I'm so normal about this
Barda Free/Scott Free vs Clark Kent/Lois Lane
Barda Free/Scott Free
Clark Kent/Lois Lane
IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is part of the semi-final round. Of the three ships that win this round, the ship that wins by the smallest margin will automatically be placed in third and will not be able to compete in the finals for first or second place.
Concept: Guy knows a bunch about very specific topics because some of his students were autistic and he'd let them infodump about their interests and he wanted to be able to keep up with them so now he has, like, really specific knowledge. Hes also subscribed to like 12 different newsletters to keep up with various videogames or medias long after moving on from being a teacher. This circles back eventually when Kyle joins and wants to tell him about animes.
PLEASE GOD LET ADS AND BOTH ADRIANS BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF THE NAZIS NEXT EPISODE 🙏🙏 that's all I'm asking for
They're so ( ⌒‿⌒ ) and (◡︵◡)
we have to make more women suffer in fiction but crucially not in a man pain way. we have to let women suffer in fiction the way men are always allowed to suffer in fiction. we need women who grieve their male love interests always dying horribly at the hands of the villain of the week the way male action heroes always do. we need women who suffer in ways other than "dying in childbirth" and "abusive male relative". we need women with interiority and depth of character having the worst time of their fucking lives.
This.
I need to stop saying "I support murder" about theoretical ethical debates and start putting my beliefs in practice
I just found out today that the Starfire NSFW subreddit has 70k MEMBERS, while r/Starfire only had 7k.
Thinking about Victor and Kori's friendship again.
guys, you don't understand I'm not normal about this relationship.
They love each other so much and understand each other so well. Even when they don't agree on something, they still manage to understand each other (I'm thinking about how in Blue Beetle: Graduation Day they weren't agreeing on what action to take, Victor wanted to attack and Kori wanted to let Jaime talk to Horizonte, but even so Victor stopped to listen to Kori's point of view and try to understand what she was thinking)
They've found a perfect balance between their similarities and differences and their relationship involves such deep trust and so much love on both side
(I'm thinking about how Victor said he would do anything for her; I'm thinking about how Kori said she would always protect Victor; I'm thinking about how he was the first to give her a cute nickname here on earth; I'm thinking about the way Kori always cares about his well-being; I'm thinking about the way Victor encouraged and supported her when she was unsure whether to join the Justice League; I'm thinking about how Kori always saw Victor as someone wonderful even when he saw himself as a monster; I'm thinking about how they've both risked their lives thousands of times to protect each other)
why did we ever get rid of letter columns
comics are pointless without these
>don't post about ship in years >post this without any context >disapears forever again
I’ve been reading the old Teen Titans books, and I lowkey think I get Dickory now. It’s probably the closest I’ve gotten to “shipping” anything, though I’m still not really invested from a romantic angle. Romance isn’t my vibe.
I’ve said before how I kind of despise the sarcastic and aloof or cold and jaded hero tropes that have become so popular. I enjoy characters who are true enough to themselves to be expressive and trusting and vulnerable, not because they’re too stupid to comprehend the risks but because they are too devoted to the possibility of goodness and hope to allow the pitfalls of reality to chain them.
It’s the reason I’ve always loved Dick. But always, he’s paired with someone way more cynical and brooding than him. And while it makes for really fun narrative contrast, it gets old after a while.
He and Kory bounce off one another’s light and optimism so well. They call each other “honey” with 100% sincerity. There’s no sarcastic edge to their hugs or their smiles. It’s just unabashed willingness to be true to one another, corniness or cringe be damned. They say “I love you” and, unlike seemingly every other character in media right now, there isn’t even the implication of an eye roll or a wink or something else to detract from the emotional intimacy. And I fucking love that.
Honestly, I don’t care if they’re romantic or platonic or whatever, but I NEED more Dickory interaction outside of the old Titans comics.
Jaybin being really protective of Batman is a dear headcanon of mine because he was so small and cute, and Bruce is the big bad bat, it's like a small kitten protecting a big tiger. You approach them and he starts hissing at you with his teeth out and his back round, even tho he doesn't go higher than your ankles, as if you had any chance to hurt a grown tiger.
I'm not good at drawing animals, but here is the visuals for my metaphor.
