The funniest thing about Lazlo whatwedointheshadows’ rivalries is that they’re always 100% reciprocated.  You think “Lazlo, don’t be ridiculous, no one wants your weird cursed hat.  Stop being paranoid,” and then Simon the Devious pulls off an elaborate disguise to reveal that he’s spent the past 5+ years setting up an elaborate con for the sole purpose of stealing the cursed hat.  Everyone is going into this with the exact same bonkers energy over the most trivial nonsense and it’s fantastic

the crew deciding they’ll force izzy to admit he enjoys their softness and quirks by collectively giving him the cold shoulder until he caves

instead izzy, who had been steadily getting used to them, is abruptly shunned by the entire crew with absolutely no idea what he did wrong. he tries for days to figure it out but even ed and stede are in on it and no one talks to him besides the bare minimum required to do their jobs and he can’t just ask them what he did because if he was good enough in the first place he would know and

this is for the best, actually. it’s for the best the crew stopped wasting their time trying to play nice with him to get out of work. the ship is running the smoothest it’s ever been and yeah it sucks that edward isn’t acknowledging him but he’s probably busy with bonnet and thats what izzy does all this work for, anyway. so ed can relax. it’s not the crew’s fault he got used to being treated like one of them. first mates aren’t meant to be liked, they’re meant to be listened to. everything is as it should be.
