Sometimes I just want to be able to ask my dad for his credit card (to pay for college apps) without him cracking some joke like, "Oh, to buy me Christmas gift? Or to buy yourself birthday gift?"
I love his sense of humor but sometimes I just really don't. I still laugh to appease him, though.
PLEASE HELP BY REBLOGGING AND SHARING THIS WITH YOUR FRIENDS!
If you haven’t heard already, my really good friend’s mother was brutally murdered in her home this past Friday night in Hercules, CA. The killer fled in the family’s sky blue 2011 Subaru Outback (with Idaho license plates 1A1F680). The suspect is still on the loose and the police and family are asking for the public’s help to find the missing car.
Here’s what we know:
- Mrs. Ko was killed sometime between 7pm-10:30pm at home
- Neighbors were called to check on her when she failed to pick up Mr. Ko from Oakland airport and was found dead in the entryway of the house
- Family car was stolen and still missing
Police don’t have a motive or suspect but are treating the case as a homicide and are asking the public for any help in locating the vehicle. There have been a few unconfirmed possible sightings including in Bakersfield and Davis Creek. At this point, it’s likely the car can be anywhere in the Western US and the Idaho plates may be missing or switched.
If you see a suspicious vehicle matching the description police advise to call 911 or 510-724-1111 (Hercules PD) and note the exact time and location (cross streets, fwy mile markers).
i am doing a really bad job with this hiatus as you can tell— but i have an earnest favor to ask of you all.
at 10pm, on friday, october 5th, 2012, in hercules, california, susie ko was murdered in her house. despite only being my second grade teacher, mrs. ko continued to check up on me and...
Please, please keep reblogging. The longer it takes to locate the car, the larger the area the guilty party could have covered. This needs to get out as much as possible!
Imagine what it'd be like if your mother was murdered without any justice.
Sometimes I think about what I'd want to name my children and I fret about how most names aren't original enough... and then I go to Starbucks and it literally takes the barista 2 seconds to pull this one out of his bum. How does one get so creative? Daggum!
Should I be concerned about his hearing though? I mean he somehow got "Jokala" out of "Jocelyn" and the thing is, when he asked me to repeat my name I even said, "Jay-oh-cee-ee-ell-why-en." Idk...
I'm always a bit confused about how I fit into the world and sometimes I'm so sure that I was born in the wrong era... I always get this weird/nagging sentimental feeling when I listen to music and watch movies from the 60s-70s. UGHH it hurts me!
Ok so like I refrained from posting about 1D for the longest time because I know nobody really wants to see this and all but I love everything about these two and their secret relationship and it's all so perfect and nothing hurts and if only I met a guy who looked at me the way they look at each other we'd live happily ever after ...
Hi! So, this is gonna make it sound like I'm a total creeper, but I have Hunter Hayes as like a "tracked tag" or whatever on tumblr. And as I was scrolling down, I totally recginized you from the concert last Thursday. I waited outside his bus too and me and my friend got a picture with him. haha Anyways, there's no point to this message, except to say Hi! And I'm glad you had as amazing of a time at the concert as I did! haha :) Hope you have a good day!
HAHA not creeper-ish at all! :p Hello to you too, and glad to hear you had a great time too. :) It's always nice to meet other Hayniacs because I really don't have too many friends into Hunter/country music in general. And he really does put on the best show, doesn't he?!
I know I tweeted about this and everything and all but I'd like to take another moment to acknowledge the fact that my two favorite males in country music have interacted via Twitter. My bbz Charles Kelley and Hunter Hayes ahhhh <3 Too much looove.
I know most of my followers couldn't give two beans about country music, much less Hunter Hayes, but this is just a personal post for memory's sake... I never want to forget that night. <3
Tiff came over around 5 and we headed to San Jose/Club Rodeo around 5:30. We got to Club Rodeo at about 6 and there was already a pretty long line but fortunately I had the foresight to purchase the Early Entrance Package (I wanted to do the CHE but I was on a budget... plus it sold out. Definitely doing it when he comes with Carrie, though.) Tiff and I ended up being the only two people with the EEP so we stood at the side gate that opened to the patio waiting for them to let us in. While we were waiting, I decided to take a picture of Hunter's tourbus and tweet it... although I mistook it for the HMS Lafayette! I did not expect the boy to change tourbus every four months HAHA but the important thing is that HE TWEETED BACK TO ME, telling me it was actually the new bus, "Sir Duke"!
I definitely screamed/jumped up and down for a good 5-10 minutes after that!
(Our package tees)
Soon after, we were let in to the venue... Very first two people! Unfortunately, due to the way Club Rodeo is set up, we couldn't get a spot at the very front of the stage (since it was set up in front of the 21+ area). We chose the best spot we could get in the under 21 area and waited around for awhile. Once the regular admission people were let in, all hell broke loose. I decided to go to the bathroom (where girls were pregaming LOL Hunter would be disappointed) before the crowd got too crazy but much to my dismay, it was nearly impossible to get back to where Tiff was. I was really disappointed in a lot of the fans there; most people were rude enough to push or block me even though I politely said, "Excuse me," and explained that I had a spot in the front with my friend, I had just gone to the bathroom. I finally managed to make my way back to Tiff though, thanks to some really nice girls who told their friends to move and whatnot!
(Best view we could get in the under 21 area.)
What seemed like hours later (more like one hour in reality), Hunter finally came onto stage! What ensued cannot be described merely by detailed play-by-plays. He performed song after song with impeccable skill and so much charismatic charm. He isn't just a pretty face with a pretty voice to match. No, no - he has a flawless voice and unbelievable talent with instruments and the sweetest stage presence, not to mention an incredibly sophisticated understanding of what makes music great. Hunter manages to pull all his amazing qualities together and put it into his performances, and he pulls it off with such great aplomb. I melted with every word of his well-crafted lyrics, but perhaps the most swoon-worthy parts of the show were when he'd look around the audience while singing and really connect with them. I swear, when he looks in your general direction, you're almost completely convinced that he's singing right at/to you. It was also really cute how he interacted with the audience; he'd point at posters with lyrics, and he even acknowledged the girl who held up the, "Will you go to prom with me?" poster! He had to say no since "he'd be on tour then" (c'mon, he won't even go to prom with Lauren Alaina), but he dedicated his untitled song to her! (People on YouTube call it "In A Song" but he says he has yet to name it... it's excellent though. Needs to be put down in studio, along with "Light Me Up"!)
(Those arms... how does one stay so fit while on tour or songwriting 24/7?!)
One of the highlights of his show was when he performed "Where We Left Off"... my goodness, what a beautiful song. I've heard it many times before but the way he talked about the background of the song/dedicated it to those who fight or have fought in the armed forces and then sung it with such great emotion and passion... I could've cried right then and there. Of course, "Cry With You", "Love Makes Me", "Rainy Season", etc etc etc were amazing too. (By etc etc etc, I mean literally every other song.) Other performances worth noting were his covers such as "Just The Way You Are" and "Keep Your Head Up" and his "If You Told Me To"/"Hey Soul Sister" mashup... they really showcased his talent and versatility. What a true artist. He played for almost an entire 2 hours... Best $40 spent, EVER.
(Touching hands and signing autographs at the end of the show... such a sweet guy!)
I had told Tiffany from the get go that I was determined to meet Hunter that night, no matter what it took. I found it unfair that they didn't announce that the first 60 people to make purchases at the merch counter could get a meet&greet wristband until way later, since we definitely would've been the first. Technically we WERE the first since we picked up our tees from the EEP before anyone even got in... but if I tried to go buy anything after they announced it, 1223094809 girls were at the ready to pounce on our spots. I was going to make that argument if anyone tried to make me leave while I waited for Hunter outside his tourbus but fortunately I never needed to!
The concert ended around 10:40, give or take about 5 minutes? We got a picture with Matt (the awesome bassist) and waited for Hunter outside his bus and chatted with a few other girls, some of whom were very nice (and extremely dedicated superfans!) It got colder and colder and my feet were dying and midnight was quick approaching... And then my life was made. I shrieked when I realized he was a few meters away and then I tried to compose myself (to little avail). I managed to muster up enough sense to at least ask for his autograph on my CD, give him the bracelet I made him, and get two hugs and a picture! He was such a sweetheart... he sounded so genuinely surprised and grateful when I gave him the bracelet and explained the meaning behind it- "You have something for me? Wow, thank you so much... Wow, this is really awesome!" Also let me tell you, this boy has 0% body fat and he sweats like an angel. He was sweating profusely on stage since he performs like a rockstar and the I'm sure spotlight was really hot as well, yet there was zero evidence of this when we met him and he hadn't had a chance to freshen up... Goes along with my "Hunter Hayes is an undercover angel" theory quite nicely. Anyway, the poor guy seemed so tired/exhausted, but he still managed to take a ton of pictures and hug everyone who waited for him. He is such a genuine sweetheart and it's incredible how much he gives back to his fans. <3
I honestly believe Hunter Hayes is one of the most talented musicians of our generation, or even in the entire music industry. There's no doubt he is a musical prodigy; basically without any music lessons, he managed to play ALL the instrumentation on his album, along with co-writing and co-producing the whole thing. Freaking incredible. On top of being ridiculously talented, he is also such a sweetheart and gentleman. He won't even sing the word "sexy"... When he covered "Just The Way You Are", he changed sexy to pretty HAHA and he always refers to females as "miss". He is also so humble - for a kid who performed with Hank Williams Jr. at the age of 4, he is incredibly down to earth. Let's not forget his philanthropic efforts - he wrote "Here's Hope" for ConAgra's "Child Hunger Ends Here" and of course, "Where We Left Off" for "Act of Valor", both of which are beautiful songs for a good cause.
Hunter's music has affected so many different aspects of my life. It's inspiring because he once believed that he was writing music that no one would ever be interested in listening to, yet his job now is to go around performing those very same songs every night to sold-out crowds. His song, "Faith To Fall Back On" has also inspired me to put a little more trust where it belongs and to live with a little more faith in everything I do. (The bracelet I made him had "faith" spelled out on it.) He even serves as a reminder that polite young gentlemen still do exist somewhere out there! More importantly, in a world full of autotune and synthesizers and celebrities taking advantage of their fame, Hunter stays true to himself, his music, and his fans. There is no doubt he does what he does for his love and passion for music and nothing else.
To sum it all up, Hunter Hayes is an incredible human being and artist. Seeing him perform live was possibly one of the best parts of my life thus far (since music is such an integral part of my life). I hope he continues to succeed and that more and more people recognize his incredible talent and artistry. I'm sure he'll make it big someday and his music will touch the lives of many. <3
P.S. I cannot listen to his album without getting a little sad now, because it reminds me of his live performances which were infinitely better than the studio versions. (Sounds impossible but it's true!) Records don't do his voice justice!
P.P.S. Pictures do not do his face justice, either. <3 He has the face of an angel.
