIRAPHALE. Crowley and Aziraphale were under a sudden rainstorm together at Eden, they shared a formal dance at the ball, AND AZIRAPHALE THREW IT OUT THE WINDOW. Me and my friend have been all over this shit. Crowley hella thinks that Aziraphale loves him as an angel but not as a demon. Imagine Maggie and Nina going to the bookshop to ask Crowley how it went, one to be presented with Muriel. Imagine them finding Crowley sulking in his Bentley half-way across London and him spilling everything to them. I saw a tumblr post saying that in season 3 they should give Crowley a boyfriend, and my and my friend are just imagining an au where Aziraphale coming back only to see Crowley kissing this human boyfriend of his. We've been imagining Crowley terrified of telling this new boyfriend things because of what went down with Aziraphale. We've been imagining this new boyfriend only finding out Crowley is a demon because he had a rage outburst. We've been imagining Crowley terrified this new boyfriend will leave him for being a demon like he thinks Aziraphale did. SEASON 3 PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF SOMEBODY LET INEFFABLE HUSBANDS NOT BE IN SHAMBLES. THEY'RE INEFFABLE. Can we all give a collective slap to Aziraphale? Also I have seen the coffee theory but that deserves a whole rant of it's own.
