I feel an unhealthy amount of attachment to Thorin Oakenshield and Thranduil Oropherion. Not a day goes by where I don't think about the ending to The Battle of Five Armies, and that moment in The Desolation of Smaug when Thranduil removed his glamour. OH! And I cannot forget the ending credits, I was in tears!!! (ABSOLUTE CINEMA but with a large helping of ANGST that I did not need, iykyk).

But some distinctions are clear and significant: -Women read more books than men. -Black and white people read more books than Hispanics. (The difference between black and white readers isn't large enough to be statistically significant.) -People who've been to college read more books than those who haven't. Nor is it the case that ebooks are rapidly gaining on traditional paperbacks. The statistics from this 2014 article still rings true.
