To be honest, I think anyone who is sane and does not buy into abuse and assault as being ok would prefer Elementary over BBC at this point.

And I’m saying this as someone who never really liked Elementary (I think it drifts too far from the books) was a HUGE Sherlock Holmes fan and MAJORLY into Beeb’s Sherlock (I now can’t stomach it and have gone to Granada as a balm). 

Elementary is immeasurably better then what BBC turned out to be.

Do people who are against a female Watson realize they could argue for a female Sherlock without shoving female Watson under the bus

A female Watson is not bad. A Chinese American female Watson is not bad, or homophobic. The ACD canon still exists. So many adaptations with two male Holmes and Watson still exist. If you want to argue against homophobia in media, how about you actually address…homophobia…in media… instead of shitting on female characters who are still playing lead roles in media and are more than just sidekicks kthx
