Cadillac Mountain Granite View. In early September 2012 I visited Maine for the first time, starting in Bar Harbor (“Bah Hahbah”). I spent a day in Acadia National Park, and hiked up the granite rocks of Cadillac Mountain. I love geology, and I splashed water on rocks to light up their colors. And the view down the granite slope to the Ocean, I’ll never forget it.
When I got back to Washington, DC, I broke out my watercolor paints for the first time in years and painted this scene as if a recent rain allowed the drying stones to share their colors.
