Heya! I'm Jinx! I'm a nerdy autistic furry who watched season 13 of Ninjago and ended up obsessed with Dungeons & Dragons so I decided to make a blog about it.

All of my D&D characters I've made have been anthro adjacent (tabaxi, harefolk, kobolds, etc) because I don't get enjoyment out of drawing humans/humanoid characters (like elves, half-elves, halflings, etc). I tried to make a half-elf OC the other day and it only resulted in suffering lmao. Basically I am exclusively a furry artist and that shows through in the races I choose for my D&D characters.

I haven't played D&D yet, but I really want to. I plan to discuss it with some friends who do play D&D.

Expect shitposts, analysis, and other miscellaneous garbage from me because there will be plenty of it ;)

Personal tags:

#jinxed chatter - miscellaneous chatter. I'll use this for anything I want basically lol.

#jinxed d&d fanart - any fanart of other characters. Doesn't matter who owns the characters, if I like the character and I want to draw the character, do, and draw them, the art posted will use this tag.

#jinxed analysis - any analysis I decide to do related to the D&D multiverse and/or official D&D content. An example of this would be the analysis I did of bard magic over on @jinxedshapeshifter regarding Edgin from Honor Among Thieves.

#jinxed overanalysis - the same as the previous tag, but a step further where you wonder if I'm doing okay mentally (I'm not).

#jinx's d&d ocs - anything I post about my D&D specific OCs, their lore, or anything else related to them.

#jinxed d&d art - in the same vein as #jinxed d&d fanart but less specific to fanart. Any art I do of my own OCs would fall under this tag instead of #jinxed d&d fanart.

#jinx's campaign stories - when and if I start actually playing D&D, this will be the tag I use to share stories from sessions and campaigns.

Misc. notes:

Please don't randomly invite me to join a campaign! I'd rather already know/get to know a potential DM before joining a campaign they're running, something I'm currently working on a workaround for (this workaround will be announced once it's finished, but I wanted to figure out a way for people who, like me, have bad social anxiety to find other people to play D&D with, so I plan to make it publicly available).

I make D&D characters for fun as well as characters I plan to play in campaigns (for example, the tabaxi I'm using as my icon is a character I want to use in a campaign; my other tabaxi is a character I don't plan to use in any campaigns). I find the challenge and in-depthness required that comes with fully fleshing out a D&D character more fun than regular OCs, so not all of my characters are ones I have an intention to use in campaigns. Basically, I'm more of a fan of the D&D multiverse than anything else pertaining to D&D and find character creation fun so while some of my D&D characters are made with the intention of using them in campaigns, others are made for fun.

I won't tolerate any harassment or bullying, whether it's targeted at me or not. I use the block button liberally. If you want to correct me on something I may have gotten wrong (no matter what it's specifically about), please be gentle about it. I'm prone to taking things poorly.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned in the Xenk propaganda that his autistic rizz is so strong that he rizzed the party's bard out of hating Thayans and got said bard to seemingly develop some sort of crush on him that I vividly remember being told was on Chris Pine and Regé-Jean Page and not the writers (Regé-Jean Page was also specifically chosen to play Xenk because he's attractive. Allegedly)

I don't know if I've talked about this before but this scene is great.

Ed goes from "LOOK WE GOT IT" to "wait Xenk's looking at me" in two seconds flat.

Simon looks incredibly annoyed that he was told to hold onto the helmet, despite being the logical option because he has the group's Bag of Holding.

Xenk doesn't even seem bothered that Ed was excited to have the helmet like it seems Ed thought he was.

THE ACTING?? Aside from all three of them having to do this WITHOUT LAUGHING (which had to have been a fucking NIGHTMARE for Justice Smith if D&D HAT's blooper reel is anything to go off of) the fact that 1, Chris Pine so quickly switched from "we got it :D" to "dark and mysterious guy looking to impress the paladin he just met and definitely doesn't have a crush on" and 2, Regé-Jean Page can just Do That is so impressive?? Is Chris Pine just attracted to Regé-Jean Page so it wasn't even acting 😭

Got the idea of a band of kenku bards that call themselves Quoth the Raven and now I want to play in a D&D campaign where it’s literally just battle of the bands. The entire party is bards (choose the band name at the start of the game) and all the enemies are bands of fellow bards (Yes I’m a theater kid who was also in choir and band why do you ask)

Maybe there’s a werewolf band called Full Moon Serenade lol

i want to do an astarion animation thats a minute and a half but thought it'd be better to do a shorter one for practice first. i thought this dialogue would be fun to animate.

also fun fact about the species choices: i'm messing with a new way of stylizing d&d characters since i absolutely hate drawing humans. i'll go more in depth with it later but basically with this stylization, elves are felines (and high elves specifically are lynxes). the rabbit/hare at the end is a halfling! i'll probably make a post sharing the rest of these stylizations later.

this is gonna be fully animated (hopefully) by the time i'm done with it. but i have to go to the mall so i will continue work on it later :P

So I randomly remembered that since elves live for so long, they go by child names for a long while (until they're 110, which is when they're usually considered adults [although this very much depends on the subrace], or declare themselves an adult according to the Player's Handbook). They physically mature at a similar rate to humans, but culturally (and maybe psychologically? idk is there canon explanation for elves' mental development) they're not adults until they're 110.

Genuinely this just makes my heart break even more for Astarion. He's specified to be a high elf, and high elves are specifically clarified to not be considered adults until they turn 110 because their maturation starts at the same pace as humans and slows to a near stop once they hit adolescence (which starts around 10-13 in humans). Astarion never hit 110. By Elvish standards he's still, culturally, considered a child, which makes the shit Cazador did to him even worse (especially because Cazador is also an elf so he absolutely knew what he was doing by turning a 39 year old fellow elf). Cazador did all that to someone who, by both his and Astarion's cultural standards, wasn't even an adult yet. I am also quite sure that since Astarion was physically mature at the time of being turned, he either voluntarily or was forced to change his name (personally I think it's more likely that he voluntarily changed it at some point before being turned by Cazador) but I am pretty sure that a 39 year old high elf looks significantly younger than a 110 year old high elf despite the slower rate of maturation.

Like he looks young compared to other elves. He looks younger than Halsin (and he is, even chronologically, as Astarion is 239 during the game and Halsin is 350, but my point still stands; the age difference is clear). Even the Tav elves look older than him, at least to me. He was turned into a vampire incredibly young by Elvish standards and it's heartbreaking.

The reason his behavior, as so many people have described it, is reminiscent of a teenager is because he was turned when he technically was a teenager. The age at which he was turned and his subsequent slavery didn't give him the opportunity to fully develop into an adult, so it makes sense that his behavior would line up with that.

larian please let me ask him if i can give him a hug during any and all conversation. i havent played baldur's gate 3 yet because my laptop would probably pull a gale but i want to hug astarion so fucking bad
