She stands next to Two-Bit and Steve, not entirely engrossed in their conversation about Mickey and Minnie and how it’s unfair that Pluto’s their pet because he’s an animal, too —
She waves, but doesn’t say anything (after all, she isn’t a man, and she won’t answer to it even if Bob keeps telling her she has man hands).
He hadn't even seen Marcia.
Johnny flushes and lowers his eyes because he feels like a jerk. He gives her a small, crooked smile in sheepish greeting. As he moves closer, he decides to ignore the other two in favor of her, polite company. The teen finds himself craving a friend that isn't all about being tough.
Marcia doesn't frighten him like most girls. They'd made friendly at the movies, after all, and she wasn't all bad. Not nearly as bad as the friends she keeps. Even then, though, socials make him nervous.
“ Are these guys borin' you? ”
He's only joking around, of course, as he comes to a stop in front of her. The boy shuffles his feet.
