Aria (satyr lady) tends to not wear armor because a lot of effective armor isn't discrete enough or is too heavy to wear while traveling and she likes the benefit of being able to present herself as an unprepared airheaded rich girl so that people either leave her alone or underestimate her in a fight.

Kobolds in this setting are basically people who've been cursed and are treated as subhuman so Cindy is already hated by most people. She likes to lean into the idea that she's Aria's servant turned body guard that dresses up in showy armor because Aria thinks it looks cute (it's somewhat protective but Cindy used to be skilled enough in stealth/combat that she wasn't worried that much about that)
