Hard at work grafting to try and turn this concept sketch into a sectional beauty! And the following development of the cross sectional study.

Today's procrastination consisted of designing and producing 160 origami tickets for the PADS Summer Ball.

Since each student is provided with the autonomy to express their own sense of self, they feel a comfortable sense of belonging in their environment to engage in an ongoing dialogue not only with each other, but also with tutors alike. By “discussing their own lives and experiences, their own fears and aspirations”, students are therefore exposed to a multitude of varying breeds of interest and working methodologies; something that keeps things interesting and offers different angles and inspiration upon the work. Subsequently, students begin “to assume responsibility, individually and collectively, to make their study as exciting and meaningful as they can for themselves”.

'Self Inspired Architecture'

Year 2; History and Theory; “Contextual Writing”

On the basis that architecture, as an exploratory field, can become an extremely intimate and personal reflection of oneself, this paper intends to investigate, how through today’s higher educational model, culture and identity can be translated into a unique, overarching architectural disposition. It explores the power and phenomenology surrounding imagination and experiential backgrounds and their unique influence upon individuals and their architectural studies.

Even an experience is not, and never is, perceived in its completeness, it cannot be grasped adequately in its full unity. It is essentially something that flows, starting from the present moment we can swim after it, our gaze reflectively turned towards it, whilst the stretches we leave in our wake are lost to our perception.

That which had existed objectively but had not been perceived in its deeper implications begins to “stand out,” assuming the character of a problem and therefore of challenge.
