prayers are great but here are organisations you can support and donate to after the explosion in beirut, lebanon. as of right now august 4th 2020, 54 bodies have been recovered and thousands are injured, and entire neighbourhoods including hospitals have been destroyed. we’re already in an economic crisis and famine on top of covid and our government, as usual, has done and is doing nothing to help us, much less the refugees. we still don’t know what or who set off the explosion. we have 1.5 million syrian refugees and 300k palestinian refugees who also need help.

edit: there is a post circulating saying that donating to lebanese charities is kind of useless atm bc the value of currency has dropped immensely so. idk i think its still important to donate to these ngos bc they provide long term direct help to ppl (food, shelter, education etc) and not through the government but the post did make valid points and i will try to find other funds as well!
