Goodbye Greensville. || Selfie
For the first time in his life, Jonah wasn’t happy. He still had a smile on his face but that was for everyone else’s benefit than his own. He’d known for a little while that his Grandmother wasn’t feeling herself, but Jonah had always been told what he needed to hear. He’d never realized just how bad things were until his visit.
He was told that it started with confusion, simple things that she seemed to just stare blankly at Jonah’s grandfather over. Then came the forgetfulness.
It didn't take very long from the start of his visit for Jonah to make a decision. He couldn't go back to Greensville when he was needed here. Sure, he had friends he'd miss and people he wouldn't get to see that often anymore but in reality, Jonah really wouldn't be leaving that much behind.
He spent the next few days packing his things and moving them to his grandparents for the time being and packing gift baskets for the people he'd met in Greenville. The people he'd spoken to a little and a lot. People who he'd smiled at and the people who'd made him smile. Every gift was personalised and hand delivered so he could say his goodbyes personally and when he was done with his day, he quietly left Greensville without so much as a trail of glitter behind him.
