Vice President, Technology
RESPONSIBILITIES
Vision and strategy:
Develop a compelling business vision and strategy for the Information Technology function that encompasses research and development as well as the effective functioning of day-to-day operations for all business lines of the company.
Act as a technology expert, strategic advisor to the executive team and make executive decisions regarding the technology requirements of the business.
Establish the objectives and plan for the
research and development component of
the IT function.
Maintain a wide range of relationships with innovative and emerging technology companies to stay on top of upcoming trends.
Operations
Owns deliveries and improvements in
practice, process, governance, etc. Define and evaluato now technologies
to improve development processes and quality control of products and services developed by the team.
Implement and track performance indicators and budgets to ensure metrics are met.
Manage the resources required to complete projects (HR and administrative responsibilities, work planning, implementation of tools and processes).
Conduct rigorous follow-up throughout the project to eliminate any blockers and ensure the project is on track for completion.
Ensure effective management of deliverables and manage stakeholder expectations.
Seize opportunities to standardize, consolidate and reduce operating costs while maintaining a high quality of service. Execute and continuously improve
intra-team processes (sprint planning,
scrums, etc.)
Management:
. Attract, retain and develop talent to build a high-performing organization that delivers high quality products.
Create and maintain relationships with industry technology partners.
Work closely with management to establish future vision, priorities and technology solutions.
Develop productive and engaged teams,
fostering personal and technical skill
development and collaboration.
Provide an engaging environment and culture for employees in his group to maximize retention and attract talent.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience managing a large technical team; University degree in information
technology:
Understanding of the digital world - web
solutions;
Experience in a communications agency (an asset);
Strong experience as a member of an
executive committee;
