People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God; It was never between you and them anyway.
If you believe He loves you like the bible says He loves you, you’ll run to Him. You’ll run to Him, you won’t run from Him. I promise. It’s those who don’t understand the gospel who run from God to clean themselves up.
Matt Chandler, “Grace through the Eyes of the Father" (via littlethingsaboutgod)
We cannot simply do whatever we want and stick on God's name on there. We are either on His side, or the world's side. Christ-following discards the prosperity gospel we all claim to not follow, but we still follow it anyways
If we ever think we've had enough of Christ and hearing His Word, we are no more progressing in our sanctification, but rather, our hopeless entry to the closed gate of the eternal.
Start being uncomfortable with your faith. It won't be long until Christ exposes you for who you are as we continue to pat ourselves on the back for doing "good" in Christianity.
When I look back at my freshmen year, I cannot help but feel so disappointed. What I planned for my freshmen year was just get involved in a campus ministry, have a lot of fun eating out with people, get an internship, and honestly feel as though I belonged.
But none of that really happened. Instead, I found myself being alone most of the time with just a few friends, getting rejected by 3 0 different companies, have a fight with the administration, lost hope in my previous friends, find myself failing, and be nearly consumed with thoughts of suicide and depression.. Not to mention coming back to a family when it feels like all I do is chores and doesn't feel like Im wanted back home as I feel as though im just a useful person but not worth to love. That theme was so consistent during my freshmen year as I just saw that the brothers and sisters that I was supposed to rely on only wanted to have fun and not take issues of prayer and worship into heart. Not only that, but feeling friendzoned all the time and my heart being so burdened whenever I come back home. I can barely hold myself up and and I have no choice but to be there for other people.
But still, I move on towards the gospel, for what is truly the reward. The eternal day of rest when all tears of mine are shed away, cleansed, with knees on the ground. I just pray it gets better
Did you know that God wants you to live in Him? He wants to be your source of life. He wants you to abide in Him and rely on Him for everything. He wants to be your source for strength, provision, hope and joy. Like the air you breathe, He wants you to rely on Him for your very existence.
Abiding in God begins by meditating on Him, His Word and His goodness. You stop and think about Him when you go to sleep at night. You think about Him when you first wake up. You think about His promises all throughout the day and continually fellowship with Him in prayer. You make Him your number one priority and stay connected with other believers at church. Notice what this verse says will happen when you abide in Him - you will produce much fruit! When you are connected to God, everything you set your hand to will be fruitful and blessed. Just like a branch thrives when it is connected to the vine, you’re going to thrive and be prosperous when you are connected to Almighty God.
Depend on Him today and make Him your number one priority. Abide in Him and let Him pour out His abundant favor and blessing on you all the days of your life.
“Set your minds and keep them set on what is above, the higher things, not on the things that are on earth” (Colossians 3:2).
Faith is simply seeing what God sees. It’s choosing God’s way, even when things look differently in the natural. When you set your thoughts on higher things, you are looking at life through your eyes of faith and seeing what God sees.
For example, you may have a financial need today, but when you look higher, you see God’s promise to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory. You may have sickness in your body today, but when you look higher, you see that Jesus paid for your sickness and diseases. You may feel lonely today, but when you look higher, you see that God has promised to never leave you nor forsake you.
As you study the Word of God, you are setting your thoughts on higher things. As you set your thoughts on higher things, your faith will become stronger, and you will begin to see those things become reality in your life. You’ll see God’s hand of blessing, and you will live the abundant life He has prepared for you.
