the look of suspicion on joeyâs face from the squinted eyes just made teddy grin harder. âi never said it was for me, officer.â he held both hands up in surrender. âmaybe i just want to bring kitties to my yard, would have used milk but my sister told me that when they grow up theyâre usually lactose intolerant.â the weird fact fell out of his mouth without worry around jo. âiâd do time for him, i can be the scapegoat.â he tried not to laugh. âi forgot a couple things when i went grocery shopping because spud got at my list. what brings trouble and mischief out here?â ted pointed at the cat first and then his friend with the nicknames.Â
.
joey kept his eyes on teddy, shaking his head as he let out a small chuckle. âdonât worry, iâm not going to get you arrested or anything... and even if pickle wanted to get in the force, he probably wouldnât make it. he has committed way too many crimes.â he said, as he spaced off for a couple of seconds before coming back to earth and looked at teddy, a smile on his face. âdo you want a cat? because if you do, then our cats need to be best friends... and i wonât take no for an answer!â he said with a chuckle, as he held his cat close to his chest, smiling at teddy. âdonât you dare get arrested for pickle! do you want to come over to my place? we can order pizza.â he offered with a smile, nodding his head. âoh, he just got out and i thought he was taking too long, so i came to find him. but heâs fine now.â he smiled, looking at his cat.
âcâmon wilson, where else am i supposed to get the good shit?â ted pointed mock-threateningly, smile on his face, at the cat in question. âi was promised premium grade a catnip for my eighty bucks!â tj let pickle give him a quick sniff before he offered to scritch warmly at the back of the catâs neck. âif youâre going down, youâre gonna have to take me with you, not gonna let my little dude catch the heat solo.â
.
joey looked at teddy, eyes narrowed as he held his cat close to his chest. he wasnât sure if he should believe him on what he was saying. âcan people even take catnip? because... thereâs cat in the name.â he said with a small shrug of his shoulders, letting out a sigh as he looked at teddy. âlisten, i donât know why youâre my catâs ride or die, but you donât want to get in trouble with him, trust me.â he said, nodding his head slowly. âbecause heâs definitely going to get him in more trouble than you already do. heâs a little devil. but i still love him no matter what.â he said, shaking his head slowly as he looked at his cat and then at teddy. âwhat are you doing around here anyway?â he asked his friend, a smile on his face.
Amelia was two seconds away from picking up Pickle and smothering her favorite cat with all the love she could muster when JoJo suddenly scooped her up. She scowled at her best friend - tapping her toe against the ground. Still, the annoyance didnât last and she couldnât help the laugh at his antics. He was ridiculous and Mel loved him dearly. âI donât know - he was trying to sell me some cat nip. Said he had the best stuff in town and that I wouldnât regret it.â She kept up with the façade, eyeing the cat as if she was suspicious of his intentions. âI think he was lying - should get that one arrested or something.â Amelia joked, finally breaking character with a laugh. Looping her arm through Joeyâs, Mel grinned at him. âI came to tell you that you have to come to this party because I am not going alone and I need you there. Plus Percy wants to take me shopping and I have the feeling that my girlfriend is going to kill me with all the dresses sheâs gonna make me try one when I would rather wear what Iâm wearing now.â
.
joey smiled when he noticed that the person pickle was actually âtalkingâ to was amelia. he must have recognized her from the time the other spent at her house, so everything was okay. but still, listening to her talk made joey shake his head. âcome on, amy, you know you shouldnât believe what he says... and you definitely shouldnât get him arrested, you know how lonely my apartment gets if i donât have him around. so, just let him go this time and it wonât happen again.â he said with a small nod, knowing that probably wasnât true. he knew that pickle would try to get in more trouble sooner or later, but he decided not to think about, looking at amelia as they walked and he heard her talk about the party. âthereâs a party happening?â he asked, raising an eyebrow as he tilted his head to the side, thinking about if he should go. he knew that he probably would get dragged to it, sooner or later, and he was sure that amelia would be the person that made him go. âokay, sure, iâll go... is it like a fancy party or something? because i only have one suit and iâm not sure if it fits me anymore.â he said, nodding his head.
Not in much of a rush to return home, Nehemiah strolled down the sidewalk as he took in his surroundings. He knew that taking his time wasnât smart with a murderer on the loose, but he couldnât find it in himself to care. Being kidnapped was more appealing to him than sleeping right now. His nightmares had been unforgiving for the last few days and insomnia only followed so it wasnât like heâd be doing anything else anyway. Instead of chasing his fears away with music, Nehemiah chose to visit the bakery for some cake this time. A quiet night with his sweets was what he had expected, what he hadnât expected was for a cat to join him. âHola, gatito! ÂżQuieres un poco de bizcocho?â He softly cooed, squatting down to offer a piece of his cake until the cat was suddenly pulled away. Looking up at what seemed to be its owner, Nehemiah chuckled at the manâs question. âHard times, but no, he didnât. Just two fellas sharing some cake,â he told him, then nodded to the cat. âYou lose him?â
.
joey looked at the man, smiling at him as he talked to his cat. he didnât understand what he was saying, but it seemed sweet of him, but he still held him close to his chest to prevent the other to get in trouble with his cat. âat least thatâs good... he must have known that you had cake, he loves cake. iâm just glad that he hasnât figured out how to open my fridge yet or else i couldnât have cake there.â he said with a chuckle, shaking his head slowly as he looked down at his cat and then back at the other, shaking his head yet again at the question. âoh, no, donât worry about it... i just let him out of the house. so he could get some fresh air, but when i noticed that he was taking too long, i started to get worry and i decided to come and look for him... you know, before he got in trouble. and trust me, he does get in a lot of trouble.â he said with a sigh. he wasnât proud of it, but thatâs the cat he had and he still wouldnât change his mind about him being the best cat ever.
in one hand housed veliâs leash, the german shepherd trotting along a bit in front, while rĂŒya was simply enjoying an evening walk, before she had to pick up atlas from her parents place. regardless of the trepidatious aura that was blanketing the town presently â for good reason of course. however her mind didnât linger on the thought too long, before coming to a halt as the dog picked a spot to sniff around, meanwhile catching sight of a cat padding towards their direction. she tugged on the lead gently to move veli closer, not wanting him to potentially scare them away, which as it seemed wouldnât pose an issue as she knelt down, holding a hand out to give the little feline chin scratches. both animals in close proximity, more curious about one another than anything. not before long though, the owner came over scooping the cat right into his arms, standing back up, perplexity etches across her features when he spoke, soon giving way to a chuckle. â i mean, in his defense, he was making a pretty compelling offer â but you got here just before he could close the deal. â adding on to the jocular tone of pickleâs apparent solo endeavors. â unless this is all part of a running scheme you both have going on, in which case i have to wonder â who the real criminal mastermind is. â
.
joey knew that pickle and dogs didnât get along, that much he remembered. even back in chicago, the cat seemed to have something against dogs, which was something that joey didnât understand, so he tried his best to keep pickle away from dogs. but the truth was that joey did love dogs. and he was pleasantly surprised that pickle hadnât attacked the dog. at least that was some progress, he thought to himself as he held his cat close to him. just because it hadnât happened, didnât mean it wouldnât happen after. he shook his head as he heard the other talk about how his cat was making a good offer. âi know, he has his charm and he always makes it seem that heâs a good cat and heâs a good businessman... but i wouldnât trust him.â he said, nodding his head slowly, before raising an eyebrow as the other called him a criminal mastermind. âitâs not! iâm not! iâm just here making sure that he doesnât get in more trouble than he already gets... i canât even have plants in the house because he ends up destroying it... heâs the criminal.â he said. âbut i love him.â he said, as he moved to kiss his catâs head. it was definitely good company, that much was true.
âHa! Sounds like a real asshole,â Boyd chuckled lightly. âDefinitely living up to the cat name. Reminds me why I only ever had dogs growing up.â That, and his little sister was allergic. But Boyd and cats had never really seen eye to eye. Still, it had been enough to stop him when he saw it prowling down the street. It was clearly well taken care of, and exactly the kind of target the Shadow (or some copycat) might nab to keep them busy.
.
joey looked at boyd, narrowing his eyes for a bit as he shook his head slowly. âhey, câmon, heâs not an... asshole. he just likes doing mischief, but that doesnât mean that heâs an asshole!â he said, letting out a sigh. he knew that his cat liked to get in trouble, but that didnât mean that he was an actual asshole. even if he could be one sometimes, mostly because he scratched people he didnât know. luckily for him, that hadnât happened. âbut did he try to sell you something or not?â he asked, raising an eyebrow, in hopes that the other would say no.
rowan was casually strolling home after having just finished one of his shifts at the store. he was lost in music, blaring his favorite playlist in his ears, pretending he was in a movie and his music was the soundtrack. as he came to a stop to cross the street he noticed a cute cat approach him, which caused him to pause his music, unable to help himself form bending down to give it little scratches. his gaze went up to meet the owner of the cat, offering them a friendly grin, standing up now so they were on the same eye level, âyou named your cat âpickleâ? thatâs awesome.â he comments, giving a nod of approval. âhm? oh, nah, donât worry about it. pickle didnât try to sell me anything,â ro replies with a light laugh, giving a reassuring smile. his gaze travels back to the pickle for a second, âi doubt anyone that cute could ever cause too much chaos. i dunno. i think i wouldnât mind pickle being my landlord.â he looks back to pickleâs owner, a smile still spread on his face, âwill you be joining him in collecting the monthly rent?â
.
joey looked over at rowan and nodded his head slowly, smiling slightly as he held his cat closed. âwell, i wouldnât say i named him, i just think he kind of looks like a pickle, donât you think?â he asked, as he held his cat and moved him closer to rowan so he could have a better look at his cat, then pulling him back to hold him close to his chest. he was a little relieved to hear that pickle hadnât tried to sell the other anything, knowing that probably wouid get him in more trouble than he already was. âokay, thatâs good... if he tries again, you should say no... always say no. and donât trust me. he might seem like heâs cute and all of that, but he really likes to get in trouble.â he said with a small nod of his head. he loved his cat, but even he had to admit that his cat was a bit of a troublemaker when he wanted to. âand no, he doesnât tell me whenever heâs out doing his business. but i was starting to get worried because he was taking too long to return. and with good reason, i donât need him to come back to my apartment at four in the morning... heâs done that before.â he said with a nod.
âI always thought it would be fruity.â Heather shrugged, that may have been an obvious answer considering the colours but she liked to think it tasted like a nice fruit salad. âIt just makes sense doesnât it? Like.. why would it not taste like fruit or juices you know? Iâd be disappointed if it was like frozen water.â She laughed. âWhat did I get?â She smiled before showing him her ice cream choice. âI obviously got the cookie dough. Itâs safe and like I said the name doesnât lie. âThatâs the problem.. everything that is bad feels so good right? Why would the cookie dough taste so good raw if itâs bad?â
.
at heatherâs answer, joey nodded his head as his lips turned into a small pout as he considered that a rainbow would taste like fruit. it wasnât bad, but he would have thought it would taste like something different. âyou know, that kind of makes sense... maybe each color would taste like a different color. now i kind of want to try it.â he said, knowing that probably it was impossible to taste the rainbow, but sooner or later, someone would figure out how to do it and joey would be in the first line to try it. he hoped, at least. looking at the otherâs ice cream, he smiled and nodded. âright, that makes sense... i think iâll get it too. since you say itâs good. i believe you.â he said with a small chuckle.
Without noticing the cat which has been following her around for a while Cody felt confused hearing someone call her a pickle from the distance. She turned around ready to see who could it be almost bumping into the man picking up the cat. The blonde let out a chuckle when it started making sense, seeing the furry friend of his. âAm I in a hidden camera?â was the first possibility that came to her mind while looking around for a cameraman sitting in the bush as from one ridiculous thing they went to the subject of selling drugs âno worries, it didnât sneak any catnip into my shoeâ was followed by another chuckle since whatever answer he expected to get from Cody wouldnât make any sense just as his questions âunless youâre distracting me while the cat is stealing my walletâ the woman couldnât help but top it with a joke while tapping her pocket to make sure it was still in place just in case she wasnât wrong.
.
joey held his cat close to his chest as he petted his head slowly, before looking at cody and raised an eyebrow, shaking his head slowly. âa hidden camera? what do you mean?â he asked, raising an eyebrow, clearly confused on what the other was talking about. âand pickle doesnât sell catnip, he sells... you know what, itâs better if i donât tell you, i donât want to be embarrassed. iâve been trying to get him to stop.â he said, as he pursed his lips as he looked down at his cat with a disappointed look on his face. no matter how hard he tried to get him to stop, his cat didnât seem to listen to him. he let out a sigh as his head turned to look at cody again, frowning slightly at the otherâs question. âoh, no, no... i mean, i donât steal and i would never use pickle to do it... he would probably just run off with your wallet if he had it. sometimes he likes to steal the peanuts i carry in my back pockets.â he said with a small nod.
Zoe had seen the cat wondering down the streets and instantaneously felt a pang of worry. She knew cats were much more independent and free than dogs, and that cat owners tended to be more chill about where they went and when. And itâs not like it seemed⊠Lost or anything, but it had a collar⊠Someone had to be missing it, right? The kitten had started to rub up against her legs, and she smiled and went to pet its head gently, trying to get a better glance at the collar, when someone came rushing in calling for Pickle âOh, heâs yours?â She said with a big smile, watching the man pick up the cat and cuddle him âUgh, thank God, I was starting to get worried, I hate seeing stray or lost animals in the street, I donât know what Iâd do if Penny ran away and I couldnât find herâ She said with a hand over her heart. Albeit, Penny was a huge dalmatian, she was hard to miss, but still, the feeling stood. Laughing at the whole drug sale stint he was pulling, the brunette shook her head with her hands âWe hadnât gotten to that part of a transaction. He was waiting for me to give him the secret word, so that he knew Iâm not police and he could then show me all the goods, werenât you?â Zoe went along with the joke.Â
.
joey knew that pickle liked going around and about, but the truth was that most of the time, joey knew that he would probably get in trouble. and most people didnât seem to believe him whenever joey said that he was out doing drugs or hanging out with a bike gang. but that didnât matter, joey was just glad that he had found him before he had gotten himself in trouble... if he hadnât done that already. he held him close to his chest as he looked at zoe, nodding his head slowly. âyeah, heâs mine.â he said with a smile. âi just let him out of the house for a couple of moments so he wouldnât start breaking my stuff, but he was taking too long to return so i thought it would be for the best if i came and find him before... he got in trouble.â he said as he looked down at his cat, letting out a sigh of relief. he was just glad that he was okay. his eyes turned to look at zoe as she talked, raising an eyebrow. âno, iâm serious, you really shouldnât take what he sells... itâs not safe. and whatever he told you, it isnât true. and heâll know youâll just come back for more.â he said and nodded, trying to warn the other that his cat wasnât exactly the best behaved cat in the world.

âpickle! there you are!â joey said, once he finally spotted his cat near someone, quickly making his way over to him and picking him up, holding him close. he gave his cat all the freedom he needed, but it was starting to get late and he still hadnât been back. joey had been getting worried, so he decided to look out for him, and within five minutes he had spotted him. âwhat have i told you about selling drugs out in public? you canât do that, youâll get in trouble.â he whispered to his cat, as he held him close and then kissed his head, before looking at the person who had been standing there the whole time, before smiling at them. âpickle didnât sell you anything, right? because if he did, iâm not sure if i would trust it⊠heâs just trying to get some money because his gig as a slumlord didnât work. he just didnât treat those families right.â he said, nodding his head as he looked back at his cat again.
Heather smiled sweetly at the man as she observed the ice cream selection, âI think..â she trailed off as she thought about it âI think Iâve never tasted a rainbow or a cloud before but Iâm gonna lean more towards it tasting like a rainbow.â she nodded. âI like to think cotton candy has more of a cloud taste, you know?â She joked. âI usually settle for the cookie dough because at least I know itâs going to be good and I know exactly what cookie dough tastes like. I know what Iâm getting isnât a lie.â
.
joey looked over at heather as she explained her point of view, nodding his head slowly as he pondered over the ice cream he really wanted. âbut what do you think a rainbow would taste like? because my moms always told me it would just taste like frozen water, but somehow i donât believe about that...â he said, raising an eyebrow at heather, a smile on his face as he heard about the suggestion. âcookie dough is good... although iâve been yelled at before for eating raw cookie dough, so you know... but itâs good.â he said with a nod, as he finally placed his order for the cookie dough ice cream, then turning to heather. âwhat did you get?â he asked, a smile on his face.
it wasnât like he wanted to be there after dark but there was a lot that needed to be done. mostly because he had noticed an influx of visitors to the cemetery. some people were a bit careless when it came to what they left behind. he normally wouldnât have minded but considering the circumstances he was obviously on edge. he was going to pick up a few cigarette butts from the grass,â no fucking respect.â they were tossed in the garbage bag that he was carrying with him. only he heard what sounded like a branch snap and it made his head snap up,â are you trying to give me a heart attack? you know visitors arenât allowed after sundown.âÂ
jogging at night wasnât exactly the safest thing to do in a place like hidehill. joey didnât know anything about the missing girl, but the fact that she was missing was terrifying enough. but he wasnât tired and he needed to get some rest for the next day. he hadnât even noticed that he had entered the cemetery, until he heard someone talking to him, whose reaction almost made him scream. âare you trying to give me a heart attack? you were just standing there! i thought you were like... a zombie.â he said, as he looked over at the man and let out a sigh. he didnât know what he would do if it was an actual zombie, but at least he didnât have to worry about that. and he probably shouldnât be hanging out at a cemetery.

a small yawn escaped her lips as she sat on the  blanket she had brought with her. it wasnât everyday that she would bring lucky, and the baby fox she was taking care of with her to the park. but it was for only an hour before the heat really kicked up. âlucky, stay over here ! â she called to her dog. but as she knew, lucky would run off. and result in faith running after her. dammit lucky. picking up the baby fox, she ran after her dog. it wasnât until she saw lucky stop that she sighed in relief. âSorry about her. this is why i rarely bring her out. she tends to run off all the time when weâre here.â
joey knew that walking through reign park to get to his place was a faster way to get there. plus, it was a good thing that the weather was nice as well, allowing him to take his time on his walk back home. he had his airpods on, so the warning of the other calling her dog was dismissed, but he did smile when he saw the dog running towards his direction. he immediately crouched down to pet the dog, taking one of his airpods off to hear what the other was saying. âoh, itâs okay... sheâs pretty sweet.â he said as he continued to pet the dog with a smile on his face, before looking over at faith again. âi mean, itâs a park, itâs only natural that she wants to run off and play.â he said with a small giggle.

Jordan had been out of the hospital for not even 24 hours and after promising the hospital staff and his family that he would stay in bed and rest, here he was limping towards the towns bakery. It was clear to anyone he passed by that he was not in the shape to be out and about on his own, but he refused to be âhelplessâ. His ribcage burned from the exercise his body couldnât handle yet he ignored the warnings and swung open the bakery door. Breathing in the familiar and missed smells of the fresh baked goods. âGot any glazed donuts left this morning?â He asked the worker behind the counter, trying not to make eye contact with any of the other customers as to not draw anymore attention to himself.
he was a little late for his work but he needed a snack for his morning break in between classes with his kids. sure, donuts werenât exactly the best snack and it definitely wasnât healthy, but joey couldnât help himself. it was stronger than him. he had just asked for some donuts, probably the last ones on the batch and he was about to turn around and leave when he heard a voice asking if there were more. joey raised an eyebrow as he looked at the taller figure and frowned slightly. âi donât think there are any more...â he answered slowly, knowing very well that he could have just walked out like it wasnât any of his business, but he stood there. âi can offer you one... but i need the other five. for... something.â he said, nodding his head slowly as he looked down at his box.

Heather had taken another day off work from the diner as she felt she still needed to clear her head. She had a lot to think about and although she was relieved Jordan had been found she still felt on edge about the fact there was a killer out there playing games. Sheâd sat at a table on her own as slowly ate her ice cream. She used to come here when she was younger every day after school with her dad for âHeather & Daddy timeâ as she was the youngest of three and definitely the most quieter of the bunch as a child. She still came here from time to time when she needed to clear her mind, think things over and just relax for once. She was in a world of her own as she fiddled with the spoon in her ice cream before she noticed the other in here too. âOh, hello!â She greeted with a smile.
joey thought he could get himself a treat after a day of listening to kids and trying to teach them math. joey wasnât necessarily the best with numbers, that much was obvious, but he thought he had done pretty well with basic math. at least he hoped he wasnât teaching them anything wrong, but it didnât matter. his day was done and as he was walking home, he noticed the ice cream parlour. he had been there once or twice before, but it was always good. he walked in and looked at all of the flavors, trying on something to decide before he heard someone talking to him, making him turn his head with a small smile. âoh, hey.â he said, waving his hand. âdo you think rainbow ice cream actually tastes like a rainbow or does it taste like a cloud? because iâm kind of struggling on what to pick here.â he said, as he looked down at all of the flavors again, his eye scanning the bubblegum favor once again.

*PERSONALITY (summarized)
to make it simple, joey isnât the smartest person youâll meet â from asking random questions about simple tasks to talking about how his cat back at home is smoking, joey always seems to find himself not making sense. you can always find him around town, usually walking around because heâs lost. besides being dumb, joey really is one of the nicest people youâll know once you get to meet him â he might ask some inappropriate questions from time to time, but theyâre not asked with any malice. besides this, he likes to sleep around with a lot of people, youâll probably always find him hanging from someoneâs lips at a party or any event.
*BRIEF BACKGROUND
joseph wilsonâs story starts when he was adopted by a young couple, who had decided it was time for a second child. claire and grace wilson adopted joey when he was just a couple of months old and thatâs all joey knows. he never heard from his biological family and the couple didnât plan to reach out, but joey never felt the need to. he was raised by two loving and caring moms and his older brother, and he always knew that was his real family. as he got older, the couple thought he would want to know about his biological family, but joey never felt the need to know them. the four of them were enough and thatâs how he grew up.
claireâs personality reflected on joey and from a young age he learned to be kind and caring to everyone he came across with. the bubbly and friendly personality that radiated from his mother infected him and he became just like her, making sure to put a smile to everyoneâs face everywhere he went, even when his older brother (who was much more like grace, firm but caring) didnât seem to budge, he would always try to make him smile. although he was raised to be like this, grace never let him be beaten down or take shit from anyone, so he also learned how to defend himself and always stand his ground whenever someone tried to take him down.
luckily for him, it seemed like his personality was contagious, for once he got to high school, he was quick to make friends and became popular after a while. of course, it helped that he had joined the cheerleading squad and while being surrounded by mean girls could corrupt someone, joey always kept true to himself, but did start taking a like to gossip, which quickly became one of joeyâs favorite things (even though he canât keep a secret for that long). while joey did like going to school, he didnât like going to class - and everytime he went to any class, he would be distracted with daydreaming or coloring with his crayons. even if he was popular, a lot of people considered him to be stupid, but he never let that take him down - although it could hurt from time to time.
when it came to his senior year and graduation, joey had to stay a year behind. seeing his friends graduate was hard, but he knew that with a little effort that he could do something good and thatâs what he did. he started studying and next thing he knew, he had graduated and⊠he had no idea what to do next. he had been so distracted with cheering competitions and parties and hanging out with his friends that he had never thought about what he wanted to do next.
the truth was that joey had always been good with kids. it was no secret that his childish and radiant personality helped him with finally gaining the courage to do something more serious. he started out with dancing classes to kids at a dance studio close to his house. and thatâs when he figured out what he wanted to do. despite his grades never being the best, he found out that he was better at being a teacher than he originally thought.
