i can't stop thinking about how coriolanus and sejanus really are the two sides of the same coin

coriolanus doesn't have what he thinks he's entitled to, but he is generally respected and looked up to and treated well and he has people that genuinely love him or feel fond of him

sejanus is scorned and rejected by this world he doesn't fit into, rejected by the district he calls home, rejected by his peers, derided

and it's coriolanus snow who thinks most people and definitely all district people are animals

and it's sejanus plinth who still believes that people can be kind, still believes in the goodness of humanity even when he's surrounded by venom

it makes it all the sadder that likely part of why sejanus still believed in the goodness of humanity was because of coriolanus. the one person who showed him decency. the one person who saved his life. the one who betrayed him and got him killed.
