TESP [Daily Protest] #1 against the alien-demon horde that possess me.
Hey insane-heads how's it going? I'm doing pretty swell, thanks for that. And why pray tell might that be? Well, because I've gotten a sense of reign of control in regards to the alien-demons that posses me. They're still there, and for some reason I don't think they're ever going to go away. So instead what I'm doing to do is protest their existence and presence in my life. So let's begin!
What exactly am I protesting though and how am I planning on accomplishing it? I intend on doing this by exposing what they've done to me, what I've been doing in response, and my varying degrees of successes and failures. Believe or not, I finally figured out that the alien-demons that possess me are actually intelligent beings! It doesn't matter if they're real voices or hallucinations anymore, because the fact of the matters is they're intelligent. And I've actually been able to notice a cause and effect in how they respond accordingly to certain scenarios and in other ways that only an intelligent being would be capable of. I'll give you an example.
There was something that really set me off one night with the alien-demon voices, that I wasn't getting any peace or alone time. So I took out one of my mechanical counters and I started clicking it repeatedly in an intense manner to generate a barraging torrent of white noise. This was actually enough to shut them up! So I kept doing it.
I kept clicking and clicking and clicking pretty much indefinitely for hours. I probably got over 9999 clicks (which is the max of this kind of counter), I think it was honestly closer to 15,000 clicks or even higher. Because since I have really fast APM (400 counts per minute on a digital counter, I can do similar on a physical one) that the sound this generates is INCREDIBLY obnoxious. You would go insane if you had to hear this sound repeatedly over and over and over again longer than a few minutes.
CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK-
On and on and on. Hours of this. And boy let me tell you, did it make an impression on the alien-demons. Not only did they shut up that night, but they shut up many of the nights afterwards as well! Oh, yeah. Also? Now whenever I go to my mechanical counter and start clicking in the same manner as I did previously, y'know just to show them off? I can tell they've been permanently traumatized from that night and as they immediately panic in response to the sound of the clicking and the mere notion that I'd put them through 'Joel clicking-torture' again.
It didn't last forever though, and I've since had to change my tactics as a result. That's typically how it goes though, but the strategy remains the same. What you do is find patterns within how these alien-demons treat you and adjust how you respond accordingly. This is an ongoing endeavor though. One tactic will work for a while, then you have to come up with a new one. Me personally, I've actually got pretty control over the alien-demons right now, because as it is they're pretty terrified to say anything with how I've been treating them lately.
As for how I feel about this alleged success of mine? Well, it might not make sense to you all now, but I'm going to start using the game I'm designing to help express my perspective of these particular scenarios. So don't necessarily need to worry about how it works just yet, because if you are interested just let me know! And I'll explain how it works. But anyway without further ado, here we go! This JoelB's perspective on my recent accomplishment related to this post:
'Questionably Justifiable Protest':(Truth /12|Righteous +11; Happiness 12|Delightful v9; Disgust v12|Angry ∞*12)
So that's what I've got for this one. I hope this may have helped enlighten you more than you already are. You all have my best regards, and until then. Have a good one insane-heads!
