E X P L O S I V E 💥 This is Hairy Bittercress (Cardamine hirsuta), Ive passed it a number of times on our daily walk and thought nothing of it until we stopped to look at its tiny white flowers today. 🌱 It turns out Hairy Bittercress is a common weed that uses a special method of seed dispersion. As the seed heads ripen, they will explode (albeit tiny explosions with no awesome fire or sound) dispersing the seeds over a larger area, ensuring the success of the species. 🍲 Hairy Bittercress is part of the mustard family (Brassicaceae) and if you were feeling up to it, you could collect all the seed heads and use them in salads.
