I’m almost scared to do this after being MIA for so long.  But go ahead and “like” for a starter! I’d love to have a few threads going at this point, especially medium/longer ones if you’re up for it!  As always, hit me up if you want a specific prompt - or if you just want to plot! I’m excited to be back and able to rp again! It’s good for me.

Jocelyn tossed her suitcase into the backseat and checked her watch with a glance that was only mildly impatient. “C’mon Len!” She still had a pink flush of excitement in her cheeks. The tin cans had been pulled from the rear of the car and hastily stuffed in the trunk, the “Just Married” sign pulled from the bumper and shoved in as well. 

Their suitcases had been left inside the front door, and they were ready to go as soon as the reception had ended. Jocelyn had shed the dress at record speed so she waited impatiently for Leonard, leaning against the hood of the car, staring at the late evening sky with a dreamy look in her eyes. She swung the car keys around one finger, enjoying the peace and quiet after the long day. 

Just as she was starting to wonder if Leonard had accidentally strangled himself with his bowtie, she heard footsteps behind her. 

“You told me I could drive!” She reminded him gleefully.

Boy howdy! He could practically hear his heart thudding in his ears. Beautiful! Simply beautiful. She’d taken out his people like no one else could. ‘Course, if they couldn’t protect the heart of the ship, what was the use in having them? Really, Joce was doing them all a favor.

She tired pulling another fast one, making for his stash of toys, but she’d made a fatal error. McCoy still had a firm hold on her hand. He let her reach arm’s length before spinning her back. She twirled so beautifully after all, her hair flying out like little tendrils of flame. That gave him an idea for the next ‘session’ the Captain ordered…

“You just couldn’t stay away, could you darlin’?” He said as she came to a stop in his arms.

Jocelyn laughed, and it was a light laugh that danced in her eyes as well as on her lips. This wasn’t the sort of laughter one expected of a woman who had just killed several men. But she also wasn’t the sort of woman most people expected. 

Leonard McCoy was an exception of course. That was the only reason he was allowed to hold her and keep both is hands. It was also the reason that he was so damn good at catching her. 

Spinning into his arms she made a token struggle, but didn’t really try much harder than necessary for appearances. “Stay away?” She grinned up at him. “I count the days, darling.”

OOC: Hello! I’m here! I am not dead! I just got consumed by school/grad school applications/funerals/and hospital stays! I am SO sorry! Real life has been a bit strange/sad/traumatic/overwhelming/and wonderful as of late. 

Y’all, my activity level is going to have to have to change drastically.  I’ll be sending messages to a handful of y’all, and I encourage you to message me. I want to stay in touch, and continue rping. But I ask that you have patience with me as I transition into my senior year of undergrad. 

I am shocked and amazed to discover that I have new followers (somehow?) after multiple weeks of inactivity. I am delighted to see y’all, and please believe me when I say that I do want to rp with you! Please do send me a message as well! 

A friendly reminder that my Skype is always open to mutuals, and that it’s a handy way to stay in touch with me.

“Don’t touch me!”

“I don’t get you, Jocelyn. You haven’t tried to kill me once, but when I pull out my knife, and suddenly you’re angry.”

“Darling.” Jocelyn’s voice had returned to its usual calm tone now that she was out of arm’s reach. She seated herself behind his desk, leaning back in the chair. “You don’t have to get me.” She placed her feet on the desk, folding her hands delicately. “You just have to understand that I’m messing with you.”

Raising both his brows, Pavel’s forehead crinkled in worry as the woman mentioned Joanna. He’d heard of the girl once or twice, mostly from the Captain, just enough pieces of the story to know she was the daughter of McCoy and Jocelyn. She was about his age, too, if he had heard right. Having been separated from his family at such a young age, though Pavel had made the willing choice to do so, he could imagine what Joanna must have been going through without her parents. “Thank you, ma'am,” he murmured, voice soft, before he was shaking his head. “Maybe I can meet her someday, da?”

He was a good kid, that much was evident simply from the way he responded so kindly to her little burst of emotion. Maybe it was his kindness that reminded her so much of Joanna.  Jocelyn suddenly felt very, very, old. She couldn’t imagine her daughter on the Enterprise, yet that’s exactly where she knew she wanted to be. It turned her stomach to think of such things, and she wasn’t even sure why.  “That would be lovely.” Jocelyn nodded and smiled. “I think you two would get along swimmingly. She would ask you more questions about Russia than I can even think of.” She laughed slightly, Jo had more questions in general than Jocelyn could even begin to comprehend.

  Everything was going swimmingly. McCoy was on cloud nine. He could just about float! Here she was: the love of his life, threatening murder and mayhem all in one breath. Gracious, she was stunning!

He saw the glint of her knife and was suddenly very grateful for all those swing dancing lessons. In one quick move, he grabbed her wrist and spun her into a dramatic dip. Ha! How was that for flare?

“Oh, sweetheart, I’ve missed you too. But…” He shook his head and gave her a disapproving click of his tongue. “Didn’t any of those yahoos out there warn you about tangoing with me?”

Jocelyn smiled at him, enamored. The knife fell from her fingertips and clattered to the floor. She had at least six more secreted on her person, seven if she had worn her favorite pair of pants. 

She smiled as he shook his head, and she shrugged slightly, leaning into the dip cooperatively. “None of them had time to speak, darling.” She stood back up, happy to find herself in his arms. “I’m afraid they hit the floor a little too quickly.” 

She paused for a moment, simply letting herself enjoy being held, smiling at him with a mixture of love and manic joy. Then she attempted to twist his arm violently as she ducked underneath his grasp and lunged for his tray of instruments. Jocelyn was fairly certain she wouldn’t be quick enough, but she wasn’t about to go down without a fight. To do otherwise would simply be disappointing for the both of them.

His lips thinned in borderline annoyance when she shoved the screen at him, but he took it with curiosity. What could have Jocelyn so panicked? What was important enough for her eyes to gleam with worry, and not anger from all of their fighting? Leonard raised both eyebrows at her words, looking down at the screen to see what all the fuss was about…

His stomach plummeted so quickly that he was momentarily afraid it would tear his diaphragm. No. No. No. It couldn’t be. Could it? Maybe it could. He couldn’t think. He couldn’t breathe. 

“Joss, you… you read it right,” he croaked out, trying to hand her the screen back, suddenly not wanting to be touching it anymore. “I think… I think I’m gonna be sick…”

Jocelyn shut her eyes, not sure she could look at him, and not sure where else she would look. She took a deep breath, setting the screen on the table, and steadying herself with her now free hand. 

A choking laugh made it past her lips. “You’re going to be sick?” She laughed again, this time louder, her eyes opening and settling on him. “I think I’m supposed to be the one with morning sickness.” It’s not funny, but she’s laughing anyway. It’s easier to laugh than to deal with the confusion, excitement, and panic all boiling inside of her. 

The laughter subsided as panic won out over the other emotions. “Leonard?” She took a deep breath, “Leonard, I’m pregnant.” Saying it aloud added some sort of finality, some sort of reality to a very surreal situation.

Alright then.  He’s not daunted by her choice to stand so close, but he’s certainly relieved by the step backwards she takes; at least she’s not completely overstepping her boundaries.  “I wasn’t making a suggestion, Ambassador.” His own position doesn’t change.  If anything, hidden hands are gripping his arms, the fabric of his shirt as if physically repressing the tension, the frustration & irritation bubbling beneath a mask of professionalism.

“If you’re referring to the incident that occurred planet-side then know a report of the accident has been filed, medical attention administered to those involved, & any other pertinent information will be released & dictated to the crew if need be. These things happen, the risk of a c c i d e n t is one we all take because it is our JOB to do so.  As commanding officer of this vessel, I ask for you to remember not only that, but your place.”

He’s the picture of civility and somehow all it does is cause the anger in her chest to burn all the hotter. Somehow she’s equally courteous despite  the feeling that she’s being eaten alive by her own emotions as she stares down her captain. Jocelyn takes her hands off of her hips and crosses her arms in a slow and deliberate mirroring of his actions. 

“I wasn’t willing to compromise, Captain.” She’s toeing the line, and well aware of it. She has yet to cross the invisible line, but she’s close and knows it. This isn’t so much insubordination as it is careful antagonization. “I am well aware of my place, Sir, and as such...” She pauses. “As Leonard’s ex-wife, and as someone who knows you, I am simply inquiring as to what the hell you were thinking?” She’s crossed the line, but she doesn’t care anymore.

I’m back out of the hospital, back on campus, and today I found out that I got a job as a writing tutor for my college! Tuesday has been busy, but kind to me. Going to do replies and homework. I’ve missed you all.

OOC: Hey y’all. This is a quick check in to say that I’m alright. I’m still alive. I ended up back in the hospital. Auto-immune disease fun. I promise I still want to rp with all of you. I love all of you. I’ll be back as soon as I’m strong enough/healthy enough.
