“Alright. We got the wall of roses all set up, the cake is still being iced, and the giant bunny I ordered should be arriving this afternoon.” Tony rattled off as he waltzed through his living room. Workers were scattered across the room, setting up various party decorations. Every inch of Tony’s grand estate was or would be covered with blue streamers, Teddy’s bears, or baby blue flowers.
“Please tell me you didn’t buy another giant bunny.” Pepper groaned as her heels clicked against the cool marble floor.
“If my grandson wants a giant bunny, I’m getting him a giant bunny. Just because you didn’t like yours doesn’t mean Benjamin won’t like his.” Tony pouted. The giant bunny was still a sore topic for the couple.
“You don’t know what he wants.” Pepper reasoned. “He’s not even one.”
“But he will be. That’s what this party is for. And I have to above and beyond for my only grandson. So a giant bunny he shall receive.” Tony insisted.
“What’s this about a giant bunny?” You asked as you entered the room. You kissed both your parents on the cheek and took a look around the room. Even unfinished, the room looked incredible. Tony sure knew how to throw a party.
“Dad, this looks amazing! You did all this for Benji?” You asked as a man carrying a gigantic 7 tier cake walked past you.
“Y/n, Benji is my first and only grandson. There is nothing I wouldn’t spend, give up, do, or build for him.” Tony declared.
“Build?” You asked, ignoring the other sentimental parts of your father’s statement. “Tell me you didn’t build my one year old son an iron suit.”
“Please, Y/n. Don’t be ridiculous.” Tony pretended to be offended.
“Okay, good.” You warned.
“I’m saving Mark B for his fourth birthday.” Tony said quickly and under his breath.
“This looks great, dad.” You repeated, still in awe at his far your father was willing to go for his family. “I have to run. Benji’s bed time is soon. I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” You hugged your parents goodbye and drove home.
“What’s all this?” You asked with a skeptical smile as you set your bag down. You saw your husband balancing Benji on his hip as he mumbled some baby talk in his little ear. You approached Peter as you walked through a curtain of streamers. There was a makeshift “happy birthday” sign hanging up above the doorway, as well as a few other drawings tapped to the walls with webs. It had no doubtably been colored in by Benji, with a little help from Peter. Peter gave you a gentle kiss on the lips before you took Benji in your arms.
“I know your dad is throwing Benji the most extravagant birthday party a one year old could ask for, but I thought we could have our own little family party tonight. Just the three of us.” Peter said softly while brushing some of Benjis curls off his forehead. You smiled fondly at your husband.
“I love that idea, Pete.” You said sincerely. “Thank you.”
“It’s no trouble.” Peter assured you. “Benji and I baked these cupcakes, with zero help from Benji. And then we frosted them, also with no help from Benji.” Peter sighed. “I just don’t think baking is in our sons future.”
“I’m so sorry. I know you had high hopes for his baking career.” You teased.
“I’ll get over it. I guess he’ll have to be a genius scientist like his mom.” Peter said with sarcastic disappointment.
“Or a superhero like his daddy.” You beamed as you rubbed Peters shoulder.
“We can only hope.” Peter gave you a warm smile and kissed your temple. “Shall we light the candle?”
You nodded and stepped closer to Peter. He wrapped his arm around your waist with one arm and picked up the lighter with the other. He lit the singular candle on the cupcake, a chunky white number one with a red border. The soft glow of the candle dimly lit up your faces. Benji’s eyes lit up at the sight of fire for the first time. The warm glow cast shadows on his small features, illuminating his gentle face.
You and Peter softly sang the words to “happy birthday” to your son. He was too entranced by the light of the candle to listen. It was yours and Peters first time ever singing it to him. The first time he’d ever heard it. It was a moment Benji would never remember, but one you and Peter would never forget. Benji reached for the light but you protectively held him back.
“Happy Birthday, dear Benji.” You and Peter sang. “Happy Birthday to you.”
“Make a wish, sweet boy.” You said as you bounced Benji slightly.
“Let’s make it for him.” Peter suggested. You nodded and leaned closer to the flame.
“I wish for our little family to stay like this, always.” Peter said. “What’d you wish for?”
“I can’t tell you or it won’t come true.” You shook your head at Peter for not knowing the basic rules of wishes. He laughed at your disapproval.
“My bad.“ he smiled.
You and Peter leaned in and blew out the candle. Benji laughed happily and clapped his hands. He reached out and grabbed for the smoke.
“We better get to bed. Benji has a big day tomorrow.” Peter suggested. You yawned suddenly, not realizing how tired you were until then.
“Okay. Goodnight, Birthday boy.” You kissed both your sons cheeks. “And goodnight, non birthday boy.” You kissed both of Peters cheeks.
The party went as planned. It was even bigger than you expected. Tony’s house looked like the baby shower section of a Party City. All of the Avengers were there, dressed in their finest attire. To kick the part off, Thor created a light show in the sky with lightning. Tony had spliced together every picture and video of Benji in existence and created a momentous montage of his life. You and Peter mingled with the other guests, but always managed to stay close by each other.
After cake and a few drinks, you and Peter helped Benji open all his presents, most of them being from Tony. Once you had finished and your fingers were sore from all the wrapping paper you had to rip, Benji seemed to own every baby product, onesie, and toy in the world. You and Peter were grateful for all the gifts and thanked everyone while internally wondering how you’d ever fit it all in your apartment.
“Well, that’s a wrap on presents. Coffee, anyone?” Tony rubbed his knee and looked around for takers.
“Not so fast.” You spoke up, bringing the attention back to you. “There’s one more present.”
Tony looked at you confused. All the presents had been opened. You were all sitting in a sea of torn wrapping paper to prove it.
“I’m pretty sure we opened everything, pumpkin. There’s nothing more we could possible give to Benji. If there was, I’d find it and buy him the company that manufactures it.”
You laughed at your father and turned to Peter.
“It’s not a present for Benji.” Peter cut in. “We got you a present to say thank you.”
“Really?” Tony asked. A proud gleam was in his dark eyes. He was glad to see his daughter was a giver, no matter the occasion. “You didn’t have to do that. This party was nothing. I barely spent a million dollars. Wait till he turns 16.”
“Well we appreciate it nonetheless, so we got together to make you something special.” Peter nudged you with his elbow just enough that no one could see. You nudged him back.
“Something special?” Tony quipped, suddenly more intrigued than proud. “What is it? Whatever it is, don’t hand it to me. I don’t like things being handed to me.”
“I know, dad. Don’t worry, no ones going to hand anything to you.” You assured your father. “But because it’s so special, the present won’t be here for another nine months.”
“Honey, I told you you could use my Amazon Prime account so you don’t have to wait that long for packages. Just log into OH MY GOD ARE YOU PREGNANT?” Tony suddenly put the pieces together. You put a hand over your stomach and nodded as a wide grin spread across your face. Tears came to Tony’s eyes.
“We are. Well, she is.” Peter confirmed. “And its a girl this time. Y/n is actually three months along but we needed to say “nine months” for the joke.”
“I told you not to explain the joke.” You whispered to Peter harshly.
“I physically had to.” Peter said out of the corner of his mouth.
“My little girl is having a little girl.” Tony beamed as he took your hands. You smiled at your dad and wiped a tear away from his cheek with your thumb. “Does your mother know?”
“She took the pregnancy test when she was on FaceTime with me.” Pepper, who was seated next to Tony, chimed in. It had been difficult to keep the news hidden from her husband for so long, but the look at his face made it all worth it.
“You knew about this and you didn’t tell me, Pepper?” Tony looked over his shoulder.
“What? It was nice to know more than you for once.” Pepper said smugly.
“If your baby girl is anything like your mother, teenage years are going to be rough.” Tony said as he turned back to you. You and Peter laughed. “You’re gonna have a little mini Pepper around.” Tony gushed.
“You can name her Salt.” Sam shouted from somewhere in the back. Peter shot him a look.
“We’re not naming our daughter salt.” Peter declared. Sam shrugged and took a sip of his beer.
“It sounds like a good name to me.” Rhodey added.
This resulted in a discussion among the crowd about the baby’s name. After a surplus of congratulations from everyone, you and Peter found yourselves alone in a corner with Benji.
“I can’t believe we’re gonna do this all over again.” You said in disbelief. Now that everyone knew, it was finally sinking in that you and Peter were going to have another baby. “I guess our little family isn’t so little anymore. Is that okay with you?” You thought back to the night before when Peter wished your family would always stay the way it was.
“Are you kidding?” Peter laughed. He shook his head at you. “It’s not the size that I love. It’s the fact that it’s ours.”
“It is ours.” You smiled proudly at your son. You loved your little family. Peter was like a beautiful melody and Benji was his perfect reprise.
“Hey, you never told me what you wished for last night.” Peter reminded. You chuckled to yourself.

You had first met your best friend Peter Parker two years ago after you learned you had powers and had been discovered by the Avengers. Being the youngest two of the Avengers and the same age, you and Peter were practically attached at the hip and everyone was aware of it. Whether it was having each other’s backs during missions, helping each other with homework or binge watching the latest sci-fi television show together, you and Peter were inseparable.
Can i request a johnny storm x avenger!reader (like maybe reader has the same powers as wanda? But in green). I just want more of these type of stories 😭💟
Beautiful… and totally badass.
Johnny Storm x fem!NewAvenger!reader
Word count: 3k Masterlist
Summary: Johnny Storm thinks you’re beautiful. And he won’t stop saying it until you believe it.
It had been ten days since your team had opened the doors of the “New” Avengers Tower to the Fantastic Four.
Ten days since Reed Richards had somehow turned one of the labs into something only he understood.
Ten days since Sue Storm had quietly become everyone's favorite person.
Ten days since Ben Grimm had started beating Bucky at chess and refused to explain how.
Ten days since Johnny Storm had walked into your life.
Everything had been turned upside down. The world was ending and everyone was trying to remain uncomfortably calm. Trainings were more intense because of the unspoken tension that lingered above everyone.
You lived with a bunch of emotionally constipated adults, so redirecting the stress was the only thing you all knew how to do.
One thing you hadn't expected to be turned upside down was your love life. Or rather, your complete lack thereof.
But Johnny Storm had apparently made different plans the second he laid eyes on you.
You had all trauma bonded effectively immediately while trying to figure out how you were going to save the world.
It was no secret to anyone that you had a crush on the Fantastic Four’s golden boy (as Ben dubbed him) Johnny Storm. And that’s mostly because having a crush or even being slightly affected by a man, was completely out of character for you.
You were scooping peanut butter directly from the jar to your mouth when Johnny interrupted your thoughts.
“You know,” he said as he leaned against the kitchen island, “green's a really good color on you.”
You slowly slid the spoon out of your mouth, contemplating how to respond as you tried to swallow the peanut butter, “I’m wearing blue,” you said, slightly muffled.
“Im not talking about your clothes, hun, I'm talking about your powers,” he said with a smirk.
You pointed your spoon at him, “you mean the ones that are currently not glowing?”
“They were this morning,” he said knowingly.
“They're usually glowing when I’m kicking your ass,” you quipped.
“They're beautiful,” the air shifted from the light teasing to sudden tension that felt like it surrounded you.
You sighed dramatically before finally looking at him, “I’m told by many sources you flirt with everyone.”
He scoffed in offense, “I do not.”
You tossed your spoon in the sink, “you absolutely do. And I have it on reaaaalllly good sources.”
He crossed both his arms, “I absolutely don't.”
“You told Yelena her haircut nearly made her a ten,” you said knowingly.
He scoffed again, “it’s a compliment.”
“You told Bucky his haircut made him mysterious,” you put your finger to your chin, pretending to ponder, “oh yeah… and that if he wasn’t so scary you would totally approach him at a bar.”
Johnny shrugged.
Bucky looked up from the newspaper he was pretending to read from the couch, “she’s right. And… please stop flirting with me.”
“I compliment people… with character,” he said, trying to defend himself.
You sighed, “you have a problem.”
Johnny grinned, “oh beautiful, you are not the first to say so.”
You couldn't help smiling.
The problem with Johnny Storm, besides the obvious, was that he somehow was managing to fit into every part of your day.
He was at the counter when you had your morning coffee. Always trained at the same time as you. Sat on the couch during your movie nights, and even tagged along on patrols,
He always found his way beside you. Sometimes you found yourself wondering if it was intentional.
Sometimes you caught him looking at you from across the room.
Sometimes, more often than you wanted to admit, you caught yourself looking first.
“You know he's flirting with you,” Yelena's voice came from beside you as the two of you cleaned weapons after training.
You rolled your eyes, “Yelena, he flirted with the barista this morning.”
She pursed her lips, “yes, but, he flirts differently with you.”
You let out a dry laugh, “yeah, no.”
She smirked, looking up from her knife, “he follows you around like lost puppy.”
You simply scoffed in response.
“He literally waited outside library yesterday because you said you wanted book,” she added.
“He probably just likes to read.”
Yelena just stared, “yeah?”
You exhaled, “no.”
She sighed, “my friend I think you are hopeless.”
You didn't think Johnny Storm could possibly be interested in someone like you. Not in a way that mattered or meant anything.
Sure, he flirted and smiled. And even winked. Sure, he somehow remembered every little thing you told him.
But he was Johnny Storm.
The kind of person who lit up every room he walked into.
You had grown up in a cell on a Hydra base that you still don’t know the exact location of.
You had spent years believing affection was manipulation, praise was a weapon and love was a weakness.
You made it easier by reminding yourself that he needed someone brighter, someone full of light and hope. Not someone so dark and stormy inside their mind. And definitely not someone who could take out an entire city with one movement of her wrists.
Someone who hadn't spent half her life learning how to survive instead of how to live.
JOHNNY POV
The frustration was growing with every passing day in the tower.
He laid out on Ben’s bed, as Ben sat at the special desk Bruce Banner built for him. Ben was fiddling with the Eart-616 tech that sat in front of him.
“You know,” he complained, “I've been flirting with her for over two weeks straight.”
Ben didn't even look up from what he was doing, “oh yeah. You got it real tough.”
“I tried compliments, winking, I even made her pancakes the other day because she mentioned she loved them but didn’t like the hassle," he listed off his attempts.
Ben finally looked up, “you cooked?”
“I burned the first batch,” Johnny said with a sigh.
“Figured.”
“The second batch was good,” Johnny said, still looking at the ceiling.
“Glad you got it right.”
Johnny sighed dramatically, “she still thinks I'm just being nice.”
Ben laughed, “oh kid…”
Johnny turned his head to look at Ben, “what?”
“You've got it bad,” Ben said with another laugh.
Johnny squeezed his eyes shut and groaned in response.
It happened less than a week after he confided in Ben. It was a late night for both of you.
The rest of the tower had gone quiet. Cooped up in their rooms and in a deep sleep.
You couldn't sleep.
On nights like this when your thoughts kept you up for whatever reason, you found yourself in the training room.
Whether it was hitting a punching bag until your knuckles bled, or conjuring your power and practicing controlling your energy, this was for some reason a room where you felt at peace.
Tonight just so happened to be the latter. You were sitting on the mat, green energy curled around your fingertips.
The lights dimmed automatically as the energy absorbed into you and activated around your hands.
The training machine that Tony Stark had built for you years ago hummed across the room. It was barely functional these days, but you made Bruce fix it every time he came to the tower.
The small latched opened and released the small robots.
Five drones.
Ten.
Twenty.
They rushed toward you. You raised one hand in a small, controlled movement.
The first drone froze in midair.
Another flick of your wrist and three more slammed into the walls.
Green energy exploded through the room in ribbons of light, simultaneously making the other sixteen explode.
You barely moved, years of training allowed you to use your hands and your breathing. With full focus you were a nearly unstoppable force.
You were so focused that you hadn’t realized that Johnny was stopped dead in his tracks behind the observation glass.
He hadn't meant to interrupt. He'd only come looking for a midnight snack and maybe to play around with some of the Earth-616 weapons.
Instead, he watched in complete silence. Your hair was tied up loosely, allowing your tank top to show off every muscle you had earned in training, it made Johnny feel warm inside to see how beautiful you looked. Like a goddess in the flesh.
You weren't just powerful. You were a force of nature. He had seen you throw some of the energy balls you created his way during training, but with the green glowing around you, hitting each drone with precision, it took his breath away.
The green light danced across your face as the drones continued to surround you.
You closed your eyes and the entire room trembled.
Suddenly every drone you hadn’t already taken out hung motionless in the air.
The thing is, it looked completely effortless. Your shoulders were relaxed and your hands rested on your knees with your palms facing up.
He snuck closer, opening the door and closing it as quietly as he could, standing behind you, but far enough away that you couldn’t sense him.
Your hands glowed brighter.
With one sharp movement, the drones folded inward like paper. Metal compressed into perfect little cubes.
You moved your hands an inch and they clattered onto the floor around you.
And then, there was complete silence. You exhaled and your breathing echoed through the room.
“Holy…” It was a whisper, but due to the vast silence, you startled.
You spun, immediately holding up your hands in a defensive position, angering the green orbs towards the intruder.
Johnny stood in the doorway, holding his hands up in surrender.
You immediately dropped your hands, exhaling, “jesus, Johnny. I thought I was alone.”
He laughed nervously.
Embarrassment warmed your cheeks as you processed what he had just witnessed, “you saw all that?”
He rubbed the back of his neck, “uh, yeah.”
You looked away. You didn’t typically invite an audience while you practiced, “it's not exactly something I show people. I usually reserve the show for dire situations.”
“Why— why would you hide that?” He asked, stepping closer to you.
Your shoulders lifted slightly, “people usually look at me differently afterward.”
He took another step, “they’re afraid of you.”
You didn't answer. Because he was right and your silence confirmed it.
Some people admired your abilities, but most people felt quite the opposite.
Both felt lonely.
Johnny stopped only a few inches away, “I wasn’t scared?”
“No?” It was barely above a whisper.
He shook his head, “god, it was— it was beautiful.”
You laughed quietly, heat creeping up your neck despite yourself.
“Not to mention it was totally bad ass,” he added, earning a true laugh out of you.
His voice softened, “and I think you're incredible.”
The words caught you completely off guard, “you do?”
“I think,” he paused to search for the right words, “I’ve never seen anyone as beautiful as you, he took another step closer. “I've also never seen someone hold that much power and be so worried about hurting someone. And not trying to figure out how they can use it for themselves.”
You blinked.
“You hold back,” he continued, reading you like a goddamn book. Something like this, being so emotionally exposed, being profiled, would usually make you want to crawl in a hole. But with him doing it, you felt seen.
You let out a shaky breath, “all the time.”
“Yeah,” another step, “I do it too.”
Your throat tightened. Nobody had ever described your powers that way. You had never met someone who felt what you felt.
They called you a weapon, a hydra mutant, a psycho, but never beautiful.
Johnny smiled, “you know what else?”
You couldn’t help the twitch of your lips, “what?”
He held your gaze, “I couldn’t stop looking at you.”
Heat rushed to your face.
“No,” he took another step, the one that nearly closed the distance. The step that had you feeling his heart beat against yours and his breath tickling your face. “I'm serious. You are,” he shook his head, smiling like he couldn't quite believe the words himself, “you are unbelievably beautiful.”
You stared at him, dumbfounded. This was far from his usual flirtatious quirks.
His voice had become almost impossibly gentle, “I wasn’t totally ecstatic to have to travel to this earth. But then I met you and I thought, maybe this was meant to be. And every time you show me a movie or teach me a new emoji, it’s so much more than that for me.”
The room suddenly felt very small.
“And this whole time— you’re thinking I'm out of your league," he said accusingly, but light.
Your eyes widened, “Johnny—”
He raised his brow, head tilted down to look right at you.
You opened your mouth, but closed it again. He was reading you to filth.
He smiled softly.
“I've spent this whole time trying to convince you that it is quite literally the other way around,” his voice was so low it was making you feel dizzy.
You tried to steady your breathing, but your heart was pounding. Silence settled between you.
“I only stay awake until two in the morning hoping someone else can't sleep,” he was close enough now that you could see every shade of blue in his eyes.
He lifted his hand slowly and his fingertips brushed a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
Your mind went completely blank, suddenly you reached both fists up and gently pulled his tshirt towards you. Without a second thought you kissed him.
He was just as warm as you thought he’d be. He froze for a single second, out of shock most likely, before moving both his hands to your waist and leaning into the kiss.
The green energy around your fingertips flickered instinctively, tiny sparks dancing harmlessly around the room before fading away.
When you finally pulled back, he rested his forehead lightly against yours. Your chest heaved from the adrenaline that rushed straight to your head.
“Well, I’ll admit,” he bit his bottom lip, “I was kind of hoping to do that, to you.”
A surprised laugh escaped you, “I just wanted you to shut up.”
He laughed at that, a real one that you could feel vibrate in his ribs because of how close you were.
“Wanna know something embarrassing?” He asked quietly.
You were still holding your head against his, enjoying the warmth and closeness, “what?”
“Ben bet me twenty bucks you were gonna throw me across the room with your mind tricks,” he admitted with a smile.
You shrugged, “oh it definitely crossed my mind.”
He laughed again, “yeah? Then what changed your mind?”
You smiled shyly, “I guess I kind of wanted to kiss you more than I wanted to injure you.”
His grin was instantaneous, “I’ll take it.”
The days after that somehow felt lighter.
Johnny insisted on you showing him all your favorite parts of modern life that he wouldn’t know.
And through doing that you realized you never gotten the chance to enjoy them. With him, it all felt fun. Life just felt better.
He introduced you to karaoke. That’s right. You had never done it before. You actually thought it was just something they did in movies.
You absolutely refused at first.
And then he got up there and sang an awful rendition of Killer Queen. Just to make you laugh.
Yelena and Bucky were stood at the bar with their jaws all the way on the ground, but you were smiling from ear to ear.
He took you to an arcade. And he was beyond pissed when you beat every high score within an hour.
He dramatically accused you of cheating.
He hadn’t packed much, but one thing he did have was a light brown cable knit sweater. When you were cold one night, he simply tossed it to you, not giving it a second thought.
You had realized in that moment, it was the first time someone had ever truly given you something just because. You brought it to your nose, soaking up the smell of his cologne and natural pheromones.
He taught you how to roast marshmallows over the tiny flames dancing in his palm on the tower's rooftop.
You showed him old records Natasha had loved and you had taken from her old apartment after she passed.
He listened to every story, every ounce of grief that you carried with you in your day to day life.
He let you open up at your own pace, and not once judged you.
And somehow, without either of you noticing exactly when it happened, those late-night conversations turned into stolen mornings, lingering touches, inside jokes, and quiet moments where simply sitting beside each other felt like enough.
For the first time in your life, love didn't feel like a weakness. It felt like strength.
It felt like the power to keep going and be a better person. It wrapped you up in every aspect of your life and Johnny just had a way of knowing you without even trying.
And every time Johnny looked at you, whether you were laughing over burnt pancakes, glowing with impossible power in the training room, or simply existing beside him, you believed him a little more when he smiled and said, “you’re so beautiful.”
And not trying to figure out how they can use it for themselves.”

ok but how funny would it be if when johnny has a kid they're totally obsessed with spiderman. spiderman cups, spiderman toys, spiderman pajamas, spiderman shoes— everything is all spiderman. johnny's super confused as to why his child is so obsessed with his web-slinging uncle when his dad can literally light himself on fire😭
Omg 🤣 it’s giving Chris Pratt’s son’s favorite superhero being Captain America haha. Have a little piece about this bc I love me some spideytorch and dad!johnny 🤍
The other favorite superhero 🕸️
At first it wasn’t that weird for Johnny, because fair, the kid’s inner circle is full of superheroes, so it’s only normal he likes one outside the family. It’s okay if he wants a few things, everyone likes uncle spidey. But then…it turns into Spiderman EVERYTHING.
Toys? Fine. Shoes? They light up, so they’re fun. Fine. Toothbrush? Weird flex but okay. Pajamas? Johnny liked the F4 ones more to be honest but fine. Human torch lunchbox replaced for a spidey one? Ouch. Now the bedsheets too?? When is it gonna end???
But do you want to know where Johnny draws the line? The moment you show him the invitations for your son’s birthday.
SWING BY MY BIRTHDAY PARTY 🕸️🕷️
The absolute look of betrayal he gives you is everything. “What have you done??”
“It’s what he wanted, Johnny,” you chuckle.
“Absolutely not. Swing by? Seriously?”
“We can’t keep making human torch themed ones every year.”
“He asked for them!”
“Well now he asked for this.” You gather the invitations and pat them to his chest. “Now would you be a sunshine and go deliver these? Since you fly and everything…”
Johnny looks down at the invitations pressed to him and takes them with theatrical disgust, knowing damn well he was going to do everything you say anyways.
“What’s the point of flying if your son doesn’t care,” he mutters to himself, rolling his eyes. “Please tell me he’s still going to wear his fantastic suit? He loves to wear it on his birthday.”
You sigh, cupping his cheeks. It only makes his pout worse. “He’s going to be wearing the Spiderman one so he can match the entertainer.”
The moment the word “entertainer” leaves your lips, you would think you told Johnny you were dying. The four stages of grief go through his face in seconds. Don’t mind the fifth, cause there’s no way he’s accepting this.
“You hired a man to wear a Spiderman costume and entertain MY child’s birthday party?”
“Our child,” you correct. “And uhh…it’s actually Peter. He agreed to it.”
“Oh fantastic!” Not.
He steps back from you dramatically, looking into the distance. You don’t like that look. You don’t like the way his eyes light up with an idea.
“You know what? I’m hiring myself,” he deadpans.
“What? Johnny–“
“Yeah yeah. Wait until they see me land on the yard, after I write spidey on the sky with fire. That’ll show them.”
“Show them? It’s a bunch of five year olds!!” you laugh, but it doesn’t phase him at all.
“That’s the demographic, yes,” he smiles shamelessly, walking over to you and planting a loud kiss on your cheek. “Gotta deliver these so I can plan my entrance,” he shakes the invitations in his hand and winks, taking off before you can knock some sense into him.
Eventually you do.
Johnny lets his son have his “dream birthday party” (a little bit exaggerated to call it that if you ask him, but he’ll allow it) without disrupting the entertainment.
Seeing his kid so happy is more than enough. Even if it is because Peter Parker is simply too good with kids. Pft. It’s just a phase anyways. (Right?)
His moment to shine comes when you pull out the red/blue birthday cake, and your son takes off his Spiderman mask to make puppy eyes at Johnny, tugging at the fabric of his beige pants.
“Daddy, daddy, light the candles pwease!!”
That’s all it takes for Johnny Storm to melt.
“Of course, buddy,” he says softly, picking him up with the brightest smile, tickling his little belly.
The child giggles in his arms, kicking weakly at him. Johnny only stops when you settle next to him, settling the boy on one arm, and lighting the five candles with his index finger.
“See? Still got it?” He whispers on your ear, making you chuckle, his free arm wrapping around your waist as you all sing happy birthday to the little bug.
Note: Not beta read. Idk wtf I was doing but have this 👐🏻 tagged things because of platonic or family based relationships.

the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be apart of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.
Mark Lee, the newest Gryffindor prefect, patrolled Hogwarts past curfew to find you baking in the kitchen. As much as he would like to deduct house points and escort you back to your dorms, he can't help but notice how breathtaking you are in the warm light of the fireplace.
𓆘 𓆚𓆚𓆚𓆚𓆚 𓆘 𓆚𓆚𓆚𓆚𓆚 𓆘 𓆚𓆚𓆚𓆚𓆚 𓆘 𓆚𓆚𓆚𓆚𓆚 𓆘
Mark has never been one to break the rules. He was punctual, hardworking, and so damn responsible that it came to noone's surprise he was chosen to be the Gryffindor prefect in his fifth year and was actually really good at his job.
While he was initially only scheduled to patrol the towers every other day, he was recently assigned to the dungeons and kitchens since Yuta, a 6th year Slytherin prefect, had been suspended by Professor Sprout until he can pull his grades up.
On his first night doing Yuta's patrol, he heard a clattering of pots in the kitchen. Knowing fully well that house elves should have finished their work by that time, he braced himself in preparation to confront students who were out passed curfew.
What he didn't expect to see when he opened the door was you whisking away something in a bowl with a few house elves beside you doing the same. While he can only see you from the side, the way the warm light from the fireplace hit your face made you look like the most breathtaking being he has ever seen.
"Yuta, you're right on time! I think this is my best batter yet!" You exclaimed with glee without looking back to the door. You knew it can only be Yuta to come in since he always came at this time to hang out with you.
"Uh... I'm not... I'm not Yuta." Mark uttered.
You whipped your head to check who was by the door. You can see on the stranger's robes that he also has pin to indicate he is a prefect.
"Oh, was he recently reassigned?" You pouted.
Though he has only met you a few minutes ago, seeing you frown somehow already made his heart ache.
"I'm sorry to say he was suspended from his prefect duties until further notice."
"Oh." You passed the bowl to the house elf beside you as you walked to him.
"Well, if it's alright with you, I'd like to finish baking the last batch of these cookies before I head back to the dungeons?"
He knew he shouldn't oblige, that he should deduct house points and send you immediately back to your dorm, but the way you looked at him with so much hope made him give in. He sighed. "Okay. Just this once."
When he saw your face light up with delight, he knew your smile was worth breaking a few rules.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" You squeeled as you ran the last few steps towards him and held his hands in yours.
"You won't regret this. Come, we still have to roll the dough out and bake them!"
He had no choice to follow you as he tried to contain the blush that appeared on his cheeks all the way down to his neck.
You both fell in a surprisingly good rhythm of baking cookies and cleaning dishes with bouts of small talk here and there. When the last of the cookies were packaged, you thanked the house elves and walked out of the kitchen with Mark. You shyly handed him one of the cookie packages. "Thank you again for letting me finish the cookies. I... I don't always have trouble sleeping but, when I do, I found baking to be quite helpful. Yuta has been great company but... it was nice to have met you too."
Mark smiled at that. "It was nice to met you as well and if ever Yuta's suspension doesn't let up anytime soon... it would be my pleasure to accompany you."
"I'd like that."
Mark has only met you a few times since that incident but the butterflies in his stomach have only gotten stronger and stronger after every night with you. Since the Hogsmeade trip was coming up soon, he thought it would be the perfect time to spend a moment with you out of the confines of the kitchen after curfew. However, he can never seem to bump into you during the day since he's a year older and you have different time schedules. When he does see you, it's during meal times in which you either stay with your friends from the same year or with Yuta and his group. Curious, he asked his best friend, Haechan, if he knows anything about you and Yuta given that you're in the same house.
Haechan's eyes widened at his question. "Oh, her!? You do not want to even breathe in her direction when Yuta is around."
That just raised even more questions for him. "What do you mean exactly? Are... are they dating? "
"While that rumor hasn't been confirmed, any man who has tried to approach her romantically has been jinxed, hexed, and/or cursed by Yuta and that alone speaks volumes."
Mark's face must have shown exactly what he was feeling because Haechan sighed and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Ah, Mark. The only girl you have ever shown interest in just had to be her. I can't say I blame you since she's practically Slytherin royalty; but trust me when I say Yuta is not considered the King of Charms for nothing."
"Yeah. I know, I know." Mark said in defeat.
While Mark was too honorable to even think of meddling between you and Yuta, he cherished those nights spent with you in the kitchen. However, as you and Mark baked and packaged the last batch of brownies for the night, it seemed like all good things must come to an end.
You handed him a package of brownies by the door. It has become your tradition before you each say your goodbyes. "So... Yuta just told me his suspension would be lifted starting tomorrow."
Mark faltered. "Oh? I had no clue. I... I guess congratulations are in order then."
"Yes. I'm quite proud of him. Herbology was never his strong suit only because he hates getting dirty." You chuckled. You paused for a few beats before you continued, "He said he missed accompanying me to these baking nights but I've rather grown fond of my new company."
Mark only felt bittersweet. He wanted to tell you everything — how he has enjoyed every moment spent with you, how he wanted to continue seeing you even after this, how he never felt like this for anyone before, and how he we was in love with you. Alas, he knew you would never leave Yuta's side for someone like him, so he kept his confession to himself. "Well, it was a pleasure to have baked with you while he was away." After a few moments, he added in a whisper, "So, this is goodbye then?"
You looked down on the floor as you played with your sweater. While you weren't expecting your feelings to be returned, you had hoped that he would at least want to continue the friendship you have built. "Yes, I... I believe so. Goodbye, Mark Lee."
"Goodbye to you too."
Mark woke up with a heavy feeling in his chest the next day and the days after that. He barely paid attention to any of his classes that week since he was still hopelessly pining on a certain Slytherin. Though he would have loved nothing more to see you again, he decided it would be best to avoid you at all costs to provide a clean break.
Just when he thought things could not get any worse, Yuta decided to accost him as he was trudging back to the dorm after lunch.
Yuta growled at Mark as he slammed him against the wall. "Give me one reason I shouldn't curse you into oblivion for what you have done to her."
Mark had no clue what he was on about since he hasn't seen you for over a week. "I- I don't know what you are talking about, Yuta. I haven't done anything to her at all."
Yuta took out his wand from his pocket and pointed it at Mark's neck in a flash. "Don't play dumb with me, you bastard. I only allowed you to continue your little rendezvous with her in the kitchens because if the great Mark Lee decided to finally break a few rules for her, then that must mean something, right? If that wasn't enough to convince me, then seeing the way you look at her in the Great Hall like she hung up the moon would have been more than enough evidence you were serious about her; come for me to find out you ceased all communication with her since last week. Was it because she wasn't anymore convenient for you? Because you think she's not worth your effort? Because you think she's not worth your time—"
"No, no, no! I'll never think that way about her. She's worth all the magic in the world if it means I get to spend even one more moment with her." Mark couldn't bear to hear what else Yuta was about to say. He was confused to say the least. Haechan more or less confirmed that you and Yuta were in a relationship. So why would Yuta even allow you to see someone else other than him?
"Then. Why. Did. You. Stop. Talking. To. Her." Yuta was already losing his patience.
"I- I didn't want to meddle in your relationship! I may be in love with her but I would never wreck her relationship with you for my benefit."
Yuta was taken aback. Surely, he couldn't be that idiotic? "What the bloody hell are you talking about, Lee?"
Mark sighed. "I love her, Yuta. I don't think I'd feel this way about anyone ever again but I would never come in between an established relationship. The guilt will eat me up."
Out of all the things Mark expected Yuta to do, maniacally laughing was not one of them. "You think I'm dating her? Ah, Mark Lee! I became fully convinced you were a bastard that I didn't even think you could have just been a bloody idiot!"
Mark just stared at him with confusion. "I don't quite follow."
"I have no idea how you got that conclusion but let me spell it out for you, Lee. I will never ever date her because... she's my half-sister."
A whole array of emotions skittered across Mark's face — shock, understanding, hope, then dread. He paled. "I believe I have made a terrible mistake."
Yuta can't help but snort. "That you did, idiot."
"I need to find her."
"She's at the courtyard now with her friends."
Mark didn't even let him finish his sentence before he took off.
"Oh. And Mark?" Yuta called. Mark stopped in his tracks to look back. "Hurt her like that again and I won't be so forgiving."
Mark nodded. "I won't be so forgiving to myself too."
Fate was on Mark's side as he found you exactly where Yuta said you would be. He didn't even try to slow down and school his features as he approached you.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry... Yuta just... Yuta just talked to me... Please allow... allow me to explain." He panted.
You internally sighed. Of course Yuta would be his overprotective self. You wordlessly excused yourself from your friends and let him walk with you aimlessly around Hogwarts.
After a few minutes of allowing him to compose himself, you stopped by the bridge and leaned your back on the railings. "Well, go on."
Mark took a deep breath. It was now or never. "I wanted to apologize for the way I acted after that night. I need you to know it wasn't, and will never be, my intention to hurt you. You see, ever since I caught you on my first round of Yuta's patrol duty, I have only fallen harder and harder for you. You are the only one who can make my heart both soar with happiness yet ache with longing anytime if I so much as think of you during the day. I would have never thought in all of eternity that you would feel even remotely the same way I felt about you; but every time you direct one of your kilowatt smiles to me, let your soft touches linger on my skin, or look at me like I'm the most interesting person in the world, I couldn't help but hope that maybe I did have a chance to be by your side. However, I never acted upon my feelings, respectfully kept a distance, and even said my goodbyes because I foolishly thought you were dating Yuta and wanted nothing more to do with me. I know now how utterly wrong I was after he confronted me just a few moments ago. While I don't expect you to forgive me anytime soon, I beg of you to at least allow me to make it up to you until you have; and once you have forgiven me, I'd like to properly court you until you find me worthy enough to stand by your side."
You allowed the silence to blanket the two of you as you take his words into heart. After a few minutes of stirring with what he said, you let your actions take control as you knew words wouldn't be enough to express how you felt. You slowly took the last few steps towards him and caressed his cheek. He instinctively closed his eyes and leaned into your touch. You placed your fingers to the back of his neck and guided him forward. Before he knew it, you gently placed your lips on his. He only froze for a moment before he quickly recovered to place his arms around your waist and deepen the kiss. It was slow and languid and oh, so perfect with the both of you knowing it was only the first of many.
You pulled back just enough to let your words breathe unto his lips. "You can start making it up to me by taking me to Hogsmeade this weekend if you'd like."
You felt the ghost of his smile on your lips. "Anything for you, my love."
