You joke, but this is actually their long-term plan
I highly recommend reading Cory Doctorow's book, "The Reverse Centaur's Guide to Life After AI". The practice of cramming AI into everything is a bid to show how much AI is being used so they can get more VC money - and it doesn't matter if you're using AI just to tell it to go away, or having a LLM skim all of a podcast so you can make a searchable index.
It's being promoted as something that can think when really it is a garbage in-garbage out blender, and if the owners had tempered their greed by even 10% shit wouldn't be so dire.
