GARDE NATIONALE JEAN

The newest Sneak-Peeks in the Guts & Blackpowder Discord Server got me to draw our favorite Frenchman as an NCO of the Garde Nationale. This is also my own interpretation of Jean as well.

The reason for doing this is that Jean’s appearance made him look like a “leader-like” figure, so a friend of mine from Discord suggested to draw him as a Garde Nationale NCO; and this came up when we were talking about the Garde Nationale, which played a critical role in the Battle of Paris, as well as its division into dozens of new units for Napoleon’s army.

I even made extra artwork detailing on how the Garde Nationale would look like if they were added to the game, and I even made mockups had they been integrated.

Here’s how I would put the Garde Nationale in the game:

The Garde Nationale is a free unlockable regiment if you complete certain badges, those being the Paris badges and both Roscoff badges (Don’t Give Up the Ship, Search and Rescue). After doing so, you get the Garde Nationale as a reward, and they also appear in Leipzig, Hougoumont, La Haye Sainte and La Ferme as the 135th Line Infantry. The 135th comprised of members of the Garde Nationale and fought in Eastern France and Germany.
