Water Rising | Covaire Event
Since Ezra had obtained his bow and lost his control he had been hunting. Every creature that attacked him had been shot down, every wolf he saw ripping into another was shot down, he brought down murderous wolfs and feral creatures. Yet he was so close to becoming one, his eyes glowed with hellfire, tinted with the supernatural while the wolf in him thrived. He recollected his arrows and continued, moving through the forest and marsh, avoiding the drop zone and safe haven, bringing the same hell with him in every step.Â
Ezra had just finished tearing the heart from a wolf when he felt the ground shake. At first he gave it little attention, till minutes later he witnessed water rush around his feet, rising quickly. He moved swiftly to pull the life vest from his survivor pack, trudging through the growing current for someplace safe. He would not find it.Â
He crashed into trees and debris, as the current ripped him around. It was then he collided with someone else that he turned to face them, prepared to beat them bloody.
Jonah hadnât even had the chance to heal properly from the other wounds by the time the ground started to shake. One moment he was clutching at a deep, bloody gash in his side and the next water was rising and flooding over it. He wasnât a strong swimmer by any means, and the memories of his fatherâs attempt to drown him all came flooding back with the water that engulfed his frame. He was knocked off his feet within seconds.
He lost count of how many other people he crashed into, but it was on this occasion that he actually stopped long enough to see who it was. âIâm sorry!â He blurted instantly, even though he knew this was a kill or be killed week. At least, it had been so far.
